...can be adjusted using an air pump which is not supplied with the fork. The lower legs of the fork are made from one piece magnesium and are disc specific, they accept a 20mm axle. Performance wise these forks do exactly what they were intended to do. They take single big hits in a reasuring and confidence inspiring manner, steering is as accurate as any other singlecrown fork on the market and they remain stiff under heavy breaking. Looks wise they are a dirt brown colour, which in my opinion is not as good looking as the old black version, although it doesn't look too bad on the bike. The fork also performs well on UK downhill courses due to its strength, the fork is also relatively smooth over fast smaller bumps, although the rebound damping could do with being a bit slower, even on the slowest setting. ...In all honesty I hate mudguards. With a passion. I'm a bit of a bike purist, snob if you like, and even with a touring bike that's designed to take them as a perfectly practical option I just think they detract from the clean lines of a nice bike. And so it was that when I built up a new commuter last year I wasn't really that bothered about it having the mudguard eyelets necessary to mount mudguards, nor the space between frame and tyre through which to pass 'guards. And then it rained on me. And I saw the error of my ways. Well, sort of. I still think they look hideous, but a few commutes where it rained earlier meaning only the road is still wet soon change you mind on things. ...(due to weighing 160lbs) a very easy job for anyone who does there own servicing. And it second leg has a gas cylinder or as they call it the ETA system. I must admit when I first saw it I thought it was a total gimmick but after ridding and actually using I find that it is fantastic the way you can change the stiffness of the fork by simply adding or removing a bit of air instead of having to by some new for oil or changing the springs. There is also a dampener on the forks and to be honest I have never used it so couldn't really comment on it. I have got disk brakes on mine but I have seen some with V brakes. But there are no brackets to fit V's on mine so if you are going to fit V's I would research this and make sure that they are compatible.
