My boyfriend and I eventually gave in and bought ourselves a Wii about 6 months ago. Then, on my birthday back in May, my parents bought me the Wii Fit. Since then, we have used it most evenings and have had an awful lot of fun using it.
What Is A Wii Fit?
A Wii Fit is sort of like a fitness game which is used in conjunction with the Wii Games Console. There is the usual disc which you insert into the Wii console and also a 'Balance Board' which is just like a set of weighing scales. You need to stand on the balance board for the various exercises and games that you will take part in. I have recently been brought a Wii console & Wii Fit game & balance board by my fiance for my 21st birthday. It was my gift of choice so I was very happy with it and here you will see my review.
The Balance board is a board with indentations for your feet showing you where to stand. The board contains within a set of weighing scales to monitor your weight at all times. The board is also used to measure your centre of gravity and your balance whilst participating in various ways. There are lots of different ways that you use the board, standing on it, sitting on it, putting your feet on it or just your hands to carry out muscle workouts or yoga exercises.
The balance board works wirelessly providing it is not too far from the Wii sensor. You will be provided with 4 AA batteries which will last for between 10 & 20 hours on average ...

Advantages: Encourages people who may not have done excerise without the interaction of a console Disadvantages: You cannot record activity you took part in the day before
We purchased our Nintendo Wii at the beginning of May at Toys R Us as part of a bundle with four games of our choice for £239.99 - possibly the cheapest price around unless you are willing to put your faith in an ebay seller or shop. And the reason why we purchased the console? Wii Fit.
Wii Fit had the critics talking way before it hit the shops, partly because of it's innovative technology, partly because of the price, and partly because of the effect it could have with regards to preventing an obese Britain. After traipsing around just about every shop we could think of, we finally tracked down and bought Wii Fit at Comet, for £69.99.
As we bought both the console and Wii Fit on the same day, the amount of money we had forked out for all the kit did come initially as a rather nasty shock, but the three of us are glad we made ...
