...The xcr 4000 I drive is the smoothest fully suspended MTB I have ever had the good fortune to ride. It is the I drive system that gives this bike a long travel suspension ride that moves well and is clever enough not to sap any of your forward energy as you ride. I have used this bike on road and off road in both the dry and wet and the I drive has never let me down.
The price you pay includes shimano deore chainset and shift. judy front shocks and vanilla fox rear.
The package is strong yet light and is therefore excellent value.
The balance of the bike is spot on. It is the comfort of the bike that will sell it to most.
If you only have £600 to spend on a mountain Bike then this is the best value you will find....

Advantages: Comfortable Disadvantages: Expensive, difficult to maintain, (sometimes) creates a false sense of security
...This is an opinion on a matter I feel particularly strongly about. It is on the subject of Full Suspension Mountain Bikes. You may think this is placed in a completely irrelevant category, but my suggestion of a category has been rejected. Although I do not intend to sound pompous, I obviously cannot understand how my advice on the type of suspension, cannot be of use to consumers who are considering buying a bike.
Therefore I have considered all the available categories in the bike section and have made an extremely tenuous link between carriers and suspension. After all, the suspension carries you, doesn't it. I felt that this issue plays a large part when considering the purchase of a bike, so I have posted it anyway. I hope you do find it useful. So onto the opinion...

Advantages: Great Price, Great Components, Super Reliability Disadvantages: None whatsoever
...noticed was the handling - rather than the soft feel of the aluminium forks of my original Trek 1500 the carbon fibre forks felt weird - more rigid and powerful. Combined with the carbon fibre seatpost the feel of the tarmac was completely different and it took several miles before I started getting used to it.
The wheels that the bike arrived with would not be my first choice - I have had Bontrager Select wheels before, and while they are very strong and ultra-reliable they lack a bit on the aerodynamic side. Mavic Ksyrium SSL would be my choice - but until i save up another £500 I'll keep with the Bontrager! Tyres again are a personal choice - and Michelin Pro-Race are the best i've had for both puncture resistance and speed - the Bontrager tyres that come with the bike are fine for spares!!
