25% thicker than standard and more rigid. Ultra strong and very durable. Another Unicorn innovation thats being used increasingly by professional players.
Advantages: Non-taxing easy read, some comic elements Disadvantages: Lacking in substance, trying to do too much but ultimately neither fish nor fowl!
The Flight of the Maidens by Jane Gardam has got a great looking cover (not the version pictured here) and so perhaps I fell into the age-old clichéd trap on judgment! Nevermind the picture, the reviews quoted are highly enticing - I now wonder if in fact this is the cover to another book altogether!
The novel is set in a Yorkshire seaside town in the post-war summer of 1946, and centres around three eighteen year old girls Hetty, Una and Lieselotte. At the start of the novel they each receive scholarship letters to university and we then follow how they spend the summer months before they leave their hometown for pastures new. Thus far so good, this premise seems to set us up nicely for a light rites of passage tale. However, as the three friends split apart for the summer with barely converging plotlines there becomes just too ...
Advantages: Good value for money, increased workout choices Disadvantages: Limited target settings
After using the original Wii Fit game for about a year, I found the Wii Fit Plus to be a big improvement, and good value at only £20. It automatically transfers all your saved data from the Wii Fit so you don't have to start over.
I found the major improvement to be the facility to program a workout, rather than just being able to do individual exercises as before - it means a much better workout overall as you don't have to keep stopping and selecting exercises. You can either select a preset workout from the menu or customise your own using your favourite bits.
There are a number of new excercises present as well which I found great as I did start getting a bit bored with the limited selection on the original Wii Fit.
The calories/target section is a bit of a let down, you can set a target for calories to burn each day but these are ...
Advantages: fun, easy to use, great for kids Disadvantages: it's not enough to cause a large weight loss so if thats what your hoping for try something else.
The new wii fit plus comes with a variety of new games and settings including being able to target specific body areas. This game is a fun extension of the orginal wii fit, it has all the same features with some added extra's so if you don't already have wii fit there's no need to buy it just the wii fit plus and the board. I recommend wii fit plus for keeping the kids and adults entertained but not as a fitness program. The new games are highly entertaining with the same fromat as the orginal wii fit so it's very easy to use. The new routines are a great new addition because you can put in a target area and there are 3 activities that are specific to that area, or you can make your own routines for a training programme or just if you want to 3 games in a row so yout dont have to keep stopping between playing.
Overall though FUN ...
