The Astral, from Vango, combines the best of the old bag features with a lot of the new. The bag has a welcoming hood with modern insulation for campers and caravanners that prefer more homely designs and colourways with lots of comfortable leg and foot space. A very useful feature with the Astral is its ability to be zipped to a second to make a cosy double.
Inside is a brushed flannel lining that is soft, comfortable, perspiration wicking and the bag is washable. Included is its own carry case for easy packing, transportation and storage. The IFTH tested sleeping bag is a superb choice of bag for the Spring and Summer months ahead.

...The Vango Ultralite range of sleepingbags are not the cheapest on the market but you get what you pay for - excellent quality.
The 1100M bag comes in right or left zip version and is rated at 3-4 seasons - which means it should do you most of the year round in the UK.
I have certainly never had a cold night in it.
It is filled with Thermolite Plus which makes it very warm but still quite light and compact. It has a shoulder baffle which really helps to keep the cold out when the weather turns a bit chilly.
I have found all Vango products to be of an excellent quality and this sleepingbag is no exception - I would have no hesitation in recommending it to a friend.
please rate this opinion before you leave - thanks!...

Advantages: Converts from small to large as your child grows! Disadvantages: It can't make the sun shine when you're camping!!
...Ideal for camping with small children - the bottom zips off and a circular piece zips on to create a proper \'foot\' for small children and as they grow you can zip the bottom section back on. Whilst the bottom is zipped off, you can use it to store the rest of the sleepingbag in, although there is a separate stuff (compression) sack as well. There is a left and a right hand zip so it\'s easy to get your child in and out of the sleepingbag. The hood is elasticated with no dangerous strings or toggles and the inner is a snuggly cotton to keep your child cosy all night long. It comes in blue or in pink - we\'re delighted with it as it fills the gap nicely between baby and adult sleepingbags....

...This sleepingbag has served me well for a long time. I have had it for a few years now and it isn't even showing signs of wear. Vango has not disappointed.
Although it is relatively expensive you are paying for quality.
I have trekked with this in my pack and it has left plenty of room for all the other essentials, such as tent, clothes, food, etc... This sleepingbag is definately a great buy.
My only problem with it is that it did not keep me warm in the winter, but this was to be expected as it is not advertised to be all that effective in conditions below -10 degrees.
I would recommend this to any serious camper/hiker for the spring/summer months.
It is easy to pack down and compress in the bag given, with compression straps. Ends up in at a very manageable size, although not the smallest you can get. The price reflects...
