COMPLETELY REWRITTEN
Victorinox are the makers of the original Swiss Army Knife. The cyber tool is a relatively new novelty and is part of the equipment used by the N.A.S.A shuttle crew. So what do you get for your money? and how handy is it?
The complete package is quite cumbersome. When I first received this all the tools were extremely difficult to open from the main body. Very unyielding. I found this very awkward and unmanageable to start with. With regular use, the tools though still difficult to get at are loosening slightly. I haven’t found a need to use them all yet so some are still stiffer than others. Give it 6 months and they should be comfortable to open.
How easy are the bits to use:
Because they are so small to grasp they take a while for you to adapt to them. So far I have used the toothpick, knives, wire cutters, and mini screwdriver with the flat head on a regular basis. Others have been used but not regularly. I carry it with me and use it mainly in the garage.
With 34 tools on board this is quite heavy. I haven’t any scales so cant give you the weight but it does lie heavily in your pocket. I don’t like the transparent case but this is the only gripe I have.
My favorite, and most used tool to date is the mini flat-headed screwdriver. I have already tightened my glasses, replaced a tiny screw in a motorbike model and opened a model paint pot lid with it. Ever had a fiddly screw you couldn’t reach because your tools were too large. Well this is the boy for you.
Every man/woman desires a toy, no matter their age. This retails at £49.95 but is well worth the money spent. Go on treat yourselves

How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
In general I find Victorinox as good a supplier in their chosen area as is available however I would still prefer them to use high carbon steel in knife blades rather than stainless steel as due to reasons pertaining to crystal structure and metallurgy you simply cannot get as good an edge on stainless as on high carbon steel. Where rust is not too pressing an issue the sharpness of the blade should be given greater weight I feel. The long-term durability of the various tools is probably good as the manufacturer is of the highest quality but this would be a useful addition to your comments. For instance do the bits wear so as to round over and grip screws less well with time? David
