Virgin Active Croydon - It Didn't Work Out

Advantages: Clean, functional, has all key facilities and equipment.
Disadvantages: Cramped, basic and has a poor ambiance.

regular exercise, and so upon taking up my current role at a college in South London, I soon sought out a gym that was close to where I was living at working. Virgin Active Fitness Club in the Grants complex, Croydon, fitted the bill in this respect and I?ve been a member there since November 2008. Why Did I Join a Gym? There are many reasons for joining a gym. These include vanity; concern about health; a desire to improve fitness for sporting or professional reasons; programmes for recovery from injury; and no doubt various other reasons that haven?t even crossed my mind. My gym-going is a combination of the above. Vanity probably takes top spot; I?ve got no desire to possess body-builder biceps or even a modest six-pack, but I am always trying to manage my weight. Virgin - Active enough for me

Advantages: Clean, friendly, good for all fitness levels
Disadvantages: Expensive

which has a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, sanarium and a range of different temperature showers, including an ice bucket (no thanks!). It's very relaxing with sunbeds around the outside so you can even lie/sit and read the paper. I've always seen them leave with smiling faces so I assume they enjoy it. Other facilities include personal training and swimming classes, that you have to pay for. Overall, I really like using the gym, don't get stared at for being the red-faced unfit one, and find everyone really friendly, none of the 'macho' culture that I found as a member of Fitness First. ...

Review of Virgin Active Fitness Club, Leeds

Get fit!!

Advantages: activities, cleanliness, very large, great customer service
Disadvantages: price slightly high

i attended virgin active a few months back now and after being shown around i become a member. The facilities available in the gym are absolutely fantastic, these include swimming pool, weights, CV equipment, Yoga equipment, Sauna, Steam room, Tanning beds, and a variet of classes such as boxing, cycling, circuits and light weights yoga, so everything for everyone really!! The layout is very good i think, and the cleanliness and space of the changing facilities was to an incredible standard. There was also an indoor cafe with food and drink and internet acess available too. If you have kids there is a club they can be taken care off and they can also partipate in kids events such as birthday parties, classes, football, swimming and many more. If anyone enjoys the gym i would recommend Virgin as it has everything you or your family could ...
