Advantages: Nice to ski on, effortless turning Disadvantages: Have had bad experience with prevoius model
...I have been skiing since I was 3 years old am now am 21. I have been on the world circuit most of my life and have been in the German national ski team and won German national titles at a young age.
A team member and I both bought a previous model of Volklcarvers (orange ones) and although they are and excellent ski we both had problems with the bases. During training in New Zealand on a rocky face there was a small land slide with pebbles scattered across the slope.
After skiing through this trying to aviod as much as we could we later found that our bases had huge chunks taken out of them by the pebbles. They were huge gored out grooves and we were not impressed!. Later that season I crashed in a downhill event and snapped one of my skis.
So the only problem was that they broke on me and that the bases were similar in strength...

Advantages: Good in difficult slopes, accurate handling in most situations Disadvantages: Handling in high speed not most accurate
...Based on my experience, Fischer Alltrax Border-X is a good carver for advanced users. I have used it in standard downhills (not off from the slopes) and it offers good grip from the slope.
The handling in high speed is, however, not the most accurate in the market.
Fischer Alltrax Border-X is pretty durable and it most likely will last for a long time. Mine are >2 years old and they are in good shape.
Hardnes is only average eventhough it contains Fischer Vacuum inner. But, like said, this carver is not meant for high speed.

Advantages: Extreme Performance! Disadvantages: Demands to be worked hard, not for lazy cruising, pricey

This is an aggresive ski that demands to be driven hard. It is a wonderful carver with good edge performance from start to finish and a powerful tail to end your turns. The ski sports some of the same technologies as Atomics Beta Race series and this shows once you get the into the skis sweet spot and it does everything you ask of it.
This ski is not designed for cruising or lazing around, you really won't get the most out of it that way. Treat it right and it's lots and lots of fun....
