I have been skiing since I was 3 years old am now am 21. I have been on the world circuit most of my life and have been in the German national ski team and won German national titles at a young age.
A team member and I both bought a previous model of Volklcarvers (orange ones) and although they are and excellent ski we both had problems with the bases. During training in New Zealand on a rocky face there was a small land slide with pebbles scattered across the slope.
After skiing through this trying to aviod as much as we could we later found that our bases had huge chunks taken out of them by the pebbles. They were huge gored out grooves and we were not impressed!. Later that season I crashed in a downhill event and snapped one of my skis.
So the only problem was that they broke on me and that the bases were similar in strength ...

I'm really not quite sure where I stand on the movie Carver, its either pretty good or diabolically awful, I'm caught some way in the midsection on this one.
Made on a ridiculously tight budget Carver follows the adventures of five young sexy people as they stop off in a rural location while enjoying some "away" time from the rest of the world. After speaking to a creepy bartender in a roadside bar, they volunteer to go to his isolated shack to carry out an errand. Rather than just doing as they are asked however they decide to break some locks and examine his collection of home 8mm footage. Believing that they are watching some low budget horror movie (rather like the one they are appearing in), they are appalled at the violent deaths that feature in the film. But as they get away from the shack it becomes apparent all too much ...

Advantages: A decent, addictive story Disadvantages: A little confusin if you haven't read Accident Man
Sam Carver has a habit of making bad things happen to even worse people. He uses his services to rid the world of incredibly bad people, but now he has found himself waking up in a Swiss Sanatorium and worse still he finds the woman he loves is gone. Now after months of lying around not really knowing who he was it's all come back to Carver and now he realises he must get his strength back and find her, no matter who gets in his way.
This is another of the many books I've never heard of but picked up cheap whilst walking around a Supermarket. Now quite often this is a gamble and you can end up with 2 or 3 terrible books for every good one, but thankfully my first encounter with Tom Cain was certainly one of the better ones.
