I bought one of these rugs for my Part Bred Arab who is a bit of an akward shape last winter and have been ever so pleased with it. It is completely breathable so can be used in rain or shine
The thing which seems to impress me the most is that the rug has a design for Dart Gussets which is fantastic for my horse as it allows that little bit better fit around the shoulder area, which is where most horses tend to get rub marks. It means that the rug can skim the horse's body perfectly. The extra long tail flap design harnesses the wind tucking the fabric in around the horses bottom area keeping out all those extra draughts when the horses bottom is facing the wind.
The rug itself is made from 1260 Denier polyester with a nylon mix outer, it is 100% waterproof and breathable teflon coated outer fabric keeps the horse dry in wet conditions but still allows sweat to evaporate efficiently. The rug which i have is the heavy weight version which is filled with 360g of Polyfil & 180g in the neck portion it has nylon lining which prevents rubbing as well as keeping the horse's coat shiny which cotton lined rugs tend not to do.
The rug has elastic inserts at the surcingles provide extra bit of give when the horse rolls. Also it has rubber surcingle stoppers which help to prevent the surcingles coming undone during rolling. Normally i would use some spare plaiting bands for this job, but weatherbeeta provide them for you which is a really great safety feature with the rug. Clip and dee front closure is an absolute godsend when your hands are frozen and it makes the rug far easier and quicker to change instead of fiddling around with straps and buckles. Inside the rug you find a I.D label for horse and owners details - great if you are on a livery yard with more than one owner having the same rug, and like with all other Weatherbeeta rugs it comes as standard with removable, and adjustable leg straps with swivel clips for easy fastening.
It has certainly been the best buy rug that i have bought for a long time and i would thoroughly reccommend one to any horse owner, especially with that akward shaped horse
