Made from thick grip neoprene with strong velcro strap fastening. Designed to give greater protection to the fetlock without impeding the movement of the joint
Advantages: Selection of sizes, Cheap. Disadvantages: Fall down, Nylon straps can stretch.
I bought these boots about three years ago after reading about them in one of the horse magazines. Westropp has been going for years so they are a reputable company.
My horse is a 16.2hh TB x so I went along to my saddlers and bought a pair in the Large size.
Fitting them was easy and the clip buckles are easy to use.
What first attracted me to them was that they were made of neoprene bound with PVC padding which I thought was good for the horse as some of the leather knee boots can be quite hard and stiff.
I hack out quite alot and these were a must have buy.
For the first time I ensured the boots were properly fastened and in the right place which wasnt a problem.
However half way into the ride I discovered that one of the knee boots had fallen down, luckily we had stopped and another rider had alerted me.

Advantages: Very durable, easy to clean and effective Disadvantages: None
I have two ponies, both of whom wear a pair of Bioflow BrushingBoots.
I initially purchased a pair for my 18 year old Welsh Cob, who suffers from arthritis in her fetlocks.

The styling is not the most modern, but it is practical and they do look good.
The boots are very sturdy. I opted for the brushingboots as my ponies live out and I thought these would be more practical. They have very strong velcro straps and my ponies, both of whom are very good at removing boots have not managed to lose them at all! They fit very ...

Brushingboots are boots that help prevent injury when the horse brushes. Brushing is caused by either conformation, when the legs are close together, they may rub together every now and again. Or, young horses may brush sometimes as they are unbalanced generally when they are young. Horses may be more likely to brush when doing fast work, or work on uneven ground. They may even brush when they are running around the field. Whilst some horses are more prone to brushing than others, most will have a slight injury at one time due to knocking themself with their own leg. Horses wear metal shoes which can cause injury it they knock themselves with their shoe. Generally it is ...
