Its on the ball

Advantages: efective little cleaner
Disadvantages: Noisy

I have a small home so when I needed a new vacuum cleaner I chose the Dyson DC24 which is a smaller version of the standard model. It cost £189.99. I was expecting almost a child sized vacuum cleaner but there is not really much difference at all. It was so simple to put together, there are peel off stickers on the unit to explain things as you go. It only took me 5 minutes to have it assembled. The ball makes vacuuming effortless, and the head of the vacuum is narrow so its easy to get under the sofa, low tables, etc. It has strong suction as you would expect from a Dyson but it is surprising how full the cylinder is when you have finished. It really gets everything up. This does mean however that you need to empty the dust cylinder quite frequently. The power cable is short and not retractable which can look a bit untidy if it is ...

Review of Dyson DC24 BALL ALL Floors

Different at first but a fantastic ball!

Advantages: Soft enough to be good on greens but still goes a good distance. Price.
Disadvantages: Strange at first due to unusual dimple pattern.

ball is different to most other balls available in the sense that it has 312 shallow, flat-bottomed dimples which are supposed to give the ball a high, controllable trajectory. The dimple design is known as having "PhD advanced design". Further technology is found in the balls' nano tech core which is chemically engineered to produce a lively but soft centre to the balls' construction. The ball also features a resilient HPF Mantle layer (developed by DuPont Chemicals) which is designed to give players the greatest possible acceleration off the club face and generate higher spin rates (to give more control to distance shots and more feel in the short game). This ball is part of a series of current Wilson Staff golf balls on the market at the moment. There is a two-piece construction (DX2), the PX3 is their three-piece ball and the top ball ...

Getting to The Core

Advantages: Good for killing spare time
Disadvantages: Scientifically flawed, weak film generally

Always keen to see a good movie, and always open to a new (or not so new) disaster film, when I saw that The Core was showing on one of the movie channels, and read the little description about it, I decided to put it on. Put simply, as the story is about the Core stopping spinning, I was curious as to how this could happen and ideas about what effects it would actually have should it ever happen. Story The Science Bit At the centre of the earth, around the solid iron core, is a liquid, moving rapidly and keeping energy going that powers the electro-magnetic field around the earth, apparently. For some reason, not initially known in the film, there is a slow-down in the movement of this liquid - and so the core of the earth threatens to stop spinning. This would apparently cause the electro-magnetic field to go crazy then ...
