Advantages: smashing, clearances, looks, maneuverability, control and offense Disadvantages: defense and price
This is Yonex's flagship model offering excellent maneuverability and immense POWER!
This review will be based on the Yonex arcsaber 10 with Yonex BG 85 string at 23lbs and Yonex super grap overgrip .
Prior to this racket i tend to use Carlton rackets as they tend to be cheaper. This is my first time using a head heavy racket and Yonex as well. Nevertheless, this racket is more suited for those who like to smash or hit powerful shots. The racket weighs around 85-89 grams strung, which is okay and most of the weight is on the head i.e. head heavy. The racket has various technologies such as cup stack carbon nanotube technology, which retains its shape quicker and the shaft offers excellent shock absorption and control. I noticed the head frame is a bit thinner which allows greater maneuverability and better smashing due to less air ...
Advantages: Lovely light racket, heady heavy makes it great for smashing. Disadvantages: I've broken three of these rackets pretty quickly!
Should be a great racket but I've broken three within a year. They all broke in the wooden handle, just where the handle meets the shaft!
I am only a club player, with a heavy smash and heavy backhand smash, so I assume that there have to be alot of better players out there, county, regional, national, who also break rackets! Perhaps they get sponsored by Yonex, so they don't care if the rackets break... or they don't dare say for risk of losing their deal!
Yonex have been good at replacing the rackets, through my retailer, but I think that a racket of £115 should last for years.
I think the racket breaks too easily, and I don't get sponsorship, so my three armortecs cost me £345!
I want a racket that lasts to restringing at least! ...
Advantages: A lot of power and a large sweet spot Disadvantages: Paintwork etc prome to being chipped away easily
Provided you have reasonably powerful legs and arms, and basic core strength this racket will treat you very well. It will deliver for you countless inside-out forhand winners and vicious down the line drives with great satisfaction and little effort. However, you do need strength to use this racket - and proper technique is a necessity if you plan on using any babolat. Countless times my friends attempt to use my Aero Pro Drive without proper tennis coaching and find balls spinning hopelessly over the court fencing!
This racket has massive power at its disposal but to release it without a lot of effort on your behalf you must have a consistent and effective technique in both bread and butter baseline swings. If you feel that this is the racket for you, i would recommend trying it (or any similar Babolat model) first to make sure you ...
