I often stop off in Varsity in York for a couple of beverages and a light snack as a break from shopping (any excuse for a pint or 5).
Varsity in York is situated in Lendal, York. It is a big place with a lot of comfy sofas both upstairs and down, a bar upstairs and down and a fairly large outdoor seating area with good seating facilities and waitress service.
There are only ladies toilets downstairs though which can be a bit of a pain in the butt! Although there is a good amount of cubicles. They are always clean and always have loo roll!
It is quite nice to go in during the day and chill out, but on a night it gets packed out full of students and the bar staff just seem to think next week will do when it comes to getting people served so I tend to avoid it on a night. The only positive thing to come out of it being full ...
