...The York Pacer 2120 is a home assembly product, but is quite straight-forward to put together. The instruction booklet is fully informative for the assembly procedure and includes details about proper set up to suit the individual user, as well as useful information about target zones for different health benefits. This treadmill works on a principle of magnetic resistance, so the belt is moved along by the power of your legs. The easiest way to move the belt is to set the treadmill at the steepest incline. Unfortunately, this means that you are always running uphill and soon feel the strain in the calf muscles. As your leg strength increases though, you are able to both adjust the resistance offered by the magnets and reduce the incline to achieve a more gruelling workout. Advantages: Exercise at home

...Well I did it - I bought myself a treadmill. As an ex-member of a fitness club I went for one of the bigger machines in the York range so that I had the option to run, the smaller ones will only reach a fast walking pace. The average walking speed reckons to be 6 - 7kph and this will reach 16kph (though not with me on it!) The machine cost £500 and came with a computer showing distance, speed, calorie counter and time with another display which shows your heart rate should you choose to plug in the chest strap provided. It has a scary looking but reasonably easy to follow installation and 'how to use' manual with lots of pictures to illustrate the assembly instructions - oh, and not forgetting the plastic water bottle. You are able to set either calorie, distance or time as your perimeter and the speed may be altered faster or slower... Read review

...Ever since the birth of my youngest daughter almost three years ago I seem to have been fighting a battle to lose weight - at times I seem to be winning and at others it's more like I'm losing, but one of the things that definitely seems to have helped was buying my York Pacer foldable treadmill. I used to be a bit of a gym addict, but with two young children I have neither the time nor the energy to spend evenings at the gym any more! In a moment of desperation, I said to my husband a couple of years ago 'If I can't go to the gym - why not bring the gym to me!'
