My Poor, Battered Helmet.
Review of Met Met Ippogrifo by LegendaryMrDude

Advantages: Looks, Weight, Straps, Safety
Disadvantages: Poor fit, Very hot

...It was very light. Apparently MET use a special manufacturing process that bonds a rigid plastic outer shell on to the shock-absorbing polystyrene inner. Which means that, weighing less than 300g you would hardly notice it and several times I bumped my head on the top of the shed while getting my bike out. But weight isn't everything and the most important feature of all is how well it protects your head in an accident. Here, I am happy to report, ...
...car I can categorically state that my trusty, good-looking, ill-fitting, over-heating Ippogrifo helmet saved my noggin. Obviously it didn't receive a direct blow from a car - that would have been a bit too much to ask. But it did get hit by some high-speed metal and plastic, sufficient to leave large chunks of the helmet (which would otherwise have been my skull) missing. Equally impressive, it took a hefty blow to the side, across my left temple ... Read review

Advantages: it protect your head

...on the outside are large bell logos and faint drawings of mechanics with what seems like dimensions on, dont ask why. the visor is exeptionaly use full as it protects your eyes from 8 oclock onwards untill about 4 0clock depending on the sunlight hours but you get my drift. anyway I would just like to say how sweaty you get in it it needs a couple more vents in it. other than that it makes me feel totaly protected, went biking in maer hills last ... Stylish lids for bouncing on yer bonce!
Review of Giro Giro Havoc 2005 by hukerjohn

Advantages: Stylish, lightweight helmet
Disadvantages: Fifty quid out of pocket!

...money in my head. Giro are a very good, well known manufacturer of cycle helmets. Both for extreme off road stuff and simple leisure cycling. The company started in 1985 when a man named Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in his garage. Business boomed and soon he had to take over his next door neighbours garage too. He goes on to invent helmets that not only provide aerodynamic superiority but also help the cyclist by ...
...particular Lance Armstrong, all wear Giro helmets. After a day of looking for a helmet I stumble upon the Giro Havoc helmet. I didn't want a shiny red and silver, or fluorescent green job - which most helmets seem to be - and the more muted colours such as matt grey all seemed to be out of my budget. However the Havoc did come in a matt gray finish and was within my £50 budget. The helmet is very light, it weighs a mere 290 grams (10.5 oz) and ... Read review

Giro Atmos 2006 Cycling Helmet
Review of Giro Atmos 2006 by matt_fantastic

Advantages: Lightweight & looks great ! Lance wears one !
Disadvantages: Expensive

Having had Giro helmets for a while, and my Helios hat being about 5 years old, I decided to buy a new hat a few months ago. I've worn it sevaral times a week for a while now, so thought I'd let you know about it ! The current advice on changing your bicycle helmet is to replace it after 5 years or so, even if it hasn't been involved in a crash, since pollution, UV light and weathering can apparently weaken its component parts over time. Not sure ...
...over being stingy ! Giro has been making quality light-weight cycling helmets since 1985. Giro is the helmet of choice for world famous seven times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, as it is for winners of mountain bike world championships, cyclocross world championships, Triathlon and Iron Man world championships. The Atmos is Giro's current top of the range model, primarily targetted at road cyclists, although just as suitable for mountain-or ... Read review

Giro Atmos - Look Cool!
Review of Giro Giro Atmos 2004 by faye_y2k

Advantages: Lightoweight, Looks Great!
Disadvantages: None

The Giro Atmos makes you look and feel great. The carbon fibre inserts make it very lightweight which makes it go un noticable so you don't feel as if you're riding round with a weight over your head. It uses a RocLoc system to give an adjustable perfect fit around the head. The Atmos has 26 vents which gives it great ventilation to keep your head cool on hot days, along with the coolmax paddings which can be taken out to be washed. It comes with ... Read review
