Shimano SPD M072 Cycle Shoe to infinity and beyond
Review of Shimano MO72 by skrg28

Advantages: Strong, well made, functional
Disadvantages: Nothing yet.

SPD INTRO Shimano M072 shoes are SPD cycling shoes so here's a quick explanation of what SPD is. For those who may not know SPD stands for Shimano Pedaling Dynamic. All very nice I hear you say, so to explain they are Clipless pedals. Basically you get a pair of shoes, bolt on some clips to the shoes, get a pair of SPD pedals which are like a clamp, step on the pedals and your feet are locked to the pedals. Rotating your feet to the side then releases ...
...GENERAL Shimano mountain bike shoes have been around for a number of years now and in my opinion if you are a user of SPD pedals then you can't beat Shimano PSD shoes for reliability. I have used number if different types over the years, most of which I cant remember the name off and ones that usually found the bucket because they broke before their time. Overal lthey are a well made and finished shoe, no loose stitching and no bad cuts to the materials. ... Read review

These boots were made for ...
Review of Shimano MT21 Cycling Shoes by trevorbrock

Advantages: Very well priced entry to SPD pedalling.
Disadvantages: Cumbersome, heavy and insensitive for road bking.

...reality. This is your answer. Shimano have sized the pair I have at 48 ! - maybe they are thinking of ages rather than foot sizes. Even when I am trying to get shoes that have plenty of space for my leg extensions, I never go above a UK size of 12 - or 46 in these euro sizes. But Shimano require me to go for 48! And this issue with Shimano is well documented. So if you are a diminutive person with size 4 shoes and long to be able to tell folk ...
...of mountain bikes. *********************************** Shimano have been helpful in giving these shoes an MT prefix - intended to inform purchasers and suppliers, that these are perfectly suited to cyclists whose preferred form of sport is on muddy tracks up mountain sides! This fully explains the thickness of sole, the depth of tread and the general weight of the shoes. It is anticipated that the owner will want to walk and climb in these boots ... Read review

Lake Boots beat jack frost
Review of Lake MXZ301 Winter Cycling Boots by Greasylake

Advantages: Warm, dry, fit like a glove!
Disadvantages: Pricey

...I'd been eyeing up these Lake boots for ages, but they aren't cheap, and it took a particularly cold, foot numbing ride, to convince me to take the plunge. I live and ride in South Wales, not the coldest place in the UK I'll be the first to admit. But riding the Skyline Trail in Glyncorrwg, during mid winter, can be dam chilly at times. I'm normally a size 42/43, but I ordered a pair of 44's, to give my toes plenty of room. Out of the box the boots ...
...first frosty outing wearing the Lake boots. It was well below freezing, well a couple of degrees below, and at no stage during the 3 hr ride did my feet even begin to feel cold. The boots did a great job of keeping the heat in, and keeping the cold (and everything else) out. The soles were stiff, and there was no problem using the boots with my Time Attack's. I was chuffed (very pleased), no more cold feet for me. I've had the boots for a while ... Read review

Good looking multi-purpose bike shoes
Review of Five Ten Impact Lo by fuzzyfelt

Advantages: Sticky rubber, good looking
Disadvantages: Not even remotely waterproof

As always with 5.10 footwear, the rubber is fantastic, even on muddy/wet pedals. Also, unlike many bike shoes, these actually look good too. And they're comfortable to walk in. However, this shoe is not waterproof, not one little bit, so if you like your feet to stay dry you'll have to wear waterproof socks, or maybe try 'proofing them (dunno if you can do this?) - or buy something else. I have to admit, I don't wear these as a bike shoe all the ... Read review

shimano M035
Review of Shimano SH-M035 by Bairsty

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: funny sizing

...the lower end of the shimano range but offers great value for money when picked up on - line at end of season sales. Tough suede and rubber shell with cambrelle lining makes for a comfortable shoe, both laces and velcro strap offer adequete fastenings and it looks pretty good, a stiff sole allows fairly comfortable walking when needed. Sizing can be a problem due to the ridiclues small system that cycle shoes go by. Its a narrow shoe so make sure ... Read review
