Adidas F50's are a very useful bit of kit!
Review of Adidas F50 by
JM1234
Advantages: Easy to wash, Lightweight and fashionable.
Disadvantages: Not much.
Theses Adidas F50's have impressed me very greatly. I played in these all last season and they allowed more flexibility in my feet. It is very light weight meaning it improves speed and allows you to run faster. It has inter changeable soles and also inter changeable studs for different conditions. They are also available in many different colours, including green, black, blue and red. The material that is used is also very easy to clean as all it ...

Low cost astro trainer that grips and rips!
Review of Reebok Typhoon Astro by
akgandrew
Advantages: Great traction, great look and hard wearing
Disadvantages: Heavy, hard uppers.
At a first observation these trainers looked smart and seemed to have everything you want. The price tag suggested otherwise and on trying them out I realised why they were low price. This is not to say they are not great value for money though. The grip of the trainers is great allowing for excellent control of dynamic movements without restricting movement and risking injury. I know this as I am studying astroturf footwear as part of a Phd. As ... ...one problem, their weightis a bit too heavy which means you are left with tired legs and a lack of spring in your step. The uppers provide not enough give which can lead to abrasive injuries and also leaves you with a slight degeneration in the feel when playing football.. However they look stylish and for the price they are good value. Would recommend for recreational players of astroturf based sports. ...

Budget astro trainers for players not posers.
Review of Mizuno Cup Final Astro by
akgandrew
Advantages: sturdy hardwearing trainer
Disadvantages: heavy, not aesthetically pleasing.
At a first observation these trainers looked quite dull and didn't have much of an innovative modern look.. The price tag was reasonable though £24.99 and on trying them out I realised why they were low price. The grip of the trainers is suitable and allows for good control of dynamic movements without restricting movement and risking injury. I know this as I am studying astroturf footwear as part of a Phd. As far as these trainers go regarding performance ... ...for skillfull quick footed players which means you are left with tired legs and a lack of spring in your step. The uppers provide reasonable give which can help in restricting abrasive injuries. The cushioning aspect of the soles is pretty good and will help protect agaist impact shock injuries. However they just don't look very stylish but for the price they are good value. Would recommend for recreational players of astroturf based sports who are ...

A good old, durable football boot
Review of Nike Tiempo Pro S.G. by
jondav
Advantages: A comfortable, durable football boot
Disadvantages: A little clumsy
The Nike Tiempo Pro SG is a lightweight boot designed for durability and comfort. It is indeed very comfortable when worn and has lasted me many Saturday afternoons! The Tiempo Pro SG is relatively cheap and can be found at between £15-£30 second hand.
The boot is made from "full grain leather with a Duraplush collar lining" which does give the boot a comfortable feel.
The SG is to be used on soft surfaces but it does have interchangeable studs ... ...corresponding studs can be purchased from most sports shops. The boot does have good control, although as I talk of later, it is a little clumsy looking.
The boot also has a forefoot lip which enhances durability and can be tucked over the laces. The boot's only negative that I have found, is that compared to the new generation of streamlined boots, the boot looks a bit clumsy and the style is very basic to say the least!
This boot is available ...
