Protection or Mobility
Review of Adidas Team Vuelo by
moffatt7
Advantages: Light, full protection, ankle support
Disadvantages: Less mobility around the ankle area, due to the affor mentioned support
...to worry about with the Adidas Team Vuelo Shin pads.
I am sorry to say that i have now invested in a new pair of shin pads, i say this not to highlight the dislike in the Team Vuelo, but to clearly state that these pads are suitable for many purposes and positions, but from a personal perspective, the support and protection is secondary to mobility and quick movement.
The ankle area is elasticated but is still very thick. In turn the velcro straps ...

Sondico Coolmax Shinguard
Review of Coolmax Pro Shinguard by
PMBS
Advantages: Strong, safe, very protective and extremely comfortable
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
My experience of the Coolmax Shinguards is a little different from most people's as I never actually wear them for football because I don't play! Hopefully this review will still be useful though.
My job involves moving a lot of heavy equipment, most of which is at shin level, and after painfully gashing my shins for the 1000th time I decided to protect them. I haven't been able to find any suitable industrial-type protective guards so I decided ... ...time. The Coolmax shinguards are my favourite yet. They have a tough protective polypropylene shell and foam padding and are lined with Coolmax material that does a great job of whisking sweat away from your skin. I cut the ankle protection sock off because it wasn't needed and they still fit fine. I've found the protection they offer is superb. They've saved me from injury many times and now need replacing (with another pair of Coolmax guards!) ...

Mitre or mitre not
Review of Mitre Duo Shield by
milesy19912007
Advantages: extensive protection to shins and ankles
Disadvantages: last seasons style, baulky and hardly a fashion statement.
...these shinpads are that with mitre you have peace of mind over the quality and durability, at a premium. These shinpads have ankle protectors which will help to protect your ankles from serious impact injuries, they will not however prevent twisted ankles etc. The good thing about them is that they are now relatively cheap and do provide you with good protection around £8 online. However now to the bad side they only have a very simple design and ... ...to more modern counterparts around 0.4kg in size large. Where their addidas equivalents weigh just 0.26kg and believe it or not these slight variations can be the edge you need to get to the ball. Especially for the slower runner for whom i would advise to buy the lightest boots and shinpads. A good pair of boots for low weight are pumas that can be bought for as little as £20 online in last seasons styles. However the lighter shinpads may not provide ...

Not perfect but almost
Review of Nike Air Shield Shinguard by
NottzFan
Advantages: Very well protected with these on
Disadvantages: still not perfect
Nike Air Shin pads
These have got everything along with a big price tag
I have worn many shin pads in my time as I play for a local Saturday club. You wouldn't believe it but shin pads are massive part of the game. It is crucial you have sufficient shin pads on while playing a competitive match, well the referee wont let you play with out them any way. The shins are one of the most painful places to get hurt. Shin pads really will stop any damage ... ...very sweaty situation.
These Nike Air Shin Guards look really good, although that's not surprising coming from Nike. You can get them in many different colours the ones I have got are the red and silver ones. They look impressive and would embarrass Umbro shin pads for the looks. The shiny material used on these pads are often notice even through socks so I might look a bit silly in some cases, but you cant have it all your way.
The guard really ...

Your shins saved!
Review of Nike Tiempo by
kingbill
Advantages: Stops your shins from breaking!
Disadvantages: smell after a while!
...available. Onto the Nike Tiempo. These were my first choice a short while back as they look very sturdy and they are so comfortable that during the 90mins you cannot even feel them as they are as light as paper. Sostrength and comfort, I`ll give them marks of 4/5 strength and 5/5 for comfort.
The only way they will break is by being booted by an opponent and believe me this happens at a lower level very often. If they do break however, no problem, ... ...on the park! And the Nike Tiempo are the ones to buy!
(Marks out of 5)
Strength 4
Got kicked and kicked again and the pads are still in one piece as well as my shin.
Comfort 5
Cant even tell theyre on when you get going.
Durability 5
Last as long as you need them really.
Value 5
Cheap as chips and excellent value
Practicality 5
Perfect as a shin pad and saves the old bones from destruction.
Overall a stunning 5/5 and a great buy!
Well ...
