Colossus I have recently had to suffer the awful carrydown conditions at the bowling alley that I bowl at twice a week. This has been the situation at Tolworth (Charrington Bowl) since the introduction of synthetic lanes at this centre last September. For some unknown reason the lane maintainer insists on applying two layers of oil before the league sessions in the evening. This produces a massive carrydown of oil at the backend.
