wow that was FAST
Review of Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150 GB by
sam103329
Advantages: amazing speed and cuts of bottlenecks
Disadvantages: its a bit expensive but it has good results
...this is the perfect thing to get rid of that bottleneck in your new gaming system this baby runs at 10000rpm meaning read and write speeds that will literally do it before your finger has poped of the mouse after the click its a amazing peice of hardware and i reccomend it to anyone that has a gaming system. this hdd really improves boot time game loading time and search and retreive time , you amy think its hefty for a fdd but if you dont get this your entire system will be dragged down by your 7200rpm storage. its quite loud but im sure if your overcloking your system you fans will get rid of that it isnt too loud just a tad louder than the usual . its a superb hard drive i reccomend it to you its a good upgrade for the hardcore gamer get this before you go quad or get a new cpu you will see the bggest difference good luck it wworh...

WD SE16 250GB
Review of Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250 GB by
offspringy
Advantages: Fast, Large Storage, Cheap, Clever, Reliable, Easy install
Disadvantages: n/a
...spinning at 5.400RPM would not be able to seek as quickly as a faster drive.
Speeds:
5.400RPM (standard - home computing)
7.200RPM (fast - workstation/games)
10.000RPM (extremely fast - gaming servers)
15.000RPM (rare drives - not SATA based)
Interface:
PATA (old format hard drives - usualy extinct)
ATA (fading format - still around, 100mbp/s)
S-ATA (quite popular - 150mbp/s)
S-ATAII (newest format - 300mbp/s) sometimes refered to as S-ATA-3G (some people beleive it transfers at 3GB's a second - not true)
This drive is SATA-II and will keep you in the technology ring for quite a wile, as long as you have a SATA-II compatible motherboard)
Hope you found this review useful?...

TDR125 - the fun bike
Review of Yamaha TDR125 by
tomsmith500
Advantages: lots of fun to ride, great handling, funky looks
Disadvantages: slow, requires lots of modifications to get the best performance (but it's worth it!)
...acceleration to 50mph, but as you crawl up to 70mph the rpm's are nearing the 10,000 redline. Not good if you value your engine.
In order to really release the potential of this little bike you need to replace the whole exhaust with an aftermarket variety: an Arrow system is the best. This is far lighter than the original Yamaha and looks and sounds great. There are no silly restrictors and best of all no catalytic converter! This system really makes use of the TDR's derestricted power and at 7,000 rpm the 2 stroke powerband kicks in and off you go.
The next thing that needs to be sorted is the gearing. The most popular modification is to swap the 16 tooth gearbox sprocket for a 17 tooth version. This will lower the rpms by about 500rpm for each gear. So 60mph will be 7,500 rpm, 70mph will be 8,500 rpm, 80mph will be 9,500rpm and 90mph...

Powerball - Powerful Fun
Review of NSD Powerball by
Massey42
Advantages: Addictive, strengths wrist, excellent returns policy
Disadvantages: Some find it tricky to master, you'll never put it down!
.... It is recommended for muscle building that you keep the rpm above 9000 rpm for longer periods of time, I use the total revolutions function to set targets, for example 10000 revolutions alternating hand for as many change overs as possible. This really hurts and is a good way to build strength.
The 30, 60, 90second mode is very good for competing against friends as takes into account both starting skill and strength at the same time. I find it the most effective way to train with the powerball as it focuses you on putting maximum effort in to beat your opponent!
There are many different positions highlighted on the powerball website which supposedly work on different muscle groups, from your forearm right up to your deltoids and pectorals. Although I think the powerball is a very effective tool for building forearm and wrist strength I am still...

1.6 dohc 16 v Vtec
Review of Honda CRX by
Rogue_Leader
Advantages: Good looking, reliable, fast and fun
Disadvantages: blind spots to the left and right
...then the power band opens and then she moves!!!! reving upto 10,000rpm, but this is ideal, as my girlfriend drives the car most of the time, she never even comes close to hitting 5500rpm!!!
The car is a jap import and i had problems getting a new exhaust. I could have opted for a performance exhaust, but i do not like the sound of them, so i opted for a genuine honda replacement part. I visited many local, companies eg, quick-fit, nation tyres etc
but these could not supply a replacement exhaust ( One company offered to bend a rover exhaust to fit......NO TA!!!) so i had to go through a specialist in chester and the new exhaust system cost £280 for the centre and back box, However the other parts like brake pads etc are standard uk parts.
The car is very well built, with electric everything, a/c, A.B.S etc and the main part of the roof can...

Raptor Or Craptor?
Review of Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74 GB by
jjqburch
Advantages: Fast, Easy
Disadvantages: Expensive, Noisy, Small Capacity
..., and that’s where it has stayed. Only serious gamers or those with some spare cash would splash out on one of these Raptors because they do not come cheap and popular manufactures never supply them inside new PC’s. At 10000 rpm the Raptor series is the only series of Hard drives at that speed. It is roughly 30% faster than 7200rpm drives so in theory, it retrieves and loads data 30% quicker. This is good for pictures, music and programs running off this drive, but it only speeds up booting time by a fraction. I find it helps to speed up my system a bit, but the upgrade was, for me, not as significant as a new graphics card or processor.
No other manufacturer have made anything to compete, but Western Digital are fantastic quality and they offer good support and service. I would recommend Western Digital as a manufacture of any type of drive...
