...It has been a few years since I took my first and last 18 - 30 holiday (well actually more than a few years) but after reminiscing with my old travel companion, all sorts of memories that I just have to pass on have been rekindled, and many more that I absolutely, positively will not. I guess the first question is why a blue eyed angle such as my self would go on an 18 - 30 holiday. Well I was studying Leisure and Tourism at college and thought it was about time I took some of the theory and put it into practice, being a student I couldn’t afford to. My friend and I hit the travel agents and looked at anything that would get us away. The cheapest holiday we could find was with Club 18 - 30 to Costa Brava. ...Before my current car I owned a H reg Vauxhall Astra, this was a great little motor, she had central locking, electric windows, sunroof….flaky paint, rust and 150k on the clock!! The MOT’s every year had just increased as more work needed to be done, it worked out that it just wasn’t worth it! The work that needed doing was more than the value of the car (in fact, I think 6 months tax was worth more than the car!) I'd had the little blighter for nearly 4 years, she had done me proud, never broken down or anything (that’s why she was a she, good old girl lol!) So this year I’d had enough, I flatly refused to pay the money & refused to use the car again! I could get together a couple of hundred quid and get a much nicer car, it wouldn’t be newer – maybe by a year or so but it would look better... Read review

Advantages: Excellent taste

...The Highland Park 18 year old single malt is one of my all time favourites. I open the bottle and sniff it and I get a warm feeling all over. I've got a sense of expectation, cos I know how good it is. It is a malt which can be slightly difficult to find, the Supermarkets' don't carry the 18 (most carry the 12). However specialist online retailers, e.g Royal Mile Whiskies, Wee Dram etc do carry it, not to mention the distillery shop. Some Oddbins also carry the 18. It is also available in most good whisky shops. It retails at around £60 a bottle (Its' worth every penny). The 18 year old is the equivalent of a bottle of XO Brandy, its' actually slightly cheaper. Its got an alcohol content of 43% It comes from an impeccable pedigree, Highland Park is one, in my view, of Scotland's premier distilleries, located in the Highland Region... Read review
