Reviews of a 1200
epson 1200 is a great printer
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1200 by
blondie21
Advantages: great quality
Disadvantages: expencive
...We brought an epson stylus 1200 printer from a friend for the great price of £200,
this buy was well worth it if you intend to do a lot of printing in the photographic area, and if you wish to go bigger than A4, for this is an A3 printer.
I would recomend you buy this printer if you are heavily into photography, and want the best results.
If we had got this printer for such a great price we would have missed out on a great printer.
The disadvantage would have been the retail price, but still it would be worth it's weight in gold.
the quality is great when used with the specified paper....

Sadly disapointed
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
andyluk
Advantages: Fast at printing, very quiet, nice compact design.
Disadvantages: Poor colour printing, you have to change the colour and black and white cartidges around.
...I went out looking for a printer, mainly for printing pictures and artwork. I decided to go with the Lexmark Z11 because it look small and compact and didn't look too big and bulky like alot of printers out there do. I was also drawn to the printer because it stated it was 1200 x 1200 dpi, which i thought must have made it print out top quality pictures. So i bought the printer (£79.99, Toy story 2 pack). I set the printer up which was very easy and was delighted with the way it look taking up very little room etc. Soon as i started printing a few pictures out, the picture weren't coming out as good as what i had expected. All the light colours had faint horizontal lines. I checked if i'd put the printer on the highest quality setting, to find that 600 x 600 dpi was the highest for printing in colour. So the 1200 x 1200 dpi must just...

20,000 miles on a BMW K1200RS and a K1200GT
Review of BMW K1200RS by
niglom
Advantages: Comfort, speed, economy, ABS
Disadvantages: Weight, handling
...Let me qualify this report.
I've had a lot of bikes and have used them for fun, commuting and touring. I've had most makes (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati, Triumphs and BMW's), and some pretty fast ones too (stage 2 tuned 150 bhp CBR1100XX Blackbird). I have some experience with motorcycles, so what I say next will not sit easily with the magazine roadtesters (who mostly trarvel to work in cars and don't have to spend their own hard earned money on their rides).
The BMW K1200RS and the K1200GT are simply brilliant all round motorcycles.
It's like most things really, it all depends what you want things for. At 52 years old I want some comfort, some speed, the narrowness to filter through the London rush hour and the ability to munch the miles when needed. Have you ever tried to do 60 minutes on a Ducati Superlight? I did and I could...

Long term test on the 1200
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1200 by
bazone8
Advantages: Excellent photo quality output
Disadvantages: Takes time for an A3+ image - but just make a cuppa!
...I have now been using the Epson 1200 for a couple of years and have found the reliability excellent. Because I use it professionally for digital imaging, with the emphasis on high quality B+W images, my requirements are very stringent. I have been known for the highest quality conventional photographic quality, so I only moved into digital image output when this printer came on the market. It is still satisfying all my highest standards.
I print using the compatible and excellent PrintRite ink cartridges, which I have found give excellent stable images if printing on acid and wood free art papers. The finest found to date is the Bristol Board produced by Winsor & Newton.
The current equivalent Epson Stylus 1160 s also excellent, even though it only uses three colour inks, compared to the five of the 1200.
One tip is that the ink can...

Review of Technics SL-1200LTD Turntable by
andycharger
Advantages: Great little deck
Disadvantages: Looks a bit dated
...These little darlings were banging out tunes to dancefloors when people were raving with White gloves and a whistle in their mouths.
In fact these decks were where most of the big name DJs would have cut their vinyl teeth. Yes the SL1200 would now look decidedly more at home in someones house or flat due to their Shiny aluminium look. The shiny look as replace the black metal look in home Hi Fi so dig out your 1200s and get the parties going again.
There is very little difference between the 1200 and the 1210 other than the colour. Both are direct Drive masterpieces of mixing engineering. Technics buit their legendary name in the club world on the back of these decks while the 1210 has taken it to new heights.
Both set ups have a pitch control of +8/-8 and are instant Start/Stop so pick up time is nil.
Great for the beginner...

Technics 1200 / 1210 Mk2
Review of Technics SL1200Mk2 Turntable by
giles-y
Advantages: same turntable at home as in the clubs
Disadvantages: heavy
...Technics 1200 / 1210 what more can you say its the number one DJ turntable on the planet.
For years and years when i was younger just geting in to Djing all i wanted was a pair of technics.
after a few years with other direct drive decks i finally saved enough money to buy a pair i of technics, i bought the SL1200Mk2 because they were silver i did not like the brown of the 1210 much.
i have read around and talked to people and aparently the only difference between the 1200 and the 1210 is the colour.
I set up my new 1200s and got the tunes out. Wow what a turntable, after years of trying out all other types of direct drive turntables i could instantly see and feel the difference in build quality. the technics weight alot compared to any other turntable, this is because the bottom black base you see is not made of cheap moulded plastic...

Technics 1200's-the best and sexiest decks around
Review of Technics SL-1200 by
djjacko
Advantages: Nearly everything-the best decks by far.
Disadvantages: high price new9though it is justified), pitch control clicks into place at 0% pitch.
...Many decks claim to be better than the industry standard-the Technics SL1210 or SL1200-but none, in my opinion, come close. These are the best selling decks there are, so surely that shows how good they are. With +/-8% pitch, and very quick start up times, no wonder nearly all top DJs choose Technics as their weapon. The Technics decks have been around for years, but still look ready for business. Although there is no difference performance wise, I prefer the Technics 1200s to the 1210s. With their sexy silver finish and retro look, these decks would look at home anywhere, not just in the big clubs. Most of the cheaper decks copy the same layout as the 1200s and 1210s, which has now become the industry standard layout, though they cannot match their performance. The only small problem with them is that the pitch fader clicks into place...

The best all round Sport Cruiser
Review of Suzuki Bandit 1200S by
iceangels
Advantages: reliable, great power ,very nimble ,durable
Disadvantages: suspension a little soft, fairings buzzy
...The wife and I both ride Bandits hers is the 05, 650 and mine is a 06, 1200s , This is my second Bandit after my 04 1200 was wrecked by a guy running a red light, I've owned this series of Suzuki since the old 1985 gs750es and it is by far one of the most dependable motorcycles on the market. With all the years this motor combo has bean around up grading it is cheap and proven results are easy to get. As a great all round sport cruiser there is really isn't any thing close in it's price range and for me any price range.
The only improvement I would request from Suzuki would be a slightly firmer suspension as it is a little washy in corners although that is corrected by put a Busa rear shock in it and replacing the springs in the front with the progressive style. If you purchase the 1200s you might find the fairing a little buzzy...

Bandit GSF1200 Naked
Review of Suzuki Bandit 1200S by
DODGYbutwhy
Advantages: Trick parts and spares easy to find & cheaply.
Disadvantages: Need a neck brace for high speed on naked version
...Quite simply the most awesome machine on two wheels. I know it's a matter of preference but I've had the advantage of living the Sports bike versus Streetfighter scenario. I bought my Bandit 1200 this May after having a go on a friends,(incidentally mine isn't the 'S' model, but the only difference is the 'S' model is faired, otherwise they are the same bike) before that I had a Honda CBR600F for a couple of years. Yes, the CBR was quick but the Bandit is quicker. It is everything the CBR was and so much more.
The Bandit 1200 feels like it's attached to the rider. It almost talks to you. The handling is responsive and predictable and it leaves the rider confident throwing it into corners.
You hear people always talking about CC's and break horse, but the exciting bit is the torque. The Bandit 12 has is by the bucket load and whats more...

Average scanner
Review of Mustek 1200 CU by
Shaunc
Advantages: Cheap. Slimline.
Disadvantages: Always 'on', Average quality scans
...I purchased this USB scanner for around £60. It is a very slimline scanner in a stylish deep blue colour. Its top resolution is 1200 x 600 dpi which is more than enough for any task you have in mind. Realistically, 300X300dpi is what I use for most scans. Any higher and you end up with a file measured in gigabytes!
The 1200cu performs well. Is very quite and uses the new type of scanning head; a sort of long scanning head the fule width of the scanner as aopposed to a scanning head that move left/right as well as up down. A good range of software is included (OCR and photo software as well as twain drivers).
One major grip i have with this scanner is the way it is powered. Instead of drawing power from the USB cable, it requirs a separate power pack.. messy. There is no on/off switch and when I power the PC down, the scanner stays on...
