Good canon BJ i6500 A3 printer
Review of Canon i 6500 by
tomo359
Advantages: quite alot, in the review
Disadvantages: Not easy to tell what error lights mean.
...I haven't actually got this printer myself but i use it alot in school so i know alot about it.
Firstly the style of this printer. Its nothing special but is quite nice, good colour printer with a straight paper path.
The top has a power button, paper button and a colour LED. The bad thing about this bit is when the light is orange which means there is some sort of error, you cannot tell what it is. But it is usually easy to find out. The paper button allows you to cancel a print once it has already started and feed the current paper through. If you do this though and you have another printer after it, it takes a while for the next page to print and the light keeps flashing green.
About printing, this printer cam print from size A3+ down to things like envolope and other small media. It printer boderless on most sizes including the A3. I...

A3 and Quality?!?
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R1800 by
xxDanmanxx
Advantages: A3, brilliant quality, versatile, speedy
Disadvantages: high maintenance
...Recently, my company needed sever A3 posters printed up, and they left me with the task of finding a printer to do the job. It was high time we bought a new A3 printer, and we wanted one which could produce photo-quality print jobs, and so, on recommendation, we purchased the Epson Stylus Photo R1800.
Nearly all photo printers are designed with A4 or smaller in mine, so when I heard that this printer from Epson printed A3 I went out and bought it straight away, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. And don't worry, this machine doesn't only support A3 paper, you can adjust the paper guides for any paper size from 15cm x 10cm prints, through A4 and A3, to A3+, which measures 19 x 13 inches and enables borderless A3 prints and not only that you can also fit the supplied roll paper holder at the back of the printer so you can produce...

Canon S9000 - ink it great!
Review of Canon S 9000 by
a4angus
Advantages: Up to A3 (large) print size; Fast; Superb Results
Disadvantages: Small ink tanks
...As a replacement for my old Lexmark, this Canon is light years ahead.
What were my needs?
-------------------------------
- An A3 (wide format) printer to be able to self-print mini-poster size pictures
- Separate ink tanks (to reduce running costs)
- High quality - need this at A3 paper size (=double A4 size)
- Quiet
- Resonably priced
- Able to reproduce a 4 megapixel digital image at A3 in photo quality output
Source
----------
In order to get the best price, I sourced this from France via Nomatica. Eventually it was shipped from Germany (the benefit of a pan-European market).
There were delays in supply at the time but the price was at least £100 cheaper than the best UK source.
At over £250 this was not a cheap printer, but at the time was top of the Canon bubble jet technology.
What you Get
-------------------
Power cable...

Let's wait 100 years and see if it's true
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 2000P by
Bastien
Advantages: Light-resistant print-outs, print quality
Disadvantages: Ink use, price
...surpassed by the other Epson Photo's.
- 7pl dots: idem
- 6 colors: black, 2 shades of red, 2 shades of blue, yellow
Paper
+++++
This a A3+ printer. (A3+ is a bit larger than A3) All A3 printers by Epson are always A3+ as well.
Speed
+++++
Normal, but of course, for high-quality pics, you have to wait...
Picture quality
+++++++++++++++
Excellent! Although technically it seems a little surpassed by other Epsons (2880*720 dpi, 4pl), the difference is hardly noticeable. Beside, my personal preference goes to printing posters on "Matte paper".
Ink use
+++++++
It uses a lot of ink... and the ink is not cheap at all...
CONCLUSION
=
Interesting printer, good quality, but better wait till the next "2000P" is developped, and for these reasons:
- It costs a lot! (in Belgium almost twice the price of a Photo 1270)
- Not sure...

fast printer
Review of Canon i 9100 by
arthurthefantasticpenguin
Advantages: great quality
Disadvantages: price
...I have been using this printer for about 9 months and have found very little to complain about.
It produces excellent quality prints very quickly and is easy to use. The only real problem I have is resisting the temptation to print loads of A3 pictures- I would spend a fortune in ink if I did!
Printing is very quick even for A3, the quality is very good and you can do borderless prints. There are 5 ink tanks so you only replace them when a specific colour runs out rather than a general colour cartridge.
Make sure you have a big enough desk for it- it isn't small- but neither are A3 prints. To get best print results I found that canon's photo plus glossy paper is the best but most good quality paper gives good results.
Colour reproduction is very faithful - I rarely print a picture twice to correct it. Set up is pretty fool proof- I...

A stylish Stylus
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 2000P by
Lizzii
Advantages: No more running of to the lab for reprints
Disadvantages: The cost of paper and ink
...My husband is a amateur photographer and having taken some publicity photos for a local singer wanted to be able to digitally enhance his work and print it instantly without having to wait for a week or so, which he would have to with the photo lab. A new printer was needed anyway and after looking at several different types we decided to fork out just over £600 on the 2000P. It seemed a lot of money, but having had Epson before we were sure that it would deliver results, and thank goodness we were right.
The pack is fully complete and there are no extras to buy before you start, except paper, which even then Epson provide you with A4 samples of. The printer itself can take A4, A3 and rolls of paper, giving you a decent range of capabilities for a home photo printer. Ink is included and the colour cartridge is separate to the black...

HP 1220C
Review of HP Deskjet 1220c by
RICOUK
Advantages: Quick and good quality
Disadvantages: a lot of space required
...I bought this as my previous printer (HP1110) packed in. As a family we have had an A3 printer for a long time as both my brothers and I needed one for Design and Technology projects at school. I am still using it for the projects and this printer has easily printed 50 normal quality A3 pages off in a row with no problem.
It also prints B4, A4, B5 and letters plus anything upto 13X19". The quality stays the same no matter what size of paper you use and the speed is only slightly slower on A3 than on A4 paper.
It is easy to set up, plug the USB into the printer and your computer and Windows will auto detect it (Windows XP). There is a CD with maintenace stuff on but mine was corrupt and I have never needed it.
As the printer is USB the transfer is a lot quicker and unlike my old printer it does not use all of the CPU while printing...
