Just like Spanish football: Attractive and stylish
Review of Adidas Spain Home Shirt by
kingchris
Advantages: A great looking shirt, keeps you cool
Disadvantages: Not a lot really, letters might peel after a long while
...I was watching a few International matches before last years World Cup, and one of the teams that really caught my eye were Spain. They were playing free flowing, attacking football, that really was a joy to watch.
The Spanish football shirt is very good looking, so I decided that I would like it for the World Cup, so I could wear it when they were playing, (as long as England weren't playing the same day)! I didn't really want to pay full price for it, so I ordered it from EBay from about a tenner. It did take a while to arrive, but I got it in time for the World Cup!
DESIGN
The Spanish shirt is sponsored by Adidas, so it uses the design that all Adidas shirts have. The main idea of the design of the shirt is vents, vents and more vents! There is a large vent on the front and the back of the neck area. Then there is a strip...

Good looking shirt!
Review of Portsmouth Home Football Shirt by
shamis4
Advantages: great price looks and comfort
Disadvantages: last seasons shirt (but little difference to the new one)
.... They don't make many football shirts as they tend to focus on the whole on rugby teams and rugby shirts. But I therefore think this shirt is much better as I prefer the way rugby shirts are made and fit. Most football shirts are made by Nike or Adidas and I think this being made by Canterbury (the badge with three birds) makes it much different and more unique.
The main shirt sponsor which appears on the middle which is OKI and is a company which produces printers (so hopefully the club owns a few of these). And of course so that you are aware of this it says "printing solutions" underneath the big Oki sign.
On the back you can have the choice of having both a number and a name or a player of your choice or customise your own shirt with your favourite number and your name. f course this comes as an extra added cost to the actual shirt...

Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur - Mansion shirt
Review of Puma Tottenham Home Football Shirt by
craggybuk
Advantages: Ultra light - great for all occasions
Disadvantages: Spurs wording fades on the collar very quickly
...Ok, first things first, I have no idea why this is listed as a Kappa kit. It is made by Puma as Kappa made the older Thomsons kit. Right, now thats out of the way, on with the review.
Being a Spurs fan since 1981 I've had numerous kits down the years from manufacturers including Le Coq Sportif, Hummel, Adidas, Umbro and Kappa. All of these shirts at the time seemed great but only when newer styles come out do you realise the design flaws in them (the Kappa one for example was skin tight which looks great on a skinny Aaoron Lennon but not so on anyone like me with a bit of a porky belly).
Anyway, I decided to treat myself to the new Puma-Mansion kit in April of this year. We had had a good season and it had been a couple of years since I had bought the home shirt. Being the end of the season I had a right game trying to locate...

Shows That Simple Need Not Be Plain!
Review of Adidas Chelsea Away Football Shirt by
awaykitcom
Advantages: Distinct colour, good styling, comfortable, good build quality.
Disadvantages: Colour is not to everyones taste. Plain back if it's not got a name and number.
...The 05/06 season was the last one that Chelsea had Umbro shirts, before switiching to Adidas. This, the last away shirt they designed, could have been an opportunity to go wild and create something spectacularly good, bad or indeed ugly. Instead, Umbro restrained themsleves and produced a very simple shirt that proves plain doesn't have to be dull.
The basics are:-
Baby blue in colour with a very dark blue trim.
Embroidered Umbro log on the right of the chest.
Cloth Chelsea club badge on the left of the chest.
Printed Samsung Mobile sponsor across the middle.
Item code, for the short sleeve version, is 735718JAP.
Manufactured in the Umbro X-Static material.
Official product hologram near the lower left seam.
Personally, I think this is a great shirt although the baby blue colour won't be to everyone's tastes. I think...

Nice, But Oh So Plain!
Review of Adidas AC Milan Away Football Shirt by
awaykitcom
Advantages: Adidas quality, nice material, simple but stylish looks.
Disadvantages: Rather plain for an away shirt.
...AC Milan are known for their iconic home shirts...sadly their away shirts often leave a lot to be desired.
The Milan 05/06 away is certainly not a bad shirt but it is, in all honesty, a little boring.
Here are the basics:-
Manufactured by Adidas.
White in colour with red and black trim.
Embroidered Adidas logo in black on the right of the chest.
Cloth AC Milan club badge on the left of the chest with embroidered gold star above it.
Opel logo and ZAFIRA printed across the chest in black.
Made in Adidas' CilmaCool material.
Available in short sleeve and possibly long sleeve too, though I've only ever seen the short sleeve available.
Sizing is the standard Adidas with approx. chest sizes as follow:-
Small 34/36"
Medium 38/40"
Large 42/44"
Extra Large 46/48"
XX Large 50/52"
To help with spotting fakes, the swing...

The End Of A Century.
Review of Adidas Chelsea Home Football Shirt by
awaykitcom
Advantages: Well made, good looks, centenary embroidery.
Disadvantages: Not for fans of something different.
...This review is similar to the 05/06 Chelsea away shirt review I did as they have many features in common. Hope you find it helpful.
The 05/06 season was the last one that Chelsea had Umbro shirts, before switiching to Adidas. This, the last home shirt they designed is also their centenary shirt.
The basics are:-
Traditional royal blue in colour with gold trim.
Embroidered Umbro log on the right of the chest.
Cloth Chelsea club badge on the left of the chest.
Centenary text embroidered around the badge.
Printed Samsung Mobile sponsor across the middle.
Manufactured in the Umbro X-Static material.
Official product hologram near the lower left seam.
Umbro provide Chelsea with a very classic shirt for their centenary. Utilising the traditional blue, the shirt is brought alive with some gold coloured trim and chest...

Expensive but what can you do?!
Review of Adidas Chelsea Home Football Shirt by
abbichicken
Advantages: Sleek, sporty, still looks good!
Disadvantages: Feels strange but sure I'll get used to it! Women's version is horrible.
...it arrived, I was thrilled.
The new sponsorship from Adidas is something that appeals to me, I don't know what it is about the three stripes, but I am rather fond of them, however, the fact that Adidas have also recently taken over several national team kits and other Premiership clubs including Liverpool, did make me rather wary, as several of the designs seem to be to be over similar, just in different colours!
Fortunately, I love new our home shirt. It doesn't have the somewhat bizarre raised collar of the Liverpool shirt, opting for a neat, emblazoned one instead that's actually very comfortable. Made in "Climacool" material that claims something like it takes the sweat away from the skin, keeps you warm in the cold and cool in the warm, you'd think this was something from a sci-fi film, but, when on, it actually feels as if it does...

Football shirt drama
Review of andycharger - Football shirt drama by
andycharger
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: Bad kit supplier
...Now I have been a Wrexham Supporter all my life. I try to update my shirt every season that it is changed. Being a small club, you can only get your Football shirt from the club shop. Its the same price as a premiership shirt! Far too much. It should be equal in price to your division status. The quality of supplier seems to be equal in division status! SUPERLEAGUE are the official kit suppliers of the Wrexham Strip for 2000-2001 season. This is the same as the previous two years except this year the strip has changed. The new kit had been on order for some time so you can imagine the disgust with the quality of delivery when no new shirts turned up. The Sqaud picture had to be cancelled as there were not even enough shirts for the players to have their pictures taken in!!! Apparently the supplier had sub contracted the job out...

Not A Greek Tragedy!
Review of Adidas Greece Away Football Shirt by
awaykitcom
Advantages: Comfrotable, stylish.
Disadvantages: Not great in heavy rain.
...Adidas went through a spell of rather dull shirts but by the 2004 season they had rediscovered a bit of form.
Gone are the very generic styles and rather uncomfortable material and in comes a new, more lightweight and comfortable shirt.
The styling has been given an overhaul too. The previous Greece shirt, as worn when they won the European Championship, was nice if a little plain. This shirt is much different. The look is much more dynamic and in keeping with the later species of football shirt. There are smooth, flowing lines of seams and detailing and a much improved neckline that's much more contemporary than the standard old V-Neck of many Adidas shirts up until 2004.
I've worn mine to play in on a couple of occasions (I have over 300 so that's quite a complement.) and it's nice to play in. The only downside would...

Adidas Power Soccer 1, Not 2
Review of Adidas Power Soccer 2 (PSX) by
Tribute
Advantages: Playable
Disadvantages: Annoying.
...Beware; this is NOT an opinion on Adidas Power Soccer 2, but the one that came before, it, Adidas Power Soccer.
For the price of around £7 (from any local bargain bin) you can get all of these on Adidas Power Soccer:
* Poor Graphics
* Annoying Commentary
* Unrealistic Goalkeepers
* False Player Names
* Un-Intelligent computer teams
* Un-inspiring Crowds
* Referee’s that make you want to hit the TV
* Stupid score lines
* Adidas adverts at half time
* No challenge at all
* A GOOD GAME!
Yes, despite of all the faults and annoyances, APS is still a brilliant game.
~ Aim of the Game ~
What do you think the aim is? Think about it. It has SOCCER in the title. What else do you think it could be? Ballet Dancing???
For all of you out there that have absolutely no idea what soccer is, I will give you a brief outline...
