No sticky back tape here!
Review of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 4.0 Complete package by  AndreBoyle

Advantages: Superb package, easy to use
Disadvantages: Cost

...Acrobat is one of the many ways on the market to create the ever popular PDF file. The best thing here is that this is the original way. Yep it's another fine Adobe creation. There's a couple of ways to create said PDF but my favourite is to use my normal editing package (Word) to create my documents. Once happy, and having finished editing changing editing changing and going back 1 final time to modify the colour of a fullstop you simply print to the Acrobat printer. This will in turn output the desired PDF file. EASY! That's the whole essence of the Acrobat experience. It's an effortless one if you want it to be but the tools exists to do way more complex tasks. Check out the adobe site for more detail but rest assured it's an excellent and well recommended product.... Read review

Communication across different operating systems
Review of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 4.0 Complete package by  gorvifal3

Advantages: Allows documents to be viewed on different platforms and operating systems, protects intellectual property, reduces use of paper and saves money for businesses, compresses data for effective storage
Disadvantages: You can't copy data from pdf files which might be a problem for some people, acrobat reader 5.0 had quite a few bugs

...Adobe acrobat is a widely used piece of software that allows documents to be viewed across a range of different platforms. I expect that many people reading this opinion will either possess the Adobe acrobat reader on their computer, or at the very least have heard of this software. The software operates using files in a format known as pdf, if you have ever wondered what pdf stands for it is Portable Document Format. The pdf files are encrypted files that cannot be edited or tampered with. pdf files are most commonly used to display text, figures and basic diagrams, but can also display photographs and movies. Most pdf files tend to be WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) in nature. There are two components involved in the Adobe acrobat software, this includes the aforementioned acrobat reader and acrobat distiller. If you do... Read review

PDF heaven
Review of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 4.0 Complete package by  darkteckno

Advantages: Features
Disadvantages: Price

...I first came across this program in 1999 when I had to edit a lot of material supplied to my college on CD in PDF format. The ability to create and edit your own PDF files is very useful. You can also add notes and annotations. The form utility is good and I now use it to keep track of student work and progress. Acrobat is not a glamorous program, but if you work with a lot of documents then it is a god send. Another useful facility it has is the ability to open web pages, and then save tham as a PDF file. For instance earilir this year I purchased a new kitchen sink. Using Acrobat I was able to download 2 manufacters web sites in about 10 minutes, and then view them off line. Each site equated to about 70+ pages of A4. I have also used this facility to download various other sites, for instance for one course, I needed a copy... Read review

Juggling for PC and Mac users
Review of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 4.0 Complete package by  Morgenhund

Advantages: Cross platform print optimised layout
Disadvantages: too expensive for home use

...-only (I admit that this is hardly a unique feature, as it is easy to write-protect and make Word Docs read only) which means for sending my CV there is no chance that someone opening the document can accidentally delete a line, however this is still not as impressive as the fact that you know your Acrobat file will come out looking just as it did when you sent it. Proof that this is a great product is that there are an estimated 200 Million copies of the Reader in use, due to its cross platform nature, and it has become *the* tool for content that is destined to be shared over the web. Alongside Acrobat’s latest version, 5.0, there is also a new version of the Acrobat Reader. The Acrobat Reader is freeware, and is a simple download from the adobe website (www.adobe.com). Users of Acrobat Reader 4.0 can still open files that have been... Read review

Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard
Review of Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard by  serenhere

Advantages: It will easily convert documents of a different format to pdf
Disadvantages: It uses a lot of processor speed, it takes a long time to load,

...This software allows you to create PDF format documents. PDF documents are especially useful for people who would like their documents to appear on websites. The software also allows the user to convert documents such as microsoft word documents (*.doc) to pdf format. This means that all your documents can easily be converted from doc to pdf in a click of a button. Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard also is capable of breaking down large pdf documents into smaller more managable files. Which can then either be loaded or saved seperately to make the file size smaller, or the user can disguard pages that are demmed unnecessary. Be aware it is loaded instead of the quicker acrobat reader after install when viewing pdfs The software is realitively expensive for its usefulness but it does provide a professonial look for people wanted to make a good... Adobe Acrobat 4.0
Review of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 4.0 Complete package by  NoMeansNo

Advantages: Cross platform, web and hyperlink compatible, extremely flexible document and page view tool
Disadvantages: None

...that has influenced whole industries and their working habits in regard of document transfer and communication. Experience background Almost 6 years ago, when Adobe Acrobat 3.0 was released I was the global advertising and promotion manager of a division in my company, managing advertising campaigns and promotional literature creation and distribution for our sales organizations in more than 100 countries around the globe. Communication about content, features and layout was very difficult those days between sales organizations, headquarters and all creative outsourcing parties. A graphic designer made me aware of the Acrobat where you could transform documents created in any given program into the PDF (Portable Document Format) format that could be viewed by everyone who would own the small, free Acrobat reader. The transformation could... Read review

Adobe Acrobat Reader
Review of Adobe Acrobat 5.0 Media by  thespurs

Advantages: Free, used globally, secure file transfer
Disadvantages: None

...~Introduction~ As I start this review, I will declare that my knowledge of computers and their applications is good, but not as extensive as some people's. I do know some of the more advanced functions of a computer and am pretty confident that I can write the review in a more than legible manor. I have come across Adobe Acrobat Reader a number of times in my use of computers and the internet and I feel that the programme is worthy of a review from myself. I am taking my A-levels at school at the moment and Adobe Acrobat pops up a lot in business studies. We are often assigned tasks to find cash flow forecasts or a break even analysis from a real life company and many of these are Adobe Acrobat files. ~Overview~ The Adobe Acrobat software, allows users to view and compile documents that can't be edited by others. The text... Read review

I command you
Review of Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines (PC) by  psybitch

Advantages: stunning graphics
Disadvantages: erm...

...to save it quite often. You will have to study your enemies movements very carefully and develope a plan of attack in order to not be sen, and shot.By doing this you should be able to synchronise your men to perform an attack using all your power and skills. Each individual mission has its own unique challenges, scenarios and difficulty levels. So theres hours of fun to be had with this game, and at just 4.99 you cant grumble. Everything you need to play the game is on the CD such as Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0, macromedia shockwave player, microsoft internet explorer and any other patches and updates that may become available. The graphics are amazing as it uses your graphics card and runs in GL. The minimum PC this game will run on is a Pentium 100 but i do not recommend it on one as it is really jerky. You will also need at least 16 Mb... Read review

Whats up - is this worth spending on
Review of Adobe GoLive 4.0 Complete package by  AndrewCole

Advantages: Adobe Users will love the interface
Disadvantages: None Adobe users will find thing hard at first

...Right, lets get straight to the point, If you are a Adobe fan then this is far better than Flash 4. On the otherhand, if you don't give a toss about the layout and can handle a different interface then Flash 4 (even flash 3) is far better and easier to use. Sorry Abobe but this one is a bit of a dud, the only real thing going for it is that if you already use adobe products you feel quite at home. The one annoying thing I found was that I spent 2 weeks with Go Live and then moved over to Flash and I reallised that sometimes too many options are a bad thing. The learning curve for Go Live is, like most of the Adobe Family resonably steap as Adobe exspect you to be an advanced user from the beginning. In this cae this is another of the PhotoShop vs Coral or Paintshop problems, if Go Live as easy to learn as Flash then they would have... Read review

Photodeluxious
Review of Adobe Photoshop 3.0 3.0 Complete package by  sjl02

Advantages: Great for Image reduction, it's free in many cases, loads of useful editing options, good for home users.
Disadvantages: Saving images takes too long, programme often locks up

...Adobe Photodeluxe comes free with many scanning / printing packages, infact I think I have 3 copies of it kicking around somewhere. I think it's £20-30 to buy new. The programme doesn't take long to install and is fairly user friendly to get started. Also included is the excellent adobe acrobat reader. Behind the programme is Adobe, who are becoming an increasingly large presence in the world of computing and as with microsoft, make every attempt for you to access their website via their programmes. At your disposal are add-ons etc for this decent programme. The programme gives you some v.good options. After downloading or opening an image, the main things that you will need to do are edit it. The trimming and photo resize options are straightforward. Perhaps one of the best bits of this package is the "Instant Fix", which 2 times... Read review
