...photoshop to be as equally user friendly and easy to manage as all previous models, and that is one of the reasons why I rate this product so highly. Although, ease of use is nothing without functionality. Something that CS2 provides in abundance. The new instant red-eye removal tool is simply amazing and it has now become an essential part of my 'photoshopping' inventory. Not to mention the new vanishing point creation tool that can help create realistic 3D scenes in seconds (although it can take a bit of getting used to at first...). All in all I find Adobe Photoshop CS2 to be a an immensly invaluable tool for image manipulation, and the dawn of a new era for easy-to-use graphic development software. A credit to Adobe, and well worth the steep initial price.... Read review

...I remember first time I started to learn Adobe Photoshop, years ago. I started with Photoshop 5.5; Those days, we had to go through a lot of steps to do effects we can do now with fewer steps and less time. Adobe Photoshop goes through a lot of enhancements and improvements since then. Through the years, I've upgraded Photoshop, starting with version 5.5, followed by 7, and now CS2. Generally, I skip every other version as a rule of thumb. This new version is more users friendly, saves much time and gives you the ability to create professional outputs in fewer steps with its new features. And speaking of organizing, the new version offers a much better way for users to tuck away palettes in such a way that they are still accessible, saving screen real estate in the process. On here there are a whole host of additional effects and additions I can apply to make the image look professionally complete. 1) There is a very large colour/shader and pattern pallet, useful for applying backgrounds and shaders to complete an image or fill in any blank spaces. There are also various methods of applying a fill, including a good range of different gradients (oval, circular, linear, square, etc), such as colour orientation and pattern. 2) Almost everything in the program is customisable, from the pattern effects and gradients to the colours within the set effects. 3) There is a huge number of filters that can be applied to an image to change the look of media, effects, photographic enhancement, blur, sharpness, etc... ...I've just spent £530 on a piece of software. Surprised? Don't be... You see, I do a fair bit of freelance digital photography and I needed a professional photo-editing program. After trying a few cheaper alternatives, I splashed out on Abode Photoshop 7 with all the trimmings, but I now use it almost every day. First Impressions - Prior to buying Photoshop 5.5, I had version 5.0 on my system. I was aware of the fact that 5.5 is only half an upgrade, but was curious to see what 5.5 had to offer. I was slightly dissapointed when I first saw that nothing much had changed! But after browsing round a few menus, and clicking a few "Save to web" buttons, I was pleasantly suprised. ...now adobe photoshop is something i can indeed write about, this software when i first started to use it, scared the living day lights out of me, i swear id look at and think *oh my god, what've i taken on* honestly first appearance of the userface scared me. first couple of times i struggled to draw a straight line, i was unable to find where all the different tools were, i was slightly confused that if i made a mistake i could only back step once, i couldnt understand why i couldnt save it as a picture to open in the window viewer, i couldnt figure out how i could possibly change the colors from the default black and white, i didnt even know what a filter was, i couldnt under stand the concept of it for weeks, this is when i switched to using good old paint, i knew how to use it, i understood the theory of paint, but i wasnt completly...
