...Kranjska Gora is situated in North West Slovenia, just 7km from the Austrian and Italian borders. The resort is the largest ski resort in Slovenia. We did not go for the ski-ing though, but as part of our summer holiday this year. Following a 3 1/2 hour transfer from Salzburg airport (Austria) we arrived at the Hotel Alpina. The hotel is situated on a hillside with the ski runs behind it. From our room we had excellent views over the town of Kranjska Gora. Kranjska Gora is a small town with basically one main street and a town square, but along the main street are most of the facilities you could need; post office, supermarkets, car hire, hotels, bars souvenir shops, banks, travel agency and tourist information. ...in with the compost to give it a good start. There are several colours including “Blue Bird”, “White Swan” and the pinks. Foe a deep blue colour, try C. alpina “Pamela Jackman”, these are very hardy and don’t mind the cold. There are evergreen clematis such as the variety “armandii” with stunning white flowers and large oval leaves. The large late flowering “Jackmanii” types need to be pruned hard in February to within about 30cm or 3 buds from the ground. Common and useful advice is that clematis like their feet in the cold and their heads in the sun, and planting them with some well rotted compost and sharp sand gives them a good start. It actually comes in a squat glass container, which is very thick, with a silver metal lid. it has a sticker on the glsss telling what it is. As the photo shows, it is a terracotta-red colour for the actual colour, which fades to a less cobvious colour when put on your hands. ...a new car, nothing too flashy, id quite like a BMW he he, a nice alpina would be nice (its a normal bmw but lowered, more powerful engine,skirts etc), and of course it would have to be a cabriolet (not that you get to use it much in this country mind you), but then i could afford the petrol money to go abroad so i could go hot climates in it, id get the top spec one and put a cracking stereo system in it, with dvd, CD, Md, xbox you name it id have it, would be good fun buying lots of new gadgets to play with, yeah i know typical man, boys and there toys. Id quite like to own a pub, so i might even invest in that aswell, i would let someone else run it, as i dont want to get up early and finish late, i just like the whole running a pub, thing, i think id be quite good at it, id have my own pool team, darts teams, and any other team i could... However, it's the large flowered varieties, with their striking colours and shapes which are the most attractive and there are literally hundreds of these to choose from. ...to tame it.My heart broken,I sulked off to the papers to find a sensible car. The worst thing about a broken heart is that it clouds your judgement.Had I been thinking clearly I would have undoubtedly kept the Alpina,driven it into my garage,stripped it down and left it there for a few years. Having found it at a snip (£400 as a favour),and it being in pristene condition this would have been an excellent investment,and had I known that a couple of years later I'd have picked up classic insurance on it for a couple of hundred pounds(fully comp)...I'd have gladly restricted my mileage accordingly (classic insurance restricts your anual mileage to under 5000 miles per anum). So now older and wiser I am again looking for the love of my life.... Read review

..., Cannelloni, etc. Humm predictable and Dolmio do it so much cheaper, but there are a few differences, my daughter had Chicken Alpina. This was basically penne pasta with chicken and ham in a four cheese sauce, edible enough but quite bland(£7.95). I did go for the Meatballs and Spaghetti. I don't think at all that the big robust meatballs go with thin spaghetti, it would have been far better with tagliatelle. Again quite nice but no discernible taste about the rather stodgy meatballs (£7.25). I mentioned to the waitress that we may as well have the garlic bread as well, seeing it would then cost only £7.95. The garlic bread was absolutely lovely, like a mini ciabatta loaf it was dripping with plenty of garlic butter. Advantages: All the looks and style of it's bigger engined brothers but at a lesser cost
Disadvantages: It can keep up with the 3.0L in town but not outside of town

Xenons are expensive and not honestly necesssary You may feel (as I did) after a while that you would like a bigger engine, if you spend time with friends with the 3.0L or the Alpina. Earlier models had problems with the fuel cap panel just 'falling off' the car!! Quite a few friends died with embarrassment as their fuel cap's just fell off onto the floor at the petrol station! Leather wear problems on the side bolsters of the seats have been reported by a few people within the first year but that is all covered under your BMW warranty so will cost you nothing to get upholstered. HInts and tips Make sure you get your locking wheel nuts and chrome tails pipes for free from your dealer if buying new! Modifications exist to retro fit... Read review
