Review of pcoption.co.uk by
swashbuckle
Advantages: Website - Price - customer service
Disadvantages: delivery charge
...For your information, I decided to select a cheaper MOBO being the Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS, rather than the Asus Striker Extreme and then upgrade the graphics card to the 8800GTX 768MB Ultra. The reason I have done this is that following considerable research and reviews on the net, the Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS is basically a stripped down Asus Striker Extreme with almost identical performance. However the 8800GTX 768MB Ultra provides a gain in performance in all applications including games of around 10% which for me at least is a significant performance gain. Therefore if the reviews I have read are accurate, I have increased the performance of my system by at least 10% for no extra cost, in fact for a saving of £14. The Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS is also a great board for the over-clockers amongst you, although I wont be overclocking.
So my...

Review of ASUS P5V-VM DH Digital Home Series - motherboard - micro ATX - P4M890 by
Ritatsu
Advantages: Cheap...
Disadvantages: Core 2 Extreme?
...I have been using this motherboard with my Intel Core 2 E6600 processor for the last 3-4 months, and it's been nothing but trouble. It does not fully harness and utilize the power of Core 2 as it uses a VIA Chipset rather then the more advanced Intel Core 2 created Chipsets such as the Intel 975X, and it does not support Intel Core 2 Extreme (E6800 processor and above), which is a big negative for upgrading and shows it does not have the necessary abilities for the latest technology.
ASUS P5V-VM DH Digital Home Series
The main technical specs you will need to know to know include:
The micro ATX - P4M890 - LGA775 Socket
A PCI-Ex 16 slot and Integrated VIA UniChrome Graphics

darkness120
Advantages: overclocking, very easy to install etc...
Disadvantages: only garantees QVL memory
...the Asus Striker Extreme the best motherboard for gamers with the technology SLI, the best motherboard I ever had, its a bit pricy but is worth every penny that you spend on that motherboard. Excelent on overclocking, very good features, supports all intel processors from pentium 4 to core 2 quad, even my internet connection is faster now with this motherboard, the only problem that I have with it is the memory because it requires QVL memory and my one isn't. Very easy instalation mainly with the q-connector, its real good, I highly recommend people to buy this motherboard.

Best motherboard for the best Comp
Review of ASUS P4C800 - motherboard - ATX - i875P by
weiguxp
Advantages: Easy to Overclock, Support latest hardware
Disadvantages: Make sure other hardware has these abilities
...Quick Summary:
This is the next step in mother boards from Asus. For those who don’t know, Asus is a Taiwan based company that is well trusted in terms of motherboards. It is the cheapest good quality motherboard out there. My previous Asus motherboard lasted me around 2 years and is still running fine. It is impossible to predict how durable this product is as it is just release, so the history of the company is very important. This new board supports the newest Pentium 4 processors with Hyper-Threading Technology that provides an extra boost to the processing power. The main feature of this processor is that:
It has a Dual-channel DDR technology support that allows you to boost RAM performance
It has a ‘Balanced architecture’; this basically means the long waits when your system hangs and does nothing is eliminated.
Very easy...

P4P800-VM, Best P4 Micro-ATX Board.
Review of ASUS P4P800-VM - motherboard - micro ATX - i865G by
Darkle
Advantages: 800FSB P4 support, SATA, 8 USB2 connections, AGP 8X and 6ch Sound with SPDIF
Disadvantages: ASUS motherboard site can be down at times
...Without a doubt one of the most powerful feature packed Micro-ATX Boards ever to roll out of the ASUS factory.
This small form factor motherboard using the intel i865 chipset which will take right up the the latest(at time of writing) 3.4 Ghz CPUs, as well as the newer Prescott CPUs with increased Cache and even Extreme edition CPUs.
Add to that an impressive array of onboard features including:
8 USB2 Ports(4 on the rear I/O shield, and PCI plate which will allow you to connect a further 4 from USB headers which are useful for cases with front usb connectors)
Onboard 10/100 Lan. For connecting to a home network or router for internet access or file sharing.
Dual Channel DDR 400. Dual channel is basically a way of putting in two identical sticks of rm, for example 2x 512mb crucial 3200, and the motherboard splits and fires data...

ASUS P5PE-VM
Review of ASUS P5PE-VM - motherboard - micro ATX - i865G by
djohan
Advantages: Flexible
Disadvantages: -
...and its packaging comply with the European Union's Restriction on the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). This is in line with the ASUS vision of creating environment-friendly and recyclable products and packaging to safeguard consumers' health while minimizing the impact on the environment.
EZ Flash
With EZ Flash, you can update BIOS before entering operating system. No more DOS-based flash utility and bootable disks are required.
CONCLUSION
P5PE-VM is a nice mainboard to build up a personal computer, especially for someone who has got limited budget. Nowadays - it costs about USD56 - USD59 (in my country - Indonesia). Instead of its competitive price, it comes with integrated Intel Extreme Grpahics 2 - and it means consumers can save some money for a graphic card.
CrashFree BIOS2 and CPU Parameter Recall systems are nice features, too...

Review of ASUS EAH2900XT/G/HTVDI by
neo1983
Advantages: Great speed, efficient cooling system, impressive specifications
Disadvantages: High power consumption, 8800 GTX is faster

ABIT Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI - motherboard SLI
Review of ABIT Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 650i SLI by
jontiff
Advantages: cant fit them all here theres a big list in the review
Disadvantages: nope none
...bearing in mind that these boards are identical both in looks and specs but not in performance the abit wins for me as it was designed by the world champion gamer jonathan fatal1ty wendel more care has been put in this board than any other board i have ever owned
even if you dont use your computer for games this board for its low price of 68 quid is well worth a go and the performance is there if needed
you could even use it in a server as it will support 32 gb of memory and the latest 3.0ghz quad core extreme cpu
no overclocking skills needed. Instead, a supercharged, factory overclocked system bus provides the hidden powers automaticly
my only bad point is that when over clocking in the bios it is a litle more difficult than the asus but same overclocks are possible
good points
nice blood red colour
this board does support sli ready...

ASUS - Market leaders for a reason.
Review of ASUS P5WD2 Premium AiLife Series - motherboard - ATX - i955X by
Radical-Machine
Advantages: Overclocking is Easy, Quality Product, Great Performance
Disadvantages: Layout not suitable for every PC
...This is the first Intel compatible board I've ever bought. After buying AMD for many years, I picked this board with the new Pentium D 805 processor because of the immense overclocking potential. The processor was a mere £79.95 and runs at 2.66Ghz standard. I've overclocked it to 3.4Ghz with no stabililty issues using only fans and heatsinks. Tom's Hardware have reportedly got 4.1+Ghz out of this chip using water cooling..!
So, I was confident after buying ASUS motherboards for AMD for years that their Intel boards would be just as good. I was right.
The motherboard is extremely well designed. I noticed a big difference when I was removing the old PC from it's case that this one was replacing. This ASUS motherboard has everything colour coded. Although not really a big deal for major components that are easily recognisable, it's great...
