I must say going on that instance, I was extremely surprised at how helpful the customer services of B&Q really was. I can now however understand why B&Q have decided not to sell paint and wallpaper online as it is extremely hard and costly for them to arrange safe and secure transit of these items. In my own personal opinion with my own personal experiences with B&Q in mind, I am happy to Highly Recommend diy.com and give them an amazing 9.6/10 for the quality of products and services they have available online. Advantages: Good quality kitchen for a low price

I cannot emphasis this enough. Measure the walls of the kitchen and decide how far you want units. Then it’s down to the boring job of deciding which units to put where. B&Q give you a floor planning guide on-line which you can print out and draw your kitchen on. Anyway after suffering for a few years with bath mixer taps which had more water coming out of the tap than it did out of the shower attachment, I bought a Gainsborough 400x shower, £69.99. It cost me around £70 to have it plumbed in as some pipes and wiring were there from a previous shower. The shower I wanted was £59.99 but as usual there wasn’t any on the shelf and I couldn’t find a B&Q man anyway, it was a Friday though. So whinged like mad about having to pay £10 extra for a shower that was on the shelf. The Gainsborough I ended up with is ok, easy to use, and hot, it’s an 8.2kw one, something like that anyway, not that I’m any the wiser. .... She doesn’t know if there are any other baths in stock. She doesn’t know if anyone can come and pick up the bath. She doesn’t know who might know. We snarl that she’d better find out as we are coming in. We spend an hour getting hold of a roof rack and fitting it onto the car, and then like a bad episode of Last of the Summer Wine, we drive round Huddersfield with a fully constructed bath sat atop of the car, and then about as interesting as Last of the Summer Wine, we queue for 10 minutes to get into that lovely car park. We dump the bath at the entrance of B&Q and join the long queue for returns. We demand our money back for the bath and the delivery charge. The man at the counter knows better than to try to debate. We ask, but he doesn’t know if there are any other baths in stock. We are directed to our old friends and foes... Read review

...of lights from his store, and they DID NOT sell the bulbs to fit them! I was told that maybe a larger B & Q warehouse, which was around 10 miles away, would sell the bulbs. I was however given a free replacement bulb which was taken out of another new three downlighter pack, but will this rare bulb fitting cost me dear in the future? Beware!... Read review

...A little bit of background first to set the scenefor this review so to speak. Before I retired from the police force, we lived in a police allocated property which was fully maintained by them, even down to the decorarting, although thankfully, we made the choice of paper, paint emulsion colours. I dread to think of what their colour scheme might have been, judging from the station and section offices I worked in! On retiring we purchased our own house and I found the need to become a bit of a do it yourself handyman, although in a very small way. It was at this time I became a customer of B & Q, as influenced, ( not at all ), by their slogan, ' You can do it, when you B & Q it.' but solely because of the fact that I possessed no tools whatsoever, apart from the odd screwdriver and it was recommended to me by my colleagues... ...Save money at B&Q on building materials, Its cheaper than your local builder's merchant. I purchased 300 bricks,7 bags of ballast, 7 bags of building sand and 3 bags blue circle cement which cost only £118 for a job i am doing on friday. The customer lives local to the store so I was charged £10 for delivery which was included. My local builders merchant are priced before they include V.A.T. which makes their prices reasonable(I f you don't add the V.A.T. on).B&Q staff were very helpfull to find my needs. I will be using B&Q In future for building materials the delivery cost to my house will be only £20... Read review

...I have just spent most of the weekend with my son fitting B&Q Easi Loc Flooring to a room measuring no more than 15' x 10'. "Easi Loc", what a misnomer! I am very experienced at all aspects of DIY work. I had no hesitation in reccommending Floor master laminate from B&Q having fitted it single handed in my kitchen and hallway 7 years ago. It went down very easily, the boards really did "click" into place, and we are pleased with the appearance and durability, even surviving a minor flood when a sink overflowed. However our experience this time was totally different. The first row was OK, but the successive row were completed only with a great deal of effort. Using the block in the optional fitting kit we had to hammer the boards forward to get a reasonable join without a gap. The boards simply would not fit together properly... Read review

...have stated previously in this review it cost me £5.98 from B & Q, this was for 5 litres, which in my opinion is great value for money, if you were to go out and by a branded tin of paint with the same amount in it can cost you anything up to £20. This would be £4 per litre, whereas this is just £1.10 per litre. Overall I would definitely recommend a trip down to the local B&Q, if you are looking for White emulsion paint anyway, it is cheaper then most others (if not the cheapest) and even washes out of your clothes with ease.... ...We had been trying for along time to get a swing set that had 2 swing's and a see-saw' Ranging from about £70 and upwards. They would either be sold out or we would have to wait for 14 days. Either way it was no good for us as is was our little girl's birthday in four day's. So when my husband arrived back from B&Q with this SOULET Metal Swing Set for just £39.99. Alarm bells started to ring it really had to be a pile of rubbish at that price. and something that would only last the summer if it was lucky. So last night we unpacked the heavy box that weighed god knows but it was really heavy.We got all the tool's out that it said that we would need. Tape measure, Spanner, And a screw driver.
