...I remember many Saturdays when I was young being dragged around Stockport, near Manchester, my home town between Marks and Spencers and BhS. My Mum always used to swap between the two, M and S for her quality work suits and shoes and then BhS for her weekend shorts and tops. I remember being really excited when they introduced sports names such as Adidas into the childresn range as my Mum was one of those Mums who thought only her selection of stores was good enough quality for me. However, I recently took a brief shopping trip back to BhS just for a glance around, to see what they had in and I have to admit I was troubled at what I saw. The store has gone badly downhill. I am unsure of whether this was just the shop I visited but the clothes were strewn randomly around the shop, bringing back scary memories of the C&A closing down sale... Read review

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Makes me spend too much money

...Moving back down here from a short stay in Glasgow Bhs was the one store I missed. That was until last year when the new shopping centre was built and YES!! A Bhs. I tried to resist it but I finally succumbed a few months ago. I find the ladies clothes well made,good quality and the prices are reasonable. There are some lovely colours available and not all twinsets. I am happy as now I can fit into a size 14 in Bhs clothes so you can imagine the joy I have had spending all hubbies well earned money there. Hubby likes the lingerie! Say no more! The childrens clothes are also well made and high quality. They are very hard wearing and my little boy is in a babygro that we brought for my eldest daughter 7 years ago. Advantages: Laughter at the mere mention of the character
Disadvantages: One book a year...Withdrawl symtoms if I miss the release...

Advantages: Cheap, Stainless, Does the business, still going strong after 4.5 years

...UPDATE Oct 2006: Wow, it's over four years on and going strong. The heating elements are the originals and apart from occasionally emptying the crumb trap and wiping the surface, this thing is as new. Definately good buy. UPDATE 2002: It's on Sale! A giveaway at £13.99. A week or so ago my dodgy old toaster finally blew its' elements, bringing on the minor crisis that is a lack of hot buttered toast. Rushing to the pile of Argos/Index/etc catalogues on the shelf I found that any chance of colour coordination with last years' kettle was a no no. Fashion has moved on and any self respecting toaster is fitted out in retro styled stainless steel or plain white plastic. So, SS is would be. The last machine was a pain for its' inability to accept the doorstops of self sliced bread that I prefer, so wide and deep slots was requirement 1... Read review

Advantages: Good occasion gifts

...Bhs, just like a cheaper version of Marks and Spencers. From lamps to chocolate hearts, BhS stocks a wide range of products. The quality of the goods is not quite as great as M&S though. They don't fall apart, but the material and stitching doesn't seem to be of as good a quality as that of more expensive shops. But for this the goods are generally cheaper. For example, a pair of slippers are about £20 whereas in M&S they're about £30. The sell clothes for women, men and children. The womens clothes are for those older than 30 as they're really "frumpy" and sensible. One of their ranges that is quite nice for any age, teens to the elderly is their summer swimming costume range. The childrens clothes go up to about the age of 11 or 12. The school clothes are really good as they seem to last for a long time on my brother and sister... Read review

...I'm lucky enough to have a host of friends and family that buy my baby clothes whenever they have an excuse (and quite often when they don't!) BUT I'm always stuck buying the boring things - bodysuits, sleepsuits, shoes, socks and 'everyday' clothes - everyone LOVES buying 'special' clothes don't they. Living pretty close to a BhS store, I have them invaluable for such items - and they are FOREVER having sales on children's clothes. You can always pick things up at a very reasonable price. The clothes last the time (my one year old is still wearing a couple of 6-9 month tops that she's had since 6 months!), they wash well and the colours don't fade. They use fantastic colours for whole ranges (therefore making my husband find it easier to mix and match) and they use lovely materials. I would recommend looking in their sale section... ...The title of this piece should read like a joke - as that is what their range of bridal wear is. BhS stopped their bridal wear range some time ago following multiple scandals of dresses not turning up on time, sizes being permanently out of stock etc.... After a short breathing space they have relaunched the bridal range but this time it appears to be more "off-the-peg". I don't know who they have lined up as designers but the words "what designers" spring to mind. The dresses are amongst the most uninspired I have ever seen (and belive me I have seen a lot!). I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried a couple on. Now granted, I may not be "miss perfect figure 2001" but I am a pretty normal size 12 but I am not certain what creature the dresses were modeled on for it certainly was not human... they were the most awful shape... Advantages: Leaves hair and skin soft and smooth

...to be dutch. On the back there is directions of use and a brief explanation of why the shampoo works and how it cleans your hair. Basically the neutral pH formula protects the scalp and restores its natural balance, as it gently washes the light milky texture gives a soothing sensation. The shampoo is also dermatologically tested. I found the bottle to be very easy to hold when it got slippy in the shower as it is shaped to fit your hand and the cap was quite easy to open and yet it won't come open when you don't want it to. First Impressions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I first opened the bottle and sniffed the contents I was assaulted by a chemical smell that was rather synthetic. It definetly doesn't pretend to be anything other than shampoo. I must admit that it made my eyes water a bit at first. The shampoo is easy to extract from the bottle... Read review

Advantages: WHO DOESN'T LIKE BLOWING LOADS OF MONEY?

...I must be one of the worst people with money. You know the way it goes... you get paid on the friday, by saturday morning, the banks empty!! For all those people who understand this, these must be the ten worst ways ive ever spent my money... 1. Drunk: went to the shop and brought 60 B&H and 60 Soverign fags for everyone in the pub!!!! 2.Spent well over 100pounds on catalog shopping, the stuff didn't fit me, but never exchanged it, becuse I couldn't be bothered with the hassle- all the clothes went to charity! 3.
