Black and Decker Dry and Sometimes Wet Vac
Review of Black & Decker WV 4850 by  ElapsedSpiral

Advantages: Easy to use, good suction, useful attachments
Disadvantages: No charging light, doesn't work on wet spills on absorbent surfaces

...As a teenager, I have an affinity for getting rooms mucky, mostly from snack crumbs, so, about 1 ½ years ago, I decided that enough was enough, and bought a little dustbuster was what I needed to keep my room looking presentable between my weekly clean with a big vacuum. My first dust buster was a Dirt Devil, well priced (around £20) but poorly made, and, after a year, a key part of the dust chamber broke and the motor died, after groaning for a long time beforehand. So, I decided to try a slightly higher priced dust buster this time, the Black and Decker 4.7V cordless Wet and Dry Dustbuster, bought from Argos for around £25-30. I have had it for about 6 months now, and have encountered no problems. -Design- The Dustbuster is a reasonable size and average weight for a mini vacuum, approximately 40cms long. The vacuum is white... Read review

From the company that makes the earth move! ..
Review of JCB GS1800 by  smudgeybabes

Advantages: Makes twigs and the like easy to compost.
Disadvantages: Cost is about the only disadvantage..

...When you hear the title JCB, you automatically think of Joseph Cyril Bamford - indeed that is the same company that makes these shredders. The firm was set up in 1945 at the end of the war. They are world famous (based in 150 countries) for making heavy earth moving equipment, and now are setting their sights on smaller bits of kit, in this case, the humble garden shredder. As already stated, the company has depots all over the world, they are a state of the art, high profile company who keep up with the times. The range of spare parts available is around 80%, this compares very well with other firms. The shredder itself, is called the GS 1800, which is a little strange, as Black & Decker akso have a shredder called the GS 1800. I did at first think the two firms were sharing the same model, just different badges... Read review

Black and Decker: A sting in the tail
Review of Black & Decker Scorpion Dual Function Saw by  Soundsexciting

Advantages: cuts just about anything with minimum effort on your part
Disadvantages: poor design means the blade becomes loose

...Being a gadget lover I bought my black and decker scorpion about 5 years ago. At the time it was the only electic saw that I could find and I had a big DIY job to do at home. The saw itself comes with three blades; one for wood, one for metal pipes and plastics and a third somewhat flexible blade for use as a jigsaw. So this is really three saws in one. The blades can be changed by simply pressing a safety catch on the side, removing the old one and sloting in the new one. The metal and wood blades fit in one direction whilst the jigsaw blade fits in at a 90 degree angle for obvious reasons. To start the saw you need to press two buttons rather like you do with lawnmowers. Its a safety precaution to ensure it isn't set off accidently. Once the saw has started you can release the safety button and rely on the main button... Read review

Black & Decker Pivot Vac - an excellent machine
Review of Black & Decker PAV 1205 Pivot AUTO by  JDavidJ

Advantages: Easy to use, empty and maintain - does what it says, and does it well.
Disadvantages: I've not found any yet

...Black & Decker 1205B 12V Pivot Vac. £59.77 from Argos A small cordless vacuum cleaner. It lives in its charger/base, which can be screwed to the wall, but is small enough just to sit on the worktop (unlike other cordless vacs, it stands on its end, so takes up very little space). The base needs to be near a 13A socket, but it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time, as a full charge gives plenty of suck-time (I have not timed it). The instructions (as is Black & Decker norm) are detailed, easy to understand, and helpful. The rotating nozzle may seem like a gimmick, but it makes the device very good at vacuuming on high surfaces (e.g. cupboard tops) and low inaccesable spots. There are two speeds, but usually the lower one is fine. The spout is telescopic, and there is a little brush that can be clipped into the end... Read review

Black and Decker Hammer Drill
Review of Black & Decker DR402K by  Danieljones

Advantages: Value for Money
Disadvantages: Does not come with drill bits or case

...This hammer drill is great as it good quality and easy to use (a must for me). It has all the standard features you would expect from hammer dills. To prove how good quality Black and Decker are I still have my dads old drill which must be over 10 Years old and its still in working order. I reason I got a new one was that the old one was a bit basic and did not have all the gadgets that the new versions have on them. It was also really good Value for money. I would buy it again... Dustbustingly clean the Black and Decker WV4815
Review of Black & Decker Turbo Dustbuster by  hthomas018

Advantages: Powerful, cleans water spills
Disadvantages: None yet

...The Black and Decker Dustbuster 4.8v cleaner is fantastic! It cleans everything! I'll run through a tried list: Corn Flakes, Dust, Tea, Wine, Sawdust Flies and spiders (!), Crumbs. DESIGN It can be attached to a wall next to a plug to be recharged before use. The dust is collected in a clear blue case which can be emptied and washed clean. Also, there are some attachments which can be put on the front of the vacuum to increase the power through making the gap in the front less. These attachments click into the base of the vacuum, making it easy to keep organised. CLEAN Cleaning the machine is very easy as the filters and the containers can be cleaned under the tap. This means that there aren't any expensive add-ons which need to be bought. GUARANTEE The guarantee (not that it's needed, as the workmanship is good) lasts... Read review

Do You Need A Hand Held Sucker??
Review of Black & Decker Black AND Decker by  bazzaoleary77

Advantages: Great Handy Tool
Disadvantages: Charge Time and Life

...We all own a vacuum cleaner and I have a Dyson but they are no good for reaching in those hard to reach places or doing the car unless you park your car right near the house, I also have the added need for a quick and easy way to clean up spills and crumbs from the babies when they are having their dinner. I am constantly having to either get the dustpan and brush out or the hoover so I decided to get a hand held vacuum cleaner. I looked online and after considering many different models the Black and Decker WV4850 seemed to be great value for money as at £19.99 it not only sucked up crumbs but had an attachment for sucking up spillages and an easy to empty dust/moisture container. I had used many different types of hand held and never really got on with them or liked the idea but at £19.99 I could not go wrong and I am so glad I ordered... Read review

Sends the WIND WHISTLING THROUGH YOUR KNICKERS...
Review of Black & Decker Dustbuster V9650 by  Connoisseur_Haggler

Advantages: very powerful, compact, no bag to change, reuseable filters, on board tools, 2 year warranty
Disadvantages: make sure you are wearing knickers! (Other than that none I can think of!)

...Household cleaning need never be a boring task ever again.. when you have an encounter with this power freak..you wont know what’s hit you and don’t be surprised if you find the wind whistling through your knickers! Although this is a small handheld cleaning tool, it is really the King of ‘power’ cleaning allowing the ultimate in versatility and portability. The Black and Decker V9650 is no ordinary dustbuster…. when it comes to cordless cleaning this beast is in a league of its own with super ‘power’ vents engineered into its sideline body producing 9.6V of power. Now 9.6V of power may not seem like a lot of power for a dustbuster but this is the most powerful model yet produced in the dustbuster series. Dustbuster models before this were 4.8v (V4810), 3.6V (v3610), and 2.4v (v2400... Read review

NO TROUBLE AND NO SQUEAK
Review of Black & Decker Mouse by  LostWitness

Advantages: Efficient and easy to use
Disadvantages: Sandpaper attachments don't last long

...I am currently undergoing the wonderful process of moving house. Despite the fact that my house is only seven years old, some of the paintwork has suffered a few knocks and bumps over the years and I therefore thought it wise to touch up the offending areas with some shiny new paint. Unfortunately, in order to do this, both the wood and walls needed some care and attention and I’m afraid DIY and I don’t really go together. So, off I trundled to the nearest branch of B & Q to find a new electric sander that would make preparing the woodwork and walls a little easier. WHY I CHOSE THIS PRODUCT To be honest I only ever associate one brand with power tools, and that’s Black and Decker. Every work man that’s ever visited my house seems to be fully equipped with Black and Decker products and they always seem... Read review
