Black and Decker Dry and Sometimes Wet Vac
Review of Black & Decker WV 4850 by
ElapsedSpiral
Advantages: Easy to use, good suction, useful attachments
Disadvantages: No charging light, doesn't work on wet spills on absorbent surfaces
...As a teenager, I have an affinity for getting rooms mucky, mostly from snack crumbs, so, about 1 ½ years ago, I decided that enough was enough, and bought a little dustbuster was what I needed to keep my room looking presentable between my weekly clean with a big vacuum. My first dust buster was a Dirt Devil, well priced (around £20) but poorly made, and, after a year, a key part of the dust chamber broke and the motor died, after groaning for a long time beforehand.
So, I decided to try a slightly higher priced dust buster this time, the Black and Decker 4.7V cordless Wet and Dry Dustbuster, bought from Argos for around £25-30. I have had it for about 6 months now, and have encountered no problems.
-Design-
The Dustbuster is a reasonable size and average weight for a mini vacuum, approximately 40cms long. The vacuum is white...

Black & Decker Pivot Vac - an excellent machine
Review of Black & Decker PAV 1205 Pivot AUTO by
JDavidJ
Advantages: Easy to use, empty and maintain - does what it says, and does it well.
Disadvantages: I've not found any yet
...Black & Decker 1205B 12V Pivot Vac.
£59.77 from Argos
A small cordless vacuum cleaner.
It lives in its charger/base, which can be screwed to the wall, but is small enough just to sit on the worktop (unlike other cordless vacs, it stands on its end, so takes up very little space). The base needs to be near a 13A socket, but it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time, as a full charge gives plenty of suck-time (I have not timed it).
The instructions (as is Black & Decker norm) are detailed, easy to understand, and helpful.
The rotating nozzle may seem like a gimmick, but it makes the device very good at vacuuming on high surfaces (e.g. cupboard tops) and low inaccesable spots. There are two speeds, but usually the lower one is fine. The spout is telescopic, and there is a little brush that can be clipped into the end...

Great small cable-free vacuum for little tasks
Review of 7.2V Black and Decker Wet and Dry Dustbuster Vac by
pinkelephantuk
Advantages: It's great! Cable-free, rechargable, handy-sized, portable, efficient!
Disadvantages: You may grumble at battery life dwindling now - but 3 years use and still-going
...If you are looking for a handy vacuum to zap up a little mess or spills, this Black and Decker Wet and Dry Dustbuster is the thing!
Retail price: Around £45. No maintenance costs.
Background
With small children at home, things are constantly knocked over by mistake. When you have a little spill to clear up, and you don't want to hoist a normal-sized vacuum out of the cupboard, use the Dustbuster. It is a hand-held vacuum, and weighs about 2kg. It has a 4.8V motor - sufficient for sucking up a small mess, in my opinion, and can be used for 10 minutes non-stop.
Power and storage
This is a cable-less. By this I mean that you place it into the docking station to charge it up, and this is powered by the mains socket. There is a very handy docking station, which can be conveniently mounted on the wall (in the cupboard under...

Sends the WIND WHISTLING THROUGH YOUR KNICKERS...
Review of Black & Decker Dustbuster V9650 by
Connoisseur_Haggler
Advantages: very powerful, compact, no bag to change, reuseable filters, on board tools, 2 year warranty
Disadvantages: make sure you are wearing knickers! (Other than that none I can think of!)
...’d recommend the cute shaped V3610 or V2600 (these are the one’s that look like round fat globules in white/orange colour).
Overall, this Black and Decker V9650 provides a compact, versatile and very powerful cordless cleaning device. It by no means is a replacement to your home’s full size vacuum cleaner but is an invaluable and extremely useful and versatile to product to have to complement the full size house cleaners. It also has a longer running time than most hand-held rechargeable cleaners and as with most Black & Decker products, it comes with a 2-year warranty.

Do You Need A Hand Held Sucker??
Review of Black & Decker Black AND Decker by
bazzaoleary77
Advantages: Great Handy Tool
Disadvantages: Charge Time and Life
.../min
Dust bowl capacity 286/ Fluid 200 ml
First time charge 16 hours (About 2 hours after)
Runtime 8 minutes
Handle style Loop
Bowl length Short
Base style Wall mount
Overall Opinion
---------------------
I would certainly recommend this handheld vacuum to anyone considering buying one, there are cheaper models available but if you want value for money then the Black and Decker is the one for you. I have had no problems with it in nearly a year now and it even comes with the standard 2 year Black and Decker warranty so peace of mind as well. It really does pay for itself in a very short amount of time you can even use it for bed's, sofas and cobwebs if you can reach.
I have found loads of money in the car and down the sofa so it has made me money lol. Most products you will compare this to will also be dry vacuum only so...

Dustbustingly clean the Black and Decker WV4815
Review of Black & Decker Turbo Dustbuster by
hthomas018
Advantages: Powerful, cleans water spills
Disadvantages: None yet
...The Black and Decker Dustbuster 4.8v cleaner is fantastic! It cleans everything! I'll run through a tried list: Corn Flakes, Dust, Tea, Wine, Sawdust Flies and spiders (!), Crumbs.
DESIGN
It can be attached to a wall next to a plug to be recharged before use. The dust is collected in a clear blue case which can be emptied and washed clean. Also, there are some attachments which can be put on the front of the vacuum to increase the power through making the gap in the front less. These attachments click into the base of the vacuum, making it easy to keep organised.
CLEAN
Cleaning the machine is very easy as the filters and the containers can be cleaned under the tap. This means that there aren't any expensive add-ons which need to be bought.
GUARANTEE
The guarantee (not that it's needed, as the workmanship is good) lasts...

Hammer your way through 80 pounds.
Review of Black & Decker HP331K2 by
andycharger
Advantages: A good drill
Disadvantages: none
...After buying a new house and expecting the worst from the DIY needed, I went out and bought a nice new drill.
I have had 3 drills in my life. 2 were cheap nasties and burnt out so this time I opted for quality.
It is also my first venture into the world of Cordless wonderment.
Before I have had to be near a plug socket but not anymore!
My drill is a middle of the road 12 Volt drill. Not as much power as the 18 Volt model but its also not twice the price. I was told anything less than 10 volts cant cut the mustard.
It is also a hammer drill so it makes a bit of noise if you start drilling into brickwork on this setting. At the same time, you dont burn your drill out and you get the job done much quicker.
You can also use it as a screwdriver with its variable speed trigger.
Pull it as softly as you want or as hard as you want...

Cutting It
Review of Black&Decker Performance Power PWR18VHTA 18v by
Minha
Advantages: Cordless
Disadvantages: Running time could be a problem
...years. However, when I got it out to do the autumn cut - no power! All wires, fuses, etc. were checked - I had to get the shears out again! Of course, nothing was done about the hedge trimmer - except to pack it away into the shed and plan to get it sorted by the spring. Did it get sorted? No, of course not. Would it work (as if by magic)? No, of course not! Meanwhile the hedge grew - it rained and the hedge grew more! So off we went to B & Q to see if there was anything reasonable to use whilst ours was repaired.
There were plenty, of course. All the well known makes - and believe me I've read some of the reviews. The one we found was the Performance Cordless Hedge Trimmer at a price of £24.98. Made (NOT by Black & Decker as shown above) but by Performance Power Tools - which is a trading name of B & Q - it seemed to be quite...

Best cordless I've ever seen
Review of Black & Decker HP188FSB Firestorm Cordless Drill by
VinnyH
Advantages: Powerful, Twistlock chuck, 2 batteries, good price
Disadvantages: None
...This is without doubt the best cordless drill I've ever seen in this price range.
I moved house earlier this year. My new house needed quite a lot of work, so I thought I would invest in a cordless drill / screwdriver. I already have a power drill but it's inconvenient having to plug it in wherever you go.
I looked at (and tried out) quite a few drills before I settled on the HP188FSB Firestorm.
It has a 18V battery and charger - which makes it more than powerful enough for most drilling tasks. I would recommend going for as high a voltage as possible - anything less than 14V will struggle to drill into brickwork. This drill flies through brick, cement, even thick concrete - no problem.
There is also a spare battery with the drill - very handy when doing a lot of work. One battery doing work, and another on charge...
