...no longer with me my BMW 320i convertible. I bought my BMW in 2003 it was 2 years old and set me back around 12 thousand pounds which was roughly half the cost of buying a new one and was at the time a very good deal. I fell in love with the car after one test drive and just had to have it. Although there have been many different versions of the 320i over the years with very different specs the one I bought was pretty top of the range and had the ......information on the extras my BMW had but do not expect to find these extras on every 320i. ★The look★ There is one thing the majority of BMW`s have in their favour and that is style, My 320i had style in abundance. It was British racing green in colour with black leather interior and it sat on massive 18 inch silver six spoke alloy wheels. The windows were very lightly tinted green which was known as privacy glass and the soft top roof ... Read review
Advantages: Performance and comfort on motorways Disadvantages: A great attraction for little yobs to key it; very bumpy ride around town
This is not my car but my son's. After doing a lot of research, he set his heart on a 2003 BMW320Cd in dark blue, nothing else would do. As he's on tour in Afghanistan, I'm looking after it for him for the next few months. It's certainly a stunning looking car and polishes up well. I've only driven it a few times and still haven't got used to all of the gizzmos, such of which I've yet to find. Performance is superb with lots of acceleration, and ......seats are very comfy ansd supportive. What don't I like about it? Well the car seems to be fitted with 18" alloy wheels and extremely low profile tyres - 225/40ZR18 at the front and 225/40ZR18 at the rear. Whilst these might look very nice to the boy racers, the ride is very firm, OK on smooth motorways but bloody awful around town, with the steering giggling back and forwards, not like a classy motor at all. The tyres also follow any ruts like a ... Read review
Advantages: quality Disadvantages: none
I've had my 320d SE for around 18 months now (20k miles). I love this car, it's great to drive and it's never let me down. Running costs are lower than I expected, I've had to replace one tire due a puncture for about £90 (it's a run flat tire and I was able to keep running on the flat until i could get to the garage). And i service was only £190 after 20,000 miles. The average MPG over these 18 months is 42.8, which ain't bad at all, and I don't ......BMW's is getting better and the basic model comes with a few more extras then they used to. I bought mine through a broker and the savings allowed me to get about £2k worth of extras. Very shallow but I love the external lights that come on under the door handles when you unlock the car! ... Read review
Advantages: Excellent back up service from BMW dealers Disadvantages: Only one key at any given time
...I had always liked BMW cars and the slightest chance I had to lay my hands on one proved to be one of the best things that happened to me. I like the comfort, effeciency, and reliability of the car. My current car is the third car in a series and they ones I have owned before have never failed me. The suspension is excellent and the security is superby only one key available so there is no chance of someone steeling your car unless they have access ......if you share a car with some body you need to get the keys. You have to order the key from the manufacturer which also gives you the full security of your car. I like the space in the boot appropriate for my shopping and other things as well. ... Read review
Advantages: German build quality! Disadvantages: It's age now!
Wonderful vehicle - you get into to it after admiring the bulk & lines to be greeted by comfort, smoothness & power! Not to mention the feeling of having something of substance between you & the road! It's downsides are that it needs care & attention in these later years of it's life & the petrol consumption is very painful on the wallet! There's over 150,000 miles on the clock & it still loves to charge up & down motorways. The looks it gets ......only looks great but sounds it too! Having driven newer BMWs too I know the quality is still there & I would recommend treating yourself to one, & it doesn't have to cost the earth either - because the older cars just keep on going (don't be put off by higher mileage, they can do it!) ...
