The PVC Glove with that velvety feel
Review of SuperGlove Household Gloves by
Youngatheard60
Advantages: Great feel, good fit and durability
Disadvantages: none as yet
...My experience of this "SuperGlove" all started when one of the ladies I work for bought me a present, could have been a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates, but no, it was a six pack of PVC gloves!
Nevertheless this present has proved to be a blessing. I hate wearing gloves whilst doing housework , but it is a must when your hands are in and out of soapy water, etc. Incidentally I use disposable gloves when I clean the actual toilet area. Yes I know it sounds horrid, but I feel keeping toilets clean is one of the most important parts of my job. Well it's not really a job, I "do" for three lovely elderly people, who can no longer regularly do their housework and garden themselves.
Sorry, I digress, lets get back to the gloves. They are called "Super Glove" and I have found this title very apt as they are the most...

Scrub a Dub Dub Gloves In The Tub
Review of The Body Shop Shower Gloves by
just.bcoz
Advantages: reveals brighter younger looking skin
Disadvantages: not suitable for people with dry skin conditions
...I am forever buying beauty products and spend a small fortune on new ones each month. I am particularly fond of Nougat Exfoliating Body Wash and I use two 200ml bottles a month. Each bottle of Nougat Exfoliating Body Wash cost me £18 so I was spending £36 per month which is quite expensive for just one product. So when I spotted the Exfoliating gloves in the Body Shop for £3 I decided to buy them. The main reason I bought them was because they were cheap and if I liked them then I would save over £430 per year because I would no longer buy Nougat Exfoliating Body Wash.
The exfoliating gloves just look like a normal pair of white gloves you would wear in the winter weather. The only difference is that the exfoliating gloves are made from a slightly scratchy synthetic material, similar to a scouring pad. I was a bit wary about using...

Gloves 'r' us
Review of The Body Shop Shower Gloves by
missydoc
Advantages: cheap, very effective
Disadvantages: Not sure if they would fit men??
...How bizarre just the thought of wearing gloves whilst in the shower made my husband laugh.
I read a few reviews about these gloves and finally decided to buy them from Duty Free Bodyshop whilst stranded at Gatwick airport for 5hours recently. Since they were slightly cheaper than the highstreet shops (I think......well they were cheap anyway at £3.40 each), I decided to buy 2pairs. I bought a lilac pair for myself and a cream pair hoping my husband would give them a go.
Honestly, my husband could not stop laughing thinking of all the things you can buy at duty free, I bought funky looking gloves.
Anyways, I didn't use them whilst on holiday and they were shoved to the bottom of my suitcase. I normally am very sensitive in the sun and easily burn and suffer very badly from prickly heat. I had decided not to use the gloves...

Frank Thomas Waterproof Gloves
Review of Frank Thomas Waterproof Gloves by
andrewj100
Advantages: They are quite warm and will stand up to a shower
Disadvantages: Not waterproof enough and to much padding on your palms to make controling a bike easy
...I ride my bike in almost all weathers, I try to avoid snow and heavy rain but if I rode it to work I have to ride it home!
I have a pair of Frank Thomas waterproof Gloves, they have all the usual labels, Thinsulate, Gore-Tex and such like.
You would have thought that all these trade names would mean something as you would with the very popular Frank Thomas brand of products.
I rode around during the winter and the Thinsulate layer did help keep my hands pretty warm but I was not 100% impressed and ended up buying some thermal glove liners which make the gloves a little tight but they soon slacken.
One of my biggest puzzles is why on earth do you need thermal lining on the palm of your hand?
The problem I get with cold hands is mostly to do with riding a bike (within the speed limit of course) in the winter, the wind blast really...

Body shop gloves, saves you money.
Review of The Body Shop Shower Gloves by
books1987
Advantages: Makes your soap last longer, makes you feel really clean.
Disadvantages: none really
...This is an excellent product. At £4 these gloves are more expensive than other products on the market such as ones you can buy from supermarkets. However, as soon as I tried one of the cheaper brands I realised why the Body Shop ones are more expensive, they are a lot better. The cheaper brands tend to have poor elastic around the wrist which means that while scrubbing, the gloves become twisted. The body shop gloves do not have this problem, they are also made form thicker fabric which means that they last a lot longer than cheaper ones.
This product saves you money on soap/shower gel as it really lathers up and exfoliates your whole body with a small amount of soap. They are rough enough to be able to tackle dry skin but not so rough that it can irritate your skin.
They come in an abundance of colours. The gloves last longer...

Pro Test Batting Gloves
Review of Slazenger Pro Test Gloves by
nickbolton
Advantages: Well protected and comfy
Disadvantages: Too big velcra and Expensive
...The Ultimate Glove. More technology here than in an aircraft, there well protected, comfy and look good! I've had a pair for a year now and have fallen in love with them. Although I've only been hit there a few times it hurts distinctively less than any of my previous gloves. Quad Flex, Hex Tech impact absorption, fibre inserts, Slazenger's airflow system, are the official names for all the protection bits. The palms also absorb your sweat so cuts out the need for inner gloves. They are very durable (mine are still in good condition after a year playing a few times a week!). However one note of caution, the Velcro is slightly too big for the strap, so if you like to wear a woolly jumper when batting it often attaches itself and can get very annoying. They are also one of the more expensive gloves at around £60. Overall they are defiantly...

St Tropez gloves
Review of St Ives Disposable Gloves by
ali_clautour
Advantages: Protects hands/nails efficiently
Disadvantages: Only ever seen small size in shops
...For the perfect fake tan, you need to use gloves to stop your hands going orange which is a big giveaway your tan is not real! St Tropez sells a pack of 5 pairs of latex gloves for £2.25 so its a bit of a bargain. They are supposed to come in three sizes; small, medium and large. However I am a bit of a fake tanning queen and regularly buy these gloves which are sold in boots and department stores like Allders etc, but I have only ever come accross the small pairs. I am convinced nobody stocks larger sizes. They are a bit of a tight squeeze but do the job perfectly and you can't really complain for £2.25. They also have talcum powder in them to make putting them on easier anyway. Can be used with any fake tan, not necessarily st tropez and can be used a few times before throwing them away. All in all a good buy....

The Vulcan Approach to Motorcycle gloves
Review of Hein Gericke Pathan 3 Finger Glove by
dave_t
Advantages: Waterproof, Well insulated, Practical,
Disadvantages: A bit lacking in reinforcements
...The idea of a 3 finger motorcycle glove seems like an odd one, but in the Hein Gericke Pathan it works very well. It has 2 large sections for your fingers and a normal thumb. (looks like the Vulcan salute). While some people might prefer to have individual finger sections, when do you need to have the use of individual digits while riding?
The gloves have a waterproof, breathable sheltex membrane liner as well as some very effective insulation so your fingers stay both warm and dry in the worst of weather.
The only drawback with these gloves is that they don't have the extra reinforcements you might find on more expensive ones, but you pay your money you take your choice.
For £30 a pair, these were my choice and they have served me well through both summer and winter.
They are available from Hein Gericke stores, in sizes XS...

Hand Savers
Review of Slazenger Select Test Gloves by
Barthezz
Advantages: Comfortable, good protection
Disadvantages: Not very stylish
...Well there ain't much to write about cricket gloves but here goes!
These gloves were given to me by my friend who retired from cricket near the start of the season. He had only used them once so I was grateful to receive.
The gloves are very comfortable when holding a bat which is what you expect. The protection is pretty good as I found out to my disadvantage when i was hit on my thumb in the last game of the season just gone. Although it hurt QUITE A BIT, there wasn't any lasting damage other than a bruise :-)
The style comprises of box structure fingers, a thin layer on the palm with air holes to prevent excessive sweating (not much use when facing the likes of Darren Gough etc.)
The velcro strap on the wrist is very wide making it difficult to fall off during a match as my old Gunn and Moore gloves.
Overall, a good...

My legs were silky smooth (for a minute)
Review of SilkyMit Hair Removing Glove by
Popalee
Advantages: quick, no shaving cuts, relatively painless, exfoliates
Disadvantages: takes a while to get right, quick regrowth
...The search for the perfect hair removal method. Will it ever end? I've tried them all- waxing, shaving, depilatory creams, epilators...and now, silkymits.
When I saw these at Superdrug for just 99p for a 3 pack, I had to give them a go. And now, I offer up my experiences to help all other women in their quest for silky smooth legs (unless you happen to be one of those lucky ones who is blessed with the smallest amount of silky blonde hair, rather than cursed, as I am, with thick black mediterranean hair).
So as always to start let me describe the product. Silkymits are a small, sandpapery glove (hmm, sounds inviting!) that fit over your hands and are used to remove hair and exfoliate skin. They are a dark grey in colour and like I say, look and feel like a fine-grained sandpaper. They are shaped like a cone that's been cut off...
