Paragon is a meat market!
Review of Paragon Nightclub by
nat23y
Advantages: Great Location, Good food, reaonably prices
Disadvantages: Meat market, bad music, better choices in area
...The paragon hotel is far from the best nightlife that Sydney has to offer.
Location
You will find the paragon hotel located on the Corner of Loftus and Alfred in Circular Quay. For those have never visited Sydney, this is one of the most spectacular places to visit in Sydney! It is directly opposite Circular Quay station and conveniently located next to MacDonald's (which is open late enough for a late night burger run - but go to the bathroom before you leave the pub as there are no toilet facilities!)
Getting there and Away
As I mentioned the pub is situated across from Circular Quay station which serves the following train lines: Bankstown, Inner West, South, Airport & East Hills. It is also opposite a bus station which serves many bus routes and right around the corner from the taxi rank on George Street.

Its a Paragon of no virtues...much like myself
Review of Paragon Hotel, Birmingham by
scuba_angel
Advantages: somewhere to sleep,
Disadvantages: lost my booking, twice
...Something of a departure for me in many ways is this one, after the semi disasterous year I enjoyed last year this 12 months of 2008 was marked down as clearing debts and enjoying myself time - how to achieve both being somewhat of an impossible balancing act. But the debts cleared up faster than expected so in early May I turned my head to the new target - having fun, lots of it.
One of the forum sites I am a relatively active member of has pretty regular meet ups, and after deciding it was funtime the next was due to occur in Birmingham at some point during July, so in keeping with the fun but keeping out of debt ethos I went off to find some decent hotel bargains which werent going to cost me a fortune in beer tokens for a taxi.
The cheapest - and one of the most central I was advised - is the Paragon Hotel on Alcester St, one...

Great phone ...but not perfect
Review of BT PARAGON500 by
caz_a_uk
Advantages: Unique corded phone. High spec. Long recording time. Assigns different ringtones to callers
Disadvantages: Sometimes messages aren't properly deleted. Naff ringtones
...I searched high and low for a corded phone with an answer machine and caller display....and this is the only one I could find.
At the time (August 05), I paid £49.99, but I've just seen it online for £36 incl p&p (not allowed to tell you where, sorry!!) so if you can find it for that price, I would definitely recommend it.
It has all the features you could possibly want: handsfree, texting, caller ID, 36 minutes of recording time.... it stores 200 names & numbers, lists your last 30 incoming calls... well, you can read the specs.
The caller ID works with BT and Telewest (don't know about other providers).
It's good looking, feels comfortable and is easy to use.
Its straightforward to enter names and numbers & simple to adjust the ring volume.
There is an option to record your own message or use the pre...

BT - A misunderstood giant with a great history
Review of BT by
mvwmail
Advantages: Savings on services, Great on-line facilities
Disadvantages: Questionable Customer services, OFTEL restrictions can lead to comparativly higher prices
...MOst reviews about BT are negative as people are more inclined to complain when things go wrong, but are not inclined to compliment when everything goes right. This is easy to understand as many of us take the telephone for granted. BT cannot really do anything to improve a service that more often than not just works. Do you open your fridge every day and say, "Wow my fridge is really working well today, lovely and cool!!"? Do you kiss your wrist-watch everytime it gives you the right time?.. Nah, but I bet you would kick off when these everyday devices stopped working.
I am a contractor working for BT, and I hate the company 'from that perspective', but on the other hand I am a satisfied BT customer who has NEVER had a single problem with their service in over 12 years. YES!! I have had no loss of service, speedy provision...

BT Surf packages - The easy way to surf
Review of BT Surftime by
MikeWhalley
Advantages: free internet calls, no seperate bill - added to your BT bill
Disadvantages: different options can be confusing to begin with
...Internet Service Providers, or ISPs as we hear them called - we all use them, and hence, there are hundreds of them to choose from. Some are good, offering a reliable and consistent level of service, whilst others are appalling (see my opinion about my experiences with RedHotAnt and you will see).
This opinion is about BT and their internet-ready services, including their 'Surf' packages and their ISP - BT Internet. Ever since RedHotAnt jumped ship with their up-front yearly payment for unlimited internet access, I've been using BT Internet alongside one of BTs 'Surf' packages.
Another reason for me choosing BT Internet was because I recently bought my own house, which has a BT phone line and found it relatively easy to sign-up to BT 'Surf Together' (I did this over the phone) and BT Internet whilst online (I did this from work...

Even BT is Cheaper Than BT
Review of BT by
BNibbles
Advantages: The biggest, with most repair resources. Useful web-site but could do better.
Disadvantages: Confusing pricing (and billing).
...I thought it was time I updated this opinion, originally written in 2000, for a couple of reasons.
a) If was rather short and insubstantial, bordering on being a “churn” - who me?
and…..
b) A lot has happened to me in the field of telecommunications services in the meantime.
If you read all the competitors ads, they all reckon they can save you up to xyz% compared to BT's standard tariffs. However, I couldn't name one BT customer who actually pays BT's standard tariff, so these comparisons are slightly specious. At the very least, BT will have informed them of their potential Family and Friends savings.
Of course, money, as they say, isn’t everything, so service levels and quality of fault repair must also figure large in any logical decision.
Many people will have been prejudiced against BT ever since the day...

BT Sometime
Review of BT Anytime by
Dalesman
Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: Plenty
...After much consideration I decided to write this opinion before going to the USA, as I felt with the current climate this should be posted sooner, rather than later.
~~~0o0o0~~~
I have been a member of BTanytime since it started 18 months ago, and until the middle of September I would have recommended it to anyone, it was fast, smooth, and I could connect 'AnyTime' which of course is exactly what I was paying £15 a month to do, and what BT were advertising..connect free to BT Anytime, when you want for as long as you want, with a 2 hour cut off but you could immediatley reconnect without any penalty
~~~0o0o0o~~~
in Mid-September I got an email from BT saying that I should download a new connection file which would give me a better, faster and more reliable service, it said that I should do this within a set time limit...

BT - The 1MB Broadband Connection - UPDATED
Review of BT Broadband by
kelr101
Advantages: 1MB Fast Connection, Reliable 24-7, Fast Download times
Disadvantages: Poor Technical Support
...*Background*
My Partner recently started work as a web programmer, so we decided that we needed a reliable, and fast connection to the Internet, to enable him to work from home. We also wanted to take advantage of the many websites, allowing you to download game, movies and music.
We opted to use Broadband, as we needed a more reliable service than the standard 56kbps dial-up service. Basically broadband is a high-speed connection to the Internet that is active 24hours a day. It has a large capacity to send and receive files from the Internet and is considered to be a much faster service than dial-up.
As in recent years the number of ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) has increased, with well-known names such as AOL, Tiscali, NTL and BT offering a range of services at differing prices. We decided we needed an ISP that could...

The End of the Road for BT Highway
Review of BT Broadband by
robert_parnham
Advantages: Good Technical Support, Fast & Reliable
Disadvantages: No SMTP support (details in the review), Cocked up Order, 12 Month Contract
...Internet access is becoming one of those necessary evils, something most of us (who already have it) would be hard pressed to live without. But getting on-line has always been a rather complicated business, all that farting around dialling a service provider only to be kicked off a few minutes later.
WHY DO I NEED BROADBAND?
For me, though, dial up internet was consigned to the dim and distant past many years ago. If you’ve read my BT review, you’ll know that I had a natty little device called a highway box – which did away with a conventional modem. Rather than having an annoying, beeping analogue jobbie which tied up my phone line, I had a digital ISDN connection to the internet – which connected within about 2 seconds. Although getting on-line was fast, you still had many of the pain in the arse choices you faced with an old...

BT Anytime = BT Limited Time
Review of BT Anytime by
ReviewDude
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Limited Time. High Costs
...How BT can call this service Anytime and get away with It I have no idea. BT is the UK's main telephone company so it's no surprise they offer internet access.
Around two years ago now I was a member of Bt Anytime. Back then I was paying around £13.99 for 56k/bs dialup internet access. I first noticed problems with BT when I recieved an e-mail from the company informing me of a price rise. It was only £1 but still that's an extra £12 a year to add onto your bills.
The next problem can a few months later when I was having problems dialing up. I called the BT helpline and after a few hours or trying I got to speak to the customer service department. They informed me due to "Important" work that need to be carried out the service would be down for at least the rest of the day.
Two days later and at last serviced returned to normal...
