Good Advanced Amateur Camera
Review of Canon EOS 50E QD by
mlheintz
Advantages: Full Photographic Control, Eye-Controlled Focus
Disadvantages: Can't use IR films
...he Canon EOS 50E QD is a retro-style 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera. I purchased mine in January 1999 and have had great results.
This camera supports all EOS lenses and has the standard EOS command dial that offers users a choice of shooting modes. For beginners, this camera offers fully automatic, portrait, landscape, macro and sport modes. In these modes, the camera chooses the best combination of aperature and shutter. For more advanced users, the camera offers program, shutter priority, aperature priority and fully manual shooting modes. Additionally, the camera has a depth of field mode which allows users to pick two points in the frame for the area of focus. The camera also offers a quartz-date function for date printing on the photo, but I choose not to use this.
I have had great success with this camera. I bought...

Canon can, and so can you
Review of Canon EOS 50E by
a4angus
Advantages: Canon quality; range of lenses available; good features
Disadvantages: Film - going the way of the dinosaur
...The 50E is an old fashioned Single Lens Reflex camera (that's look through the lens to you and me) which has been around for 5+ years now.
It is know as the Rebel in the US and other countries but is basically the same.
The camera would be an excellent budget buy for a beginner, or a good second hand buy for those wanting a cheaper option or second camera.
It can come with a range of lenses - depends on package/store.
I bought this with a 35-80mm Canon USM lens and later bought a 35-300mm Tamron lens to enable all shots from one lens.
Reliability
-------------
Had this for years now with not a thing wrong. Excellent build despite plastic parts in some places.
Pictures
------------
Leave it on auto and 99% of all shots will be infocus and correctly exposed. It struggles with bright backgrounds on darker subjects so you have to learn...

Good camera, good price
Review of Canon EOS 300 by
Shue
Advantages: good price, perfectly sharp pics
Disadvantages: maybe the synthetic body
...Introduction
-------------
This is my first opinion in english language (I wrote for ciao Germany before), so please forgive me all the mistakes I may make...
The Canon Eos 300 came out in 1999, I guess it is exactly two years now. I have read a test about it in a photographer's magazine - the test people were very delighted about it, because it seemed to have very nice features for a good price.
Until this day I used to take my photos with a very olg AGFA reflex camera which was heavy and had no automatic focus. So I decided to buy the canon that I would have a quick but good camera for snapshots, photo series etc. in the future. I paid 800 german marks, which is about 260/270 GBP.
Features of the camera
------------------------
-zoom 25mm to 80mm
-canon quality lens
-auto focus (switchable to manual)
-different programs for portrait...

For Eternal Memories!
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 55 by
faisal_shah
Advantages: beautifully small, Image quality, Functionality
Disadvantages: nothing!!!
...the display of the camera. This can be useful.
My experiences:
The smallness of the camera disburses itself fast: It fits it almost any trouser pocket.well my experience has been great so far.i really like the smallness and the beauty of this camera.
Result:
The Canon digitally IXUS 55 is a genuine purchase recommendation. one gets high-quality 5 megapixels camera with 3x optical zoom shot, Photograph function, Software...
The image quality approximates the one mirror reflex camera already quite, only with photographs in the dark one I noticed, that I with a super+small, not mirror reflex camera photographs, since the picture rushes little.
Normally i change my cameras very soon but after using this one i'll prefer to stick with this one....

A good camera still in shape!
Review of Canon EOS 3000/EF 38-76 SET by
R_A_C
Advantages: Nice prices for a very good SLR camera!
Disadvantages: It's not the most recent thing...
...Year of Introduction: 2001
Canon EOS 3000 is surely not the most recent or advanced camera in the market, but, that may well work in your favor! It worked for me when 4 years ago I bought it for a lower price than the most recent ones, and still got a very good SLR 135 mm camera!
It's still my favorite camera, and it is working like in the first day! And it's far from being outdated.
The body of the camera is totally black, on the top of it sits the mode wheel, the internal flash and external flash socket, the lcd display and the all important shutter release button. It has 4 automatic modes: Macro, Action, Scenery, and portraits, in a total of 11 shooting modes. The automatic modes basically alter the aperture and shutter speed to preset values, optimizing the camera for the shot you want to make. But trying the manual modes is always...

Good APS SLR
Review of Canon EOS IX by
mlheintz
Advantages: Full EOS Compatability, APS Film interchangability
Disadvantages: Limited APS films, smaller negative
...The Canon EOS IX is an APS format Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera. It has full compatability will all EOS lenses.
I bought this camera as a backup for my EOS 50E (Elan IIE) kit. I wanted some of the advantages of APS without losing my investment in my EOS kit. The camera has not had a great deal of interest as a result of its off-centre lens mount, but I have had no balance problems with it. In fact, I find it easier to use than my 50E.
The picture quality from the EOS IX is excellent. I tend to shoot FujiChrome 100ix APS slide film, Fuji Nexia 100F or Kodak 400 B&W films. These are the only films that I have had good results with in the APS range which is one of the draw backs of using an APS SLR. However, since this is my backup / holiday camera, these allow for all my shooting needs.
The only real down-side to using...

A superb piece of gear
Review of Canon EOS 300D by
kelpie
Advantages: Cheap for the quality of the output, wide range of features, all EOS lenses fit
Disadvantages: Body is a little 'plasticky', focal lengths are multiplied slightly
...I decided to go digital when a decent camera came down below the £1000 price bracket. I have been a traditional photographer for many years and trying out a compact digital camera I missed the flexibility of interchangeable lenses and having complete control of aperture and shutter speed that you have with a traditional single lens reflex camera.
I owned a Canon EOS300 with a couple of lenses so I knew what the Canon cameras were capable of, when the 300D arrived I decided it was time to move.
The camera is very similar to the traditional EOS300 in that most of the controls are the same and in the same place, but of course there are the added controls for the digital aspects. It has a reasonably sized viewing screen on the back to check the photo you've just taken or to scan through those saved on your memory card.
There are a range...

How Sabine get's a free photo course
Review of Canon EOS 500 N by
TheFist
Advantages: easy to use and it really tooks nice photos
Disadvantages: I have no idea - for the moment
...picture of the film is now the first picture you will take. Eache exposed photo will take place back in the roll.
That is the reason why your photos are more safe in this camera than in otherones. If a misfortune to you occurs and therefor the rear-cover of your camera jumps up, the photos you allready took will be saved, because they are back into the roll. You should forget the rest of the film... In other cameras it is turned around. You can use the rest of the film and better forget the photos you have allready took.
And Sabine, is it understandabele to you? - Nice, that makes me happy.
Some more details, functions and tipps
The weight of a reflex camera is very imortant. This aspect is often underestimated. A light camera is to be kept evenly simpler in the balance, so you do not blur the pictures so fast.
The Canon EOS 500 N is one...

If anyone can...
Review of Canon EOS 450D by
almarsden
Advantages: Excellent picture quality, easy to use, expandable.
Disadvantages: Expensive.
...Canon EOS 450D
This is a digital SLR camera this is a Single Lens Reflex that allows you to see exactly what you are going to take a photo of via the internal mirrors of the SLR system which improves picture quality and ease of taking pictures.
It is manufactured by the well known brand Canon they make a lot of photography equipment and I see them as a trusted quality brand. This helped me make my buying decision when choosing this model of digital SLR camera. It is the updated model of the Canon EOS 400D which was a highly successful camera and really good quality so this camera has an awful lot going for it.
I bought this camera not for myself but for my dad as he broke his old digital SLR which was a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D and was a 6 mega pixel DSLR, we thought about having this one repaired but it was going to be cheaper to buy...

A great professional camera
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S7000 by
ShahidHalling
Advantages: Easy to use and excellent images
Disadvantages: Grip design could have been better
...Ive bought many cameras in the past, but the Fujifilm FinePix S7000 Zoom challenges models from Canon and Nikon for serious photographers attention with a model that has eye-level, extensive controls, through-the-lens (TTL) viewing, and very good to excellent image quality. Im a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to digital photos, and was delighted at the functionality and results of this camera.
The S7000 looks like a professional single lens reflex unit with a big lens and extended battery grip. Although not as full-featured as the midrange Canon/Nikon models, the S7000 offers manual exposure, aperture, and shutter priority, as well as manual focus, bracketing, and a histogram. Only problem is it ships with four AA alkalines, not rechargeables which is a bit of a bummer.
The S7000 is really easy to use, although the grip could...
