He made a bold bid to retain his crown 12 months later, when he met Stephen Hendry in the final, but missed a pink with the rest at a crucial stage in the deciding frame and could only watch his opponent clear the colours to win 9-8 on the black. His best performance at Sheffield came in 1994 when he made it through to the semi-finals before going down 16-8 to Jimmy White. ...Our rather odd shaped garden has a very long hedge and it's a real nightmare to cut. For the past two years we have borrowed a friend's hedge trimmer and I'm amazed that my husband hasn't electrocuted himself in the process of cutting this hedge! We finally decided to buy one ourselves, but were a bit loathe to buy a cordless one as we were worried about the charge running out and the hedge being half cut. (Not my husband, the hedge!) Anyhow we took the plunge and bought this one. It is brilliant. When fully charged it ploughs through the hedge vigorously for at least half an hour. After a short booster charge it continues for another half an hour before starting to run down, and makes light work of cutting the hedge. ...Holly - Ilex I have seen many Holly hedges and we have a holly mixed in with our hedge, we did not plant it but I think its seed dropped from a bird as it sat in the bush next to it. Holly is an evergreen tree. A holly is easy to identify as it has shiny prickly leaves with sharp points. Actually there is one holly that does not have points on its leaves .The leaves of the holly is green and some are variegated with cream. The female holly produces red berries that are used at Christmas for decoration. To get holly berries there must be a male tree nearby to pollinate the female to produce berries. Some hollies have yellow berries. If you are buying holly at the garden centre the sex should be on the label.
