Lush Chorus
Review of Boss Super Chorus CH 1 by  Paolo1

Advantages: Lush sound
Disadvantages: CE5 better for same price

...This pedal produces a sweet chorus effect which has served me well for a couple of years now. The chorus can be altered from a slight effect, to a shimering chorus with great depth. The pedal includes effect level, depth, eq, and rate controls. Having the depth and effect level high produces a lush chorus sound. reducing these produces a more subtle sound, and increasing the rate produces an increasingly "wobbly" sound. The sounds are of excellent quality, However, the eq is a single knob as opposed to the CE5 Chorus Ensemble which contains separate treble and bass controls. As such I would not recommend buying the CH1 and instead get the CE5 as it produces the same range and quality of sounds for the same price, but it allows slightly extra tone control. The construction is excellent as with all boss pedals and I have no doubts... Read review

Pedal Power
Review of Shimano A530 SPD Single Sided Touring Pedals by  trevorbrock

Advantages: Perfect for sporting or casual use.
Disadvantages: None

...My guess is that 75% of the world's cyclists have never really paid much attention to their pedals. So long as they spin round, push the crankset in the right direction, and give you somewhere to rest your feet, they are of little interest. Remember your first bike? Maybe you do, but you could probably not tell me what the pedals were made of, what weight they were, how much they cost, what cleat system they used, or how easy they were to service.!! However, as bikes have become more complicated, and folk have more money to spend on personalizing them, the pedals have attracted more attention. Here is a good example - the Shimano A530 SPD's. 1 The Manufacturer. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Shimano are one of life's fascinating mixtures. I had been aware of the firm's fishing products for quite a long time. They have pioneered new... Read review

Outstanding Budget Pedal from the Big S
Review of Shimano M520 MTB SPD Pedals by  fred_redwood

Advantages: Impressive durability, adjustibility, reliable SPD mechanism
Disadvantages: Mud clearing not as good as other brands

...Why would you want a pair? Clip-in pedals originally developed for road bikes, have found their way onto cross country mountain bikes. A metal plate called a cleat is bolted to a specially adapted shoe. The cleat engages in a sprung loaded clip on the pedal, holding the foot in the most efficient position. You disengage the clip by rotating the shoe. They also enable you to pull on the up-stroke improving power, although the power benefits are relatively modest. The major advantage of clip-in pedals is that it enables you to perfect a smooth circular pedal stroke. Next time you're out on a flat piece of road/track, drop a gear, unclip one side and try pedalling with one leg. If you're anything like me when I tried this you'll get an amusing jerky pogo like action. Perfecting a circular rather than up and down motion... Read review

Logitech Momo wheel - watch out for the pedals
Review of Logitech MOMO Racing - wheel and pedals set by  stavroshamster

Advantages: Sturdy design, rubberised grip, force feedback
Disadvantages: pedal problem

...- the wheel is fully rubberised to increase grip. It has a 3-spoke design, and a red aluminium centering strip at the top. It is very well built. 6 programmable buttons - the wheel features 6 red buttons which are easily accessible, on the front of the wheel. These are fully programmable. Paddle shifters - located behind the wheel, these are sturdy and well built, and also programmable. Gear shifter - in addition to the paddle shifters there is a gear stick located on the base of the wheel. This is also rubberised and can be easily located on either the right or left hand side of the wheel depending on preference. It operates independently of the paddle shifters. Pedals - The wheel features an accelerator and brake pedal on a large base. The brake pedal is stiffer than the accelerator to enhance realism. The base also features an anti... Read review

Go for the pedals - a whole new simmer experience
Review of Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals pedals by  bivanbi

Advantages: works right out-of-the box, easy installation, comfortable
Disadvantages: has some features not discussed anywhere - might be a disappointment

...This is a USB 2.0 compliant analogue game controller with three axis. Two pedals are linked together (rudder / Z axis), and each pedal has toe action (differential brakes for example). Its destined audience are flight simmers. It could be used for other games too, but results may vary. Just received the item, so I only have short-term experience. It is made of plastic, only essential parts are made of steel. It feels pretty decent though. It is about the right size, the space between pedals are just right. The length of the pedals is adjustable in three steps, with a push of a button. I use it on carpet, and it stays where I put. Should you still need more grip, it is shipped with self-adhesive Velcro straps you can use if you want. Two extra pads can be attached to either the front or back of the chassis for more stability... Read review

A Chorus of Voices .............. Molly's Reviews
Review of A Chorus of Voices - Kurt Messick by  TOMSDATTARmolly

Not a piano-style pedal, but good at what it does
Review of Casio SP3 Pedal by  PhilThePenguin

Advantages: Reliable switching action, durable
Disadvantages: Not piano-style, can slip, cable perhaps too long

...I use this as an una corda pedal with my Casio Privia PX-310 stage piano, alongside an SP-20 as the main sustain pedal. As you'd expect from Casio, it's well-made and has served me well through many gigs and even more hours of practice at home. This pedal is a class above the cheaper models available in this design and the switching action is positive and reliable. Obviously though, anyone hoping for the realistic action and feel of a "proper" piano pedal will be disappointed. Despite the rubber underside, slipping can be a problem on some stages. At nearly 2 m (6 ft), the attached cable is almost certainly longer than you'll need and this can contribute to the inevitably messy-looking stage, but it's a minor gripe. A perfectly acceptable budget sustain pedal, but before long you'll want to spend a little more on a proper piano... Read review

Shimano XTR M970 SPD pedal
Review of Shimano M970 XTR MTB SPD Pedals by  EasyExercise.co.uk

Advantages: quality, use, price
Disadvantages: None

...Previously, I had a pair Of Ritchey WCS Ti spd pedals (i paid £60 on ebay, but the retail at £140!!). These were next to useless - the bearings failed within 12 months. They looked good and weighed not a lot, but didn't work very well, at all :O( I begrudgingly purchased the XTR spd's for £56.99 from wiggle, as I didn't want to go the "shimano" route again. First impressions of quality were superb, especially for under £60!!! The smoothness of the bearings is silk like. fitting is just like any other pedal. Adjusting the tension springs was also the same as any other spd, although I didn't have to do them as tight as previoud spd's I'd owned. Clicking in and out of the pedal gave a satisfying quality click. In riding i've done so far, they perhaps clogged more than i'd have liked, but the riding was very very extreme. After... Pedal to the Metal. Zoom GFX-707 guitar processor.
Review of Zoom GFX 707 by  FlameDruid

Advantages: Lots of sounds in one package.
Disadvantages: Not mighty valve produced analogue ones.

...The Zoom GFX-707 is a guitar effects pedal. It has a large range of sounds made up of thirty factory preset ones and thirty user programmable ones. There is a built in tuner, a built in drum machine, and a large integrated foot-pedal for those squawky wah-wah moments. What does all this mean in real life? Well, costs vary. I've seen it for £129.95 at musicianshop.com, £119.00 at regentguitars.co.uk, and a there's a multi-effects version called a GFX-707 II which is available at electrohill.co.uk for £119.95. Years ago, that sort of money used to buy one Boss effects pedal with, say, distortion on it. Then if you wanted other pedals like reverb, delay, chorus and flange, these would have to be daisy-chained together with lots of little cables - a messy solution with lots of things to go wrong. This one pedal can... Read review
