Ciroen C4 VTR+
Review of Citroen C4 1.6i 16v VTR+ 5dr by
lucasade1
Advantages: Toys
Disadvantages: Ride
.... The brakes were designed by a man without any comprehension of physics. Even when bedded in, they dig the front of the car hard into the road, lifting the back to the point that it becomes loose and skittish under hard braking - to trouser filling level at any decent speed. The steering is reasonably responsive and the gear change is smooth and refined, though I wanted a little more feedback from the clutch in truth.
Once you get used to all the gadgets and gizmos, as well as the ride, they are ok and you can put them to the back of your mind. What you can't ignore is that woeful 110bhp engine. It requires constant flogging to get anywhere and under 4k revs is just pathetic. Why did Citroen not use the 1.616v out of the Saxo VTS? This is a heavy car with 4 adults and luggage, we will have been tipping 1550kg's and I had to spend time hunting up...

Citroen C4 Transformer
Review of Citroen C4 HDi 2.0 VTS Coupe by
pedro_gavino
Advantages: Good styling and plenty of gadgets
Disadvantages: Citroen reputation
...When looking for a car recently I wanted everything and thought I would have to compromise. To my surprise I didn't and I am now the proud owner of this car. Leaving facts and figures aside it's a great looking car, affordable, sporty and packs a turbo diesel punch!
It had to be less than £10,000
No more than 3 or 4 years old
No more than 20,000 miles on the clock
Low fuel consumption
Low tax bracket £150 a year max
Sporty looks and decent performance
Good resale value
Plenty of gadgets (I am a bloke after all)
Good ride and handling
Believe it or not the Citroen C4, specifically the coupe VTS 2.0HDi diesel delivered on all of the above. Citroën has never given buyers in this class a car as good as the C4. The old Xsara - and before that ZX - failed to hit the spot with bland looks and little innovation. But the C4...

So where's the flippin' "robot" button then?
Review of Citroen C4 1.6i 16v VTR+ 5dr by
eldergill
Advantages: High Tech gadgets, 20K Mile service intervals, smooth ride and good handling
Disadvantages: I can't make it dance.
...So, you've all seen the Citroen advert haven't you? Car turns into all singing, all dancing robot thingy. Well, that car's a Citroen C4 (model shown is the 2.0 Exclusive).
The birth of my son finally persuaded me to part with my much loved 3 door Focus ST170. I needed a new family friendly car with 5 doors, but what to go for? So I spent a bit of time researching (and it was mainly based on budget) and came up with a shortlist of affordable (..ish) small family 5 door cars
Now back to the advert. You must have seen it! You know, the Citroen C4 one that shows a nifty looking motor that turns itself into a robot thingy and dances to a catchy tune. It's all high tech and "fandabadoosy".
"Splendid!" Methinks "I'd really like one of those" A proper Boys Toy, full of gadgets….and let's not forget…a car that actually turns...

Clutchless Gearbox on a Diesel - Rare Combination
Review of Citroen C4 1.6HDi 16V VTR+ Coupe EGS by
jimbobfruitbat
Advantages: Looks good, plenty of extras, well built, spacious interior, no clutch
Disadvantages: Automatic gearchanges could be better timed
...When looking for a new car back in December 2006, I wanted something which ran on diesel, had a clutchless gearbox (i.e. automatic with paddleshift) and looked good. This combination limits youto a number of manufacturers it seems, and I ended up choosing between a diesel automatic Audi A3 and the Citroen C4 1.6HDi 16V VTR+ Coupe EGS. I chose the Citroen C4 based on the fact that it is better value for money (unsurprisingly) and looks better (I also already have a Citroen Picasso)
Design
I chose the 3 door version, as it looks much better than the 5 door version (which looks like a Ford Focus), a bit sporty even, and meets my requirements. I chose the "Iron Grey" colour, which I think compliments the car's salmon-esque shape. I don't see many C4s in the South-East of the UK, and it does stand out amongst the usual German marques...

Dancing Transformer Citroen C4 Car
Review of Citroen [TV Advertisement] by
welshwickedone
Advantages: Very Unusual and unique
Disadvantages: none
...PRODUCT BEING ADVERTISED:-
---------------------------------------------------
The Citroen C4 Available in Hatchback or Coupe
The Citroen advert is famous for the following quote on all the C4 range adverts:--ALIVE WITH TECHNOLOGY
There are two different styles of the C4 transformer adverts, which have been produced I am going to detail the both.
Advert One-
The advert is set in a deserted car park, and begins with a silver transformer style robot doing warm up exercises against a car park pay and display information board. The robot does several different warm up exercises before it suddenly transforms and turns into a Citroen C4 and land in a parking space. Then we get a funky style robotic music start playing from its stereo. Suddenly the Citroen C4 transforms again into a Robot and does a series of groovy...

The Saxo VTR....A 8 Year Test Review!!!!
Review of Citroen Saxo VTR by
The-Reasoner
Advantages: Cheap Insurance Nippy & responsive
Disadvantages: Rear legroom is poor
...I bought my current Citroen SAXO VTR back in August 1998 ( S-REG) from new and this is a reflective test i'd like to share on what i think of the car...
The 90's was a strange time to look for a sporty supermini, all the major manufactures were fighting to bring out their new models asap but not many was interested in bringing sporty versions out at the launch date.Price was at a premium so Honda and Mitsubishi were out of my touch.
Citroen's SAXO VTR-VTS was the most affordable at the time due to the great offers and aggessive pricing. The VTR was the better value at around £2000 cheaper than the VTS & the VTR came supplied with 2 years free insurance which enabled me to afford a few extra's added.
Considering Citroen's past model's reliability and rust issues i have had 8 years of hassle free motoring and still enjoy driving...

VTR- good buy
Review of Citroen Saxo VTR by
jf2404
Advantages: good looking, good price
Disadvantages: not much room in the back, no electric sunroof.
...better than most cars, i saw 1 just the other day a P reg VTR @ £3995.I haven't had any problems with the car, everytime i have taken it in for service the customer service has been friendly and very informative at Citroen, i am thinking of getting a VTS in the future but for the price and the style of the VTR i would definatly recommend it....

VTR is Fun and Affordable
Review of Citroen Saxo VTR by
VTR-t
Advantages: Price, Power, Looks, MPG, Handling, Insurance
Disadvantages: Sunroof, Servicing (sort of - read on)
..., as that way I know that its been done properly.
The peddles are a bit close together for some people, but i have no problems and i have wide, size 10 feet. im also 6ft 1" and i have no problems. My brother is 6ft 4" and hes fine too. he does have to put the seat right back but as i say to my mates, Im buying the car for Me, not my mates. Lets face it, in small 'Hot Hatches' your not gona fit 5 fully grown men in the car with ease, but iv done so and the suspension couped the best out of my saxo and a friends, Fiesta and Clio, on a recent trip to thorpe park (inc motorway miles) this is because the VTR/VTS has uprated stiffer suspension as standard, but its still the typical, smooth Citroen ride quality.
It comes as standard with electric windows, Power Steering (light but you can still feel the road), cd player, VTR body kit which does make...

Saxo VTR pocket rocket that kept stalling!
Review of Citroen Saxo VTR by
aliclare
Advantages: fast, little pocket rocket
Disadvantages: unreliable
...Citroen Saxo VTR, 2001 Y Reg Black
This car was bought by my boyfriend in May 2006, with 30,000 miles in practically immaculate condition apart from the fact it was a insurance write off due to theft with no damage.
1. The Interior of the car
This paticular saxo had an upgraded interior with a very nice 'velour' type material, which compared to other saxo's I've driven and been in was much more comfortable and looked a lot smarter. It also had two rear headrests which others do not come with.
There was a driver's airbag, which comes with all VTR's, and I would say Citroen should have definitely installed a passenger airbag like on the VTS, due to the amount of crashes I have seen with these cars!
The standard radio/CD was very good and would play all CDs I put into it, including CD-Rs.
The dash was well set out with the dials...

Citoren Saxo VTR
Review of Citroen Saxo VTR by
EggheadCov
Advantages: Speed,Comfort,Looks,Drive
Disadvantages: Interior, Fuel economy at high speeds
...it beats them all hands down. I soon hope to upgrade to a VTS when I have the money to insure one! But for now the saxo is an amazing car which I have refused offers to sell many times, I will be keeping it until the car rot's! If you are looking for a cheap, fun, quick car then look no further than a Saxo VTR, you can pick one up with around 60000 miles for around 1500 now, with the prices dropping due to the new "C" range by Citroen being introduced.
All in all, it is an amazing car I would advise anyone to buy....
