Shop and Scan. Get Paid to Shop
Review of ShopandScan.com by  vkitten

Advantages: Rewarded, Fun, Easy way to make money
Disadvantages: None really

...I get paid for doing my own shopping Shopandscan is a new market research survey measuring the purchasing of households around Great Britain. Members are invited to join this consumer panel and record their purchasing by means of an in-home barcode scanner (The Clicker). It is about doing your normal shopping - supermarket, clothes, gifts, DIY, anything etc; then getting the goods home, scanning the barcode, down loading the barcodes and GET PAID FOR IT. That's it basically. Now I'll tell you in more detail. How I became Involved Well to be totally honest, I don't really know! Shopandscan is part of TNS and I do surveys for them, so I think I must have done a survey at some stage and they thought I'd be suitable, so invited me to join. What happened Next In the post I received a large envelop with my clicker, a clicker serial lead... Read review

BT Pen
Review of Everything that starts with B ... by  RupertElder

Advantages: It works
Disadvantages: Room for improvement, always room

...This pen is almost everything you would hope and expect from a pen. It's got your typical blue ink feel about it with a clicker on top to operate its power from on to off and vice versa. Endorsed by BT, I was given it for free at some do and it has since lasted over one year since its arrival to my home. Regular use of this pen has been made and my particular pen now comes with a nice textured effect on the tip, where some prat has only gone and chewed on it [ed- Oh shit that was me]. The clicker is manually operated, one click for on, one click for off. What they could have done to improve this was to have made a 3 click 5 second grenade timer but I guess you can't ask for everything. The clicker is yet to break and has worked perfectly for the full period of time I have had the pen. Upon dismantling the pen, I have learnt... Read review

Obedience at a click
Review of Fold Hill - Click 'n' Treat by  chocliteclair

Advantages: cheap, easy to use, dogs love it
Disadvantages: jams quite easily, not as loud as other clickers

...Having a new puppy in the house means new rules and training, and a lot of, so in order to do so effectively any help is welcome in my book, especially when it comes to getting the little bundles of fluff to do their business outside rather than in. I’d heard about the ‘clicker’ training method plenty of times beforehand and seen it on various TV programmes and thought it must be worth a go and as my breed of pup is supposedly easy to train I couldn’t go wrong with having a bash myself. There are a few different styles of clicker available and they range widely in price and although I didn’t deliberately opt for the cheaper version, it was just a case of I was in Wilkinson’s buying other doggie goods and spotted the following for an amazing £1.59 and it was already filled with 50 delicious treats, so in my mind I couldn’t go wrong... The Lynx Effect
Review of Lynx Deodorant Spray by  Benf199105

Advantages: Smells good
Disadvantages: All too similar

...Now, Anyone remember that series of adverts with Ben Affleck, and Harmar Superstar? The whole lynx click thing. Affleck would prance the streets clicking a little Lynx Clicker to count up how many women "clicked" him. Was I the only one who was caught up in it? The whole, "Man, i gotta get one of them clickers". Harmar Superstar was chilling in a nightclub with two guys wearing the latest Lynx fragrance, cleverly entitled "Click". So i bought this sexy, new, cool fragrance, and i can't say i was dissapointed. There is now a scientific term called "The Lynx Effect" or at least there should be! I found the first time I sprayed it on, girls would say "mmm.. what's that?" And i would promptly 'click' my very own Lynx Clicker that i payed for by SMS (how sad). I've been wearing Lynx for a long time, and i've always found it to be very... Read review

Get paid to scan your shopping
Review of ShopandScan.com by  gemagems

Advantages: Save up vouchers for christmas or spend them when you fancy
Disadvantages: You have to recieve an email invitation to join

...ShopAndScan is a fab site that I have recently managed to join. I received an email invitation from out of nowhere! I must have clicked on something when I was on the Internet that took my details! HMMMM Not really sure how it came about… but I will explain what happens! What's it all about? Shopandscan is part of the TNS group, which also has a survey site with paid surveys. I have been a member of this for a few years so maybe that's how I came to be invited to shopandscan! I have always received some good rewards from TNS so I though I would give shopandscan a go! Basically with shopandscan you scan all your shopping and earn rewards by sending your barcodes through a clicker! The First Stage Once you receive an email invitation (which includes a four digit code) You log onto www.shopandscan.com and click on register you... Read review

Beep beep n beep beep Yeah!!
Review of ShopandScan.com by  KELLYLOUJ

Advantages: Rewards for sharing the products you buy everyday.
Disadvantages: Remembering to transmit each week.

...in the UK and in my opinion probably the biggest. Offering many programmes, I am also linked into market research questionnaires with them that once completed the rewards are nectar points and for me every little bit comes in useful. ~*~What exactly is Shop and Scan about~*~ Shop and scan measures the purchases made in households throughout the UK via a pc and a barcode reader known as the "Clicker". All of the information collected by the "Clicker" is collated to provide acurate reports of the products consumers are purchasing and this information is fed back to manufacturers and retaillers as to how popular a product is. ~*~What information is held about me?~*~ When you register you are required to provide your name and the name of any other people in the household, address, telephone number and email address. Barcodes when transmitted... Read review

What a BLEEPING load of BLEEPS
Review of ShopandScan.com by  kappaslappa

Advantages: Easy to use, great rewards
Disadvantages: Email invitation only to register

...Shopandscan is probably one of the best consumer research panels that I am a member of simply because it is more interesting than most, it is easy to use and the benefits of being a member suit me. So who are shopandscan? Basically they are a consumer research panel who are run by TNS. TNS is credited with being the oldest UK consumer panel, running companies such as shopandscan and with over 40 years it is one of the most trusted and independent names amongst market research companies. TNS are based in London but they do have over 50 offices worldwide. ShopandScan have one aim and that is to look into products bought my households and they ask people to join up to the consumer panel and record your purchases from supermarkets, high street stores, chemists and a few other stores by using an in-home barcode scanner known as the clicker... How to get goods for free!
Review of ShopandScan.com by  anwar

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

...was in business! What’s involved? *************** Inside the silver jiffy bag was a shop and scan personal user guide. This gave me clear instructions on how to scan all my barcodes and how to connect my scanner or clicker to my computer. There are 5 laminated sheets in different colours. The first blue sheet contains your panel number and a list of all members of your household. Next to each name is a barcode. The next sheet is yellow and contains a list of all the well-known supermarkets, convenience stores, freezer centres and specialist food shops. Each has a different barcode next to it. There is a section for home and garden, larger stores, drinks, chemists, newsagents, petshops and a final section including retailers such as Avon and mail order. Finally there is a green sheet with amounts from 99p -£300 and over. You are also issued... Read review

Shop til you get rewarded
Review of ShopandScan.com by  redrag

Advantages: Great rewards
Disadvantages: email invitation

...I have just joined this fab new site. Got the email through mytns.com which I registered with ages ago. Received email and it said free to join so I did. The email has an invitation number on it dont delete email til you have this number. Go to register it will ask you for: Name Address Email address Phone Number Names of other members in the household. then you put the invitation number in and you have done. Then you will get a email saying you are now member of the site. They will send you a clicker to scan shopping with. It only took 3 days for my clicker to arrive with instructions and a 5 page guide, USB cable and a thankyou letter. When you go shopping all you have to do is scan the blue page which has a list of the people in the household you scan the name that purchased the item. Then go to next page which is yellow... shop and scan why yes i can!
Review of ShopandScan.com by  macteykith

Advantages: easy, fast, rewards scheme
Disadvantages: invitation only

...went through the application and was told my clicker would arrive soon with what I would need. The next day(!) in a shiny silver envelope, I got my clicker, which is like a littler laser reader that you press the button and scan it across the barcode. They also give you 3 sheets, one detailing the shops, one detailing who in your household did the shopping and then the other what price range you spent. Thats it. The idea is then that everytime you go shopping, you scan the corresponding barcodes on the sheets given, and then transmit. The click was easy to install, didnt need any extra software whatsoever, just clicked into a spare port. I leave mine in all the time since I work on the computer and can scan as I go lol. The laser only comes on when directing it properly, so it could cause damage in the wrong hands, but I would think... Read review
