...When I decided to install my own central heating and hot water system in a rather large house, I knew it was going to take a long time. With all the cutting of copper pipes, cuttiing out sections of joists etc. I'm not a professional plumber, so I didn't have much prior experience of plumbing. Then I discovered the plastic plumbing systems, EasyFit and SpeedFit. They use a flexible, reinforced plastic pipe and push-fit connectors. They cut the plumbing installation time right down. I was able to install the pipes for a 4-bedroom, 3-reception room house in about 2 days, including the lifting and removal and replacement of floorboards. .... Don't just switch off the fusebox, it is guaranteed that some kind soul will switch it back on again before you finish. Plumbing can be equally nightmarish. Have lots of containers filled with water before you shut off the supply and cut the pipes. You will need several cups of tea and the use of a loo before the job is completed. The best way to cut a pipe is with a pipe cutter (surprisingly!!) They are inexpensive and create a satisfyingly clean cut. If you are useless with a blowtorch or soldering iron, buy the push-fit plastic piping which is now avaiable. Although expensive compared with conventional copper, this is an excellent quick, clean and efficient method. In addition, it can be connected successfully to copper pipes. ...I recently upgraded to an Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard, Intel Q6600 and picked this cooler due to my supplier being out of stock of another Zalman cooler. It is a copper based heatsink with copper heat pipes which connect to a steel fan assembly with the fan on top (as pictured). It is supplied with supporting clips for both 754/775 and socket 939/940 and you have to fix the right one according to your set-up. The Intel clip felt as though I was going to break it before I would get the two sides of the clip to seperate and I eventually prised it open with a screwdriver risking it not going back together again. Once the back plate was stuck to my motherboard I then had to re-assemble the clip around the cooling block and then screw the whole thing onto the base. ...Porterhouse is situated in Maiden Lane in Covent Garden and is a few minutes stroll from Charing Cross and Covent Garden Stations. From the outside it looks just like any other old pub but once inside you find a cavern of copper beer pipes and dark wood surrounds. The pub is split into different levels which makes navigation very interesting, especially trying to find the toilets after a few pints. Porterhouse comes from the name of the brewery with the same name and is famous for it's extensive selection of beers (188 at last count I think) and it's wonderful Irish based menu including sausage and mash and also large pots of mussells . During the day the pub is relatively quiet and is perfect for our ICQ get togethers which happen every couple of months or so. ...from your fingers will destroy electrical equipment. Always earth yourself by touching a computer case which is plugged in but not switched on at the mains. Alternaltively, radiators are usually earthed, so are the pipes in your house. ------------------------------ Cooling ------------------------------ I've mentioned this a few times now. Cooling is extremely important when it comes to prescott chips. They are prone to overheating, so watch out! I would go for a large copper heat sink. Most of these are designed for overclockers, but I think it'd be a good idea to handle the heat this chip will give out. Aluminium heat sinks with copper inserts do the job alright, though I'm not entirely sure how long I want to keep mine on the chip, I'm inclined to get it off as soon as PC World get their new stock of copper ones in. Advantages: You have to drink alot to get a hangover, cheaper then the other palmers beers.
Disadvantages: Its a bit weak, and not very exciting.

...Palmers Copper Ale: Alcohol content: 3.7% Brewed using English malted barley and golding hops. Palmers brewery is in Bridport, in Dorset. They brew a selection of traditional beers, and in my opinion the copper ale is the worst one. Palmers copper ale is the boys beer. The beer which wont really get you drunk unless you drink lots and lots of it. You are highly unlikely to ever get a hangover after drinking it, unless you are a bit of a lightweight. Prices range from about £2 a pint, to £2.50 a pint depending on where you go to drink it. If you go to one of the palmers pubs you are looking at £2.30/£2.40 a pint. The ale is a copper colour (suprise suprise), and if kept and the correct temperture and poured well, should have a slight head on it, and it should be clear. Advantages: Excellent energy efficiency and money savings over older versions

...this aided the fitters as they had to put new Copper heating pipes under a few of the floorboards. The boiler itself has a rather stylish look over the older "square brick" look and it's only 760x440x360 in size so leads itself to mounting in either an airing cupboard, as we did, or for mounting in the kitchen. The 30CDi si an A rated efficiency condensing combi boiler and we have allready noticed the improved efficency and savings over the boiler we had fitted in our previous house We have now had the boiler fitted for just over Six months and we have noticed that the delivery of hot water to the downstairs taps can take upto 30 seconds this is not a problem to us as we had the boiler fitted upstairs in an airing cupboard however hot water to the adjacent bathroom is well under this time. However, one of the fitters turned out to be a little diamond. The next morning, he turned up full of the joys of Spring, saying that he’d worked out how this “wrong-way thing” could be altered just by adding in one more piece of pipe, and by turning the pump round. Pipe was something we had plenty of, since the salesperson/estimator had gone a bit mad on the requisitioning of copper bits. An hour later, we were all running again, and for the first time in 15 years, I didn’t have to turn off the upstairs radiators when I was only heating water for a bath.
