Advantages: straight, sleek hair

...Being cursed with uncontrolable thick, curly locks these straightners have really made a difference to my life. As OTT as the statement may sound, its true! They successfully tamed my hair putting an end to frantic morings of endless blow drying trying to "do something" with the wild mass of frizzy curls. I bought my own futura straighteners two years ago from a salon after my hair dresser first wowed me with their results. I found them a little tricky to get to grips with at first. They're quite bulky and heavy compared to other straighteners but after a few practices I got used to the knack and had no problems. ...when i purchased babyliss, they were my first hair straightners, but this was almost 4years ago now. Since this i have attempted many straightners till finally settling upon my futura and ghd's branded straightners. I would not reccomend these straightners to any prospective buyer with thick hair as they do not have the strength with which to tackle frizz or curls. On the other hand the straightners would not necessarily be effective for the thin hair either as whilst the straightners have the strength, they may not be good for your hair. The metal plates tend to pull at your hair as they straighten, and the steam attractions are not as effective as they seem. The straightners do however apear to have some small, but mainly insignificant benefits for the user, especially if planning to use on small areas of hair... Read review

I personally hadn’t heard of Fransen Futura before, in fact the only ones I’d heard of were Good Hair Day (GHD). I was aware of how expensive GHD were and had heard all of the nightmare stories about their products blowing up and so had steered clear! I have since found out that Fransen products are manufactured in Italy (though obviously wired for UK use). .... Classy! Well, it kind of falls apart at the seams (not literally) when you realise only the nozzle is actually metal. The body of the hairdryer is chromium silver covered plastic. I don’t really care that much as long as it lasts. The flex is average length, which is a shame because so many hairdryers seem to fall down in this area. Why don’t the manufacturers realise the only places where you’ll find the plugs next to the mirror are hairdressers? In your average home they’re always miles apart. Such is life! At over £20 this is not the cheapest on the market. It seems to be about mid range. The name it goes under is the ‘Nicky Clarke Electric power dryer and styling system’. Electric? ...novel, at less than 200 pages, but takes directions you wouldn't expect from the beginning - in turns romantic, scary, unsettling and bizarre - and the ending carries less resolution than the memoir format would suggest. Especially for something I was expecting to be a quick read to make my commute go faster, this bitter-sweet story has left some very vivid images in my mind. I've entered this op under 'modern fiction' because I didn't think any of the possible genre headings really explained the book at all. If the authors other books are at all similar, I'll defiantly be looking them up not I have read this. If you like slightly odd, almost edge-of-fantasy novels, then this is for you. ...Well this magazine is actually published by attic futura who are the same publishers as Inside soap, my favourite soap magazine, and this one isn't too bad either. I do buy both on a regular basis as I can't get enough about soaps, as many of you will know from previous ops and those that are members of my yahoo group. The main difference is that this magazine is monthly and Inside Soap is fortnightly, they both cover what is going to happen in the next few weeks and tell you what not to miss. All about soap has more quizzes and games, which are good fun and I love. The first few pages of this magazine are dedicated to "Soap World" which is "all the hottest gossip" from all the soap stars! there is 5 pages on this alone. The magazine then goes into the biggest story lines that will be happening that month, in the current issue... Read review

...a card during those 12 weeks it is impossible to get a room in the Ibis. Reservations can be made online through www.accorhotels.com or directly with the hotel. LOCATION = This Ibis hotel lies about 3 miles from the cathedral in the centre of Strasbourg. It is on a very busy road with a tram line running up the middle - tram stop Futura Glacière. Next to the hotel is an Italian restaurant and bar, and a supermarket opposite the rear entrance, in a more residential area. There is on-street parking in the residential roads, and the hotel does have spaces in a local car park, although I've not used that. CHECK-IN, CHECK OUT, STAFF EFFICIENCY = Check-in was very efficient. Since the weeks I am there are the busiest for the hotel, the card keys are all prepared and marked up ready to be handed over with the minimum... Read review
