Cool Pix For Sure...
Review of Nikon Coolpix 775 by
MuratM
Advantages: Cheap and affordable introduction to digital photography
Disadvantages: Too much to carry along, addtional flash memo expensive
...%.
That is actually normal, regarding the nature of saving electronic data. But a compressed mode whatsoever could have been appreciated.
The software provided is neat and easy to use. I wish it helped also for manipulations and effects. Also a thumbnailing HTML editor (to build online albums) would have been adorable.
Long range zooming is nice, the digital zoom enhancing it. Since I do not go photo hunting, I do not need more.
The picture orientation problem where the LCD screen and the viewfinder just do not match is a chronic problem of all digital cameras. I never saw one which does not suffer this problem. Maybe that is because the viewfinders are usually offset, unlike my reflex Nikon 35mm which is essentially a WYSIWYG camera.
Batteries are durable and very quick to recharge. I hardly ever use my spare battery and I can now see that I actually...

Nikon D40x DSLR
Review of Nikon D40x by
almarsden
Advantages: Compact for an SLR, easy to use, excellent picture quality.
Disadvantages: Battery life only allows 1000ish photos to be taken
...My review is about the Nikon D40x Digital Single Lense Reflex camera.
For the last 3 years i've been taking photographs using my dad Konika Minolta Dynax 5D, but as of a few months ago i've moved
in with my other half and no longer have access to my dads camera, so before christmas it was decided that we needed our own digital SLR.
I'd got a couple of models in mind, the Canon EOS 500d and the Nikon D40, they both did what I wanted of them and were around the right price.
Having researched them on the internet and finding somewhere to go look at them off we went to Jessops in town to have a look at them.
I asked the assistant if I could look at and have a play with both and thats when I spotted the Nikon D40x, it hadn't come up in my searches on the internet and turned out that it was a better version of the D40 and had a 10mp CCD...

One for the Christmas list
Review of Nikon D100 by
heneghan
Advantages: SLR-style camera body good photo quality
Disadvantages: expensive fairly fifficult to learn usb not firewire
...(ish!!) cost.
The Nikon D100 has a whopping 6.1 Megapixel CCD and every manual control you could dream of. The image quality from the CCD is such that may pro photographers are now ditchingtheir film cameras altogether in favour of digital.
Like other SLR cameras, the D100 is sold without a lens. Those with an investment in Nikon lenses will be all set, because you can use Nikon standard lenses with this camera. Newcomers, however, will have to fork out the cash for a lens. Perhaps the most versatile would be the 24 - 85 mm (F3.5-4.5G) lens. view unit.
~~What's in the Box?~~
The D100 has a very good bundle (for an SLR). Inside the box, you'll find:
The 6.1 (effective) Mpixel Nikon D100 camera body
EN-EL3 rechargeable Li-ion battery
Battery charger
Neck strap
Body cap
Eyepiece cap
LCD cover
USB cable
Video cable
Lens cap w...

A GREAT CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHIC TOOL
Review of Nikon D50 by
RICHADA
Advantages: Brilliant Photographs. Excellent Value For Money. Feels Great In The Hands.
Disadvantages: Very Complex Controls. Not a camera for beginners.
...FOR: Brilliant Photographs. Quicker witted than I am! Excellent Value For Money.
AGAINST: Very Complex Controls. Not a camera for beginners.
This is NOT a technical review, if you need all the techie details I suggest a visit to the Nikon website. My review is a personal one - from a camera users point of view.
I am writing this particular review in response to the rather lacklustre offerings that I have read about this particular camera. I really was hoping that my favourite review sites would point me in the correct direction over the choice of my first D-SLR - Digital Single Lens Reflex camera, but sadly, no, that did not turn out to be the case.
Without the aid of up to date consumer reviews, just how did I end up investing in this particular piece of kit? Well, several factors came into play; price, reputation, previous...

A great professional camera
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S7000 by
ShahidHalling
Advantages: Easy to use and excellent images
Disadvantages: Grip design could have been better
...Ive bought many cameras in the past, but the Fujifilm FinePix S7000 Zoom challenges models from Canon and Nikon for serious photographers attention with a model that has eye-level, extensive controls, through-the-lens (TTL) viewing, and very good to excellent image quality. Im a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to digital photos, and was delighted at the functionality and results of this camera.
The S7000 looks like a professional single lens reflex unit with a big lens and extended battery grip. Although not as full-featured as the midrange Canon/Nikon models, the S7000 offers manual exposure, aperture, and shutter priority, as well as manual focus, bracketing, and a histogram. Only problem is it ships with four AA alkalines, not rechargeables which is a bit of a bummer.
The S7000 is really easy to use, although the grip could...

Affordable Pro Digital SLR
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S1 PRO by
Alexmouse
Advantages: Does everything
Disadvantages: No lens or memory card
...Definitely a camera for those with a bit more cash and looking for an SLR Nikon bodied camera.
You buy the camera with no lens but then Fuji assume you have Nikon Lenses to fit. It also comes with no memory card and you will probably need something large like an IBM Micro Drive It is a 6 Mega Pixel output which means huge prints and has every manual control of any good SLR.
Unlike the Nikon D1 it comes with all the cables and some seriously useful camera control software. All in all an affordable solution to those wishing to switch to digital from their existing SLR.
There are many different 'kits' available. Keep your eye on content and price and shop for the best buy....

Nikon D80 - Digital SLR
Review of Nikon D80 by
MacUK
Advantages: Quality Lenses, High level imaging, good all rounder as an SLR
Disadvantages: Heavy and large to handle.
... Nikon D80 Digital SLR
As with my reviews, I will assume you will go to find the detailed technical specifications of the camera from a dedicated site, and are relying on a 'real life' and 'lived with it' opinion. Please refer to Nikon.com for detailed specs.
The D80 is somewhere between a consumer and professional range of camera. Typically you are getting the technology that was utilised on the professional D200 camera on a mid-range camera today. This is part of the inevitable technological advances, where today's top of the range options become tomorrow's bread and butter. The 10.2 Megapixel sensor means that you can generally enlarge pictures to over A3 size, without worrying about quality loss.
What is an SLR? Are not all digital cameras the same?
The camera is an SLR (Single Lens Reflex). This uses the same...

Nikon v Canon v Pentax
Review of Nikon F 65 DATE by
bazza1603
Advantages: Cheapest SLR ith the best range of features
Disadvantages: Plastic and light feel lets it down
...on the day so I had chance to check the internet to see if I could buy it a lot cheaper. I found it for £315.00 including postage from a dodgycamera.com company. Since I have had no end of bother from buying sh*te over the internet and I was getting no protection from my Gold BARCLAYCARD when things go wrong. I decided to buy the cheaper Nikon F55 after a week of looking, so of I went to Dixons in the Metrocentre to find the price had drop to £329.89 for the better F65 camera. My mind was made up for the extra 30 notes.
What a SLR camera and why is it better than normal 35mm??
************************************************************
A SLR camera stands for Single Lens reflex. Basically this means that you actually look through the lens via the viewfinder. This is better as the picture you see is the picture that’s actually taken so you can...

Beautiful CAmera...but wait!
Review of Nikon D50 by
nimlad
Advantages: Excellent Entry Level DSLR, at a cheap price and aesthetically pleasing
Disadvantages: Lens isn't up to scratch with the new Sony's, and no form of image stabilisation
...The Nikon D50 is a beautifully looking piece of kit (especially in sliver, which I paid an extra £5 for) which feels perfectly weight in the hand (As do most SLR's). If you are a past user of Nikon camera's you will be at home with the size and shape of the D50.
In comparison to the entry level Canon and the Konica Minolta 5D (who have now been bought out by Sony) if performs favourably in the area's of colour clarity and ease of use of the menu. BUT it does not have any form of image stabilisation, which is where the Minolta rules! Say good bye to shaky pictures, with blurry lines.
Saying that, the crispness possible with the Nikon is amazing to see, with clearly defined lines and colours it shows up beautifully over short and long distance. The provided lens is wide enough, and a telephoto lens will add much variety to the camera...

NIKON COOLPIX 4300 DIGITAL CAMERA
Review of Nikon Coolpix 4300 by
andrew06
Advantages: Great picture quality, easy uploads, point and shoot, fast battery charging, nice design
Disadvantages: Low battery life when flash used
...The Nikon 4300 is my first digital camera and I was worried that digital photos would just not hold up quality wise to a 35mm photo, I must say I was immediately amazed at, and impressed with, the picture quality of the Nikon. It is very difficult to take a bad picture with this camera (although it happens on occasion) I also enjoy the super easy upload to my computer. Quick and easy step by step programme. I haven't even read the manual it is so easy to operate I bought this camera for my online retail business I have been using it indoors and most often with the flash but you can turn the flash off . The battery dies out very quickly when the flash is used. Fortunately the battery charges quickly, in about one hour. I like the design of the camera, it is chunky but fits the hand well, and looks as cool as the name indicates. But I am...
