Animal Crackers!
Review of Animal Planet by
travel-expert
Advantages: see text
Disadvantages: see text
...Animal Planet is part of the world renowned Discovery Channel stable, and is only available if you have access to Sky Digital or through certain cable operators.
From 6 am to 12 pm they run, not surprisingly, animal programmes. Some of these tend to be repeats from the main Discovery channel, but there are also many originals.
There is a heavy bias toward Australia (sometimes I think it should br called Discovery Crocodile Dundee Channel!), but, on the whole, it is good educational entertainment for kids (much better than feeding them a diet of crappy American cartoons!)....

Hide and Peek
Review of Tomy Discovery Dome by
shaheena
Advantages: Hours of fun
Disadvantages: Could be pricey
...Hi everyone, today I'am writing a review on this activity toy my son has. Its the Tomy discovery dome. He loves playing with this, its his hide away and own little house, where he will be playing and having fun for hours. I love watching him play with this with this product, it makes me so happy to see him smile and laugh.
Well, now i will tell you all, why this discovery dome is great and the reasons why i highly recommend it.
Tomy Discovery Dome is a a dome shape play house, designed to encourage manual dexterity and introduce colours, shapes and numbers to little kids.
The Discovery Dome combines fun and developmental activities with a child's very own space. 5 balls zoom down inside and outside the dome. Coloured beads in the rain window make a fantastic noise. Working light in the entrance. 4 big 'paw' feet for stability...

DISCOVERY 3 - A FEMALE PERSPECTIVE
Review of Land Rover Discovery 3 by
A1ValuedOpinion
Advantages: Comfortable, manouvreable, good looking and family suitable
Disadvantages: Uses a lot of juice
...I've never been mad about cars. For me they used to be something to get me and the kids from A to B safely.
My previous car was the Discovery 2, which was a bit like driving a tabk. The turning circle was lousy, it was hard to park and it sounded loud. So I was a bit apprehensive about the new one.
I've had my Disco 3 for just over 2 years and it is fantastic. Apart from the sleek design and all the boys stuff you can find out about from Landrover site, it is a really good family car. The Discovery 3 is comfortable - inside it is more like a people carrier than the old model. The parking sensors make parking much easier. The handling is excellent and it is a quiet ride.
It's also very capable off road. I've got 2 kids, a dog and a very tall husband we use the car to tow and launch a 6 metre boat off beaches and it performs well every...

Discovery Museum - All this for free
Review of Discovery Museum (Newcastle) by
MarkKerr
Advantages: Free fun for all the family
Disadvantages: none
...The Discovery Museum in Newcastle is a must!!
I recently returned home to Newcastle for a few days with my family, whom have only ever been to Newcastle twice before our recent visit.
The kids have become great fans of Newcastle and everything connected to it, but didn't register a great deal of enthusiasm when I suggested we could visit the museum - typical kids though!
However, on arrival, they soon began to change their minds about the idea and gradually became engrossed in exploring every nook and cranny of the place.
Funded entirely by grants, admission is free for everyone. The building itself is light and airy, and caters for all - ramps and rails are incorporated into the design for wheelchair access, a comfortable cafe, with a surprisingly wide range of reasonably priced food and drink is provided on site, along the now...

Purely Magical
Review of Stardust DVD by
galatico1
Advantages: Cast, storyline
Disadvantages: None
...A purely breathtaking film, which is unbelievable to think it was created by pure imagination. A film for all the family, for kids and adults, to grasp everyone and keep them focused on the film from beginning to end, until that final scene. A stark contrast to Matthew Vaughn former film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, encased in this film is a true gem which entails everything from, heroes to villains, magic to sourcery, romance to envy, the film envisages all of these, a star studded cast have pulled this off effectively through the combination of old heads like De Niro to the younger generation of Charlie Cox. Based on a fairy tale novel, Tristan the hero of the story seeks out a fallen star for a girl he loves, but upon his discovery a love story un-ravels and a story of betrayals and a fight for the kingdom ensues. Truly...

Fisher Price Discovery Farm
Review of Activity Centre: Discovery Farm with the Play Family by
ChrisMc
Advantages: runs on low spec PC, fun for the very young
Disadvantages: Windows key can be used during play
.../response or press any key.
My kids have loved this and I heartily recommend it. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the computer and as long as they don’t hit the Windows key even the youngest can bash away at the keyboard to their heart’s content....

In The Hands Of The Gods DVD Review
Review of In The Hands Of The Gods DVD by
Aidannnn
Advantages: Brilliant Footbal Freestyle Skills
Disadvantages: None
...In The Hands of The Gods is the true story of five young British street kids as they go on a journey across the Americas to Argentina in the hope of meeting their hero, Diego Maradona.
The kids use their football freestyle skills to busk across countries where handouts don't come easy, impressing the crowds to survive.
It's a journey that tests the limits of their friendship, talent and guts as they fight to meet their lifelong hero.
Without a doubt you wont see any better footy skills, this side of Rio. Saw it in the cinema and loved it from beginning to end. Its more than just seeing some very talented individuals pulling off mind boggling tricks though. You really feel for all the characters and want them to succeed in meeting Maradonna. They are all from very different backgrounds and are forced to unite on this once in a lifetime...

Pie in the sky
Review of American Pie 2 (Wide Screen) by
Homer_Simpson
Advantages: Lots of birds and Jim's Dad is the best
Disadvantages: Cost of cinema tickets nowadays
...The problem with a sequel like "American Pie 2" is that it's about the same characters, and the elements of surprise and discovery are gone. In the first movie, Stifler's mom appeared unexpectedly like a gift from above. In this movie, she has become a standing joke (except to Stifler). In the first movie, Jim didn't know that he and Nadia were making love in streaming video on the Internet. In this one, there's a sequence where strangers pick up a sex scene on their CB radios, and we're thinking: this year's version of Internet broadcast.
That said, I had a good time at "American Pie 2," maybe because the characters are broad comic types, well played; the movie feels some sympathy for their dilemmas, and because it's obsessed with sex. Also because it has Jim's dad (Eugene Levy), the world's most understanding and supportive parent...
