Environmentally Friendly Dishwasher tablets
Review of Sainsbury's Cleanhome Dishwasher Tablets Citrus by
jupiter28
Advantages: Works as well as leading brands, cheaper
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
.... The front of the box states the name and a list of the features:
* Water soluble film
* Salt Action
* Rinse Aid
* Glass Protection
* Stainless Steel Shine
The back of the box gives you directions for use and items that should not be placed in a dishwasher like lead crystal or thin decorated glass. It also lists the ingredients:
5% to 15% Oxygen based bleaching agents
Less than 5% Non-ionic Surfactants, Phosphonates, Polycarboxylates
Contains: Enzymes (Amylase, Protease), Perfumes
These are mainly plant based, so effective and kinder to the environment.
Interestingly enough the package has an eco label, which is a picture of a flower with a capital E inside the head. Designed to show that the product is greener than others not carrying the label. You can find more about eco labels at http...

Not just dishwasher tablets!
Review of Marks & Spencer (Dishwasher Products) by
klofron
Advantages: Clean well and smell nice
Disadvantages: You can buy cheaper
...Marks & Spencer Homecare
4 in 1 Dishwasher Tablets with Lemon Grass
Despite what it says on M & S (Dishwashing can be fun), I personally don’t believe that dishwashing can ever be fun. It can however be made much easier, as we have only recently discovered, with the aid of a dishwasher.
Since buying our dishwasher in 2006, we have tried numerous types of dishwasher tablets and other products to discover which we like the best.
We have had a few boxes of Marks and Spencer 4 in 1 dishwasher tablets with Lemon grass. The first was given to us by a relative but we have bought others since. They sell at over £4 per pack of 25.
INGREDIENTS
The tablets contain Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Percarbonate and Sodium Silicate. Not sure what it all is but that's the stuff that makes them work!
SAFETY INFO
Apparently, prolonged or repeated...

Maytag Stainless Steel dishwasher
Review of Maytag MSE760FAKS by
cazzooblue
Advantages: Quiet, large inside, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Intermittant fault that doesn't seem to be fixable, expensive
...I have had the Maytag for nearly two years now. I bought it to match with new appliances in my refitted kitchen.
The machine holds a lot, more than our previous model. It was so quiet that when we first used it we didn't think it was working!
It is easy to use, with lots of programmes. It has a low salt and low rinse aid indicator.
It has an economy programme as well as all the usual programmes that you would expect for a top of the range dishwasher.
About a year ago it suddenly started tripping the electric off and we needed to get an engineer. I bought the machine on line and I looked up Maytag and phoned them, they then arranged for a firm of engineers to send someone round. The engineer arrived, tried the dishwasher but it was fine, so said he couldn't do anything but let Maytag know if it happened again. He noticed...

Beko Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
Review of Beko DE 3542 FW by
reynolds1967
Advantages: Looks great, quiet noise, and a godsend to our family home
Disadvantages: none found as yet
...I love this Dishwasher and really dont know how we lived without before. It is so easy to use, the instructions are very easy and the maual is set out in such a way that anybody who is not well up on things like this can feel quite confident about using the dishwasher properly and to it's full potential. There are not loads of different buttons and selection to confuse you, but enough to get the job done! It is quiet and looks really nice in our kitchen, very modern and trendy looking. I have alot of faith in this make as we have other appliance in Beko, we have never had any problems. If you need a dishwasher and this one is the correct size and colour, then i highly recommend it. Dont pay more for something that you may not reallly need, for the price - this one does evrything you need it to, and looks great in the process. All you...

Asda 5 in 1 Citrus Dishwasher Tablets
Review of Asda (Dishwasher Products) by
eandemam
Advantages: Gleaming dishes, glasses and machine
Disadvantages: None as yet
...This is a review of Asda 5 in 1 Citrus dishwasher tablets.
We have had our dishwasher for a few years now and have come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for where dishwasher tablets are concerned.We prefer the tablet form of detergent purely for ease of use and less mess than powder. We have tried a few budget ranges over the years but find that the tablets do not dissolve or the dishes, especially glasses are left with a film of residue when the wash is finished, and there were many occasions when our food tasted of detergent due to the plates not being cleaned properly. For this reason, we have stuck to Finish for at least the last 10 months. Between Christmas and January pay day, we were watching our pennies and noticed that Asda had a 5 in 1 product which was on offer for £2.79 for a box of 30 instead of £3...

Review of Proline PDW080 by
welshwickedone

This dishwasher has a stainless steel interior and has both an upper and lower sliding basket facility for placing your dirty dishes in. It is supplied with a white plastic cutlery rack with a lid as well as measuring devices for the Salt and Rinse Aids that may be required. Great Stainless Steel Dishwasher
Review of Smeg DF 614 SF by
kaz1962
Advantages: Gorgeous to look at, easy to clean, SUPER quiet, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Difficult to position glasses
...When my Hotpoint dishwasher gave up the ghost, I decided to go for the 'best' I could afford!
After loads of research, the Smeg came out tops.
At the time of buying I got a really good price from the electricshop online and also an extra 5 years guarantee from Smeg.
It is super quiet, has nine different wash settings with half load, top or bottom shelf. Holds up to 14 place settings and both the top and bottom baskets are adjustable. You can also put the cutlery basket on the top or bottom or even use the special holes on the top basket!
The digital display gives you the time length for the wash programme you have chosen.
If you use 3 in 1 tablets, press the button and the wash adjusts itself to these.
Compared to the Hotpoint, the Smeg cleans superbly, even baking dishes with dried on food have come out sparkling.
The only down...

Aldi 'Magnum' Dishwashing Aids
Review of Aldi (Dishwasher Products) by
barberanna72
Advantages: Excellent Cleaning Power and Very Good Value
Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet
...I have been really impressed with Aldi's range of dishwashing products. Generally, I feel, consumers are urged to buy top well known brands in order to keep their dishwashers working well for as long as possible. The Aldi 'Magnum' range of dishwashing tablets are, in my opinion, just as good. Recently, I bought a pack of 'Magnum 5 in 1 complete dishwasher tablets' for £2.49. The box contained 40 tablets in total and I was very impressed with just how clean everything came out each and every wash. Each tablet contains rinse agent, built in salt action and glass protection agent. We have also purchased a box of Magnum dishwasher salt. As my husband made the purchase, I am not sure of the exact price, only that it was substantially cheaper than we have paid in the for other well known brands and performed just as well. They come...

Fairy dishwasher tablets?
Review of Fairy Tablets (Dishwasher Products) by
Lexie001
Advantages: comes in tablet form
Disadvantages: doesn't seem to do the job
...I have to confess to have always used finish products but my boyfriend always out for a bargain saw the Fairy Tablets had a special offer on in Macro - BOGOF - need I say more.
First of all I should say that the Dishwasher we have was inherited with the house and we believe it is probably about 10 years old. I have cleaned the filters, topped up the salt and rinse aid etc so could not put the poor performance down to that.
In the Fairy box were a few of the finish tablets that were left. I was open minded about using these products - as they say nothing ventured nothing gained. I had chucked the dishes in the machine in my usual haphazard fashion and then placed the tablet in the dispenser as I had on previous occasions. I was surprised that there was not the equivelent of the the power ball feature in the Fairy tablets...

Asda dishwasher loose powder
Review of Asda (Dishwasher Products) by
wendy155
Advantages: cheap, and it works.
Disadvantages: not as convenient as tablets.
...I always use this in my dishwasher. It gives a really good clean, and the dishes are always squeaky and shiny at the end of the cycle. I used to use tablets but when comparing them to the cost of powder I couldnt believe how much cheaper powder is, so had to give it a try. I have been using this one for approximately two years, due to the fact that I usually shop at Asda, and can honestly say that the level of dishwashing seems to be exactly the same as some of the more expensive tablet types
I pay about £1.87 for a 1 kg tub which seems to last for ages. It probably last for about 4-5 weeks of daily dishwashing. It is also 'lemon fresh' , doesnt actually smell like fresh lemons but the smell is ok, and at least it smells clean.
On the downside it is not as convenient or easy to use as tablets, but it is not too fiddly either...
