...I was given this printer by a friend who no longer wanted it. My first question was "is it broken". No was the answer. After a short discussion about why he didn't want it, I accepted it with gratitude. I didn't know what I was going to use it for as I already had a printer but who turns away free stuff? You may be wondering what a dot matrix printer is. A dot matrix printer is a printer that you may have seen from the 80's, it works by striking characters onto the paper. The paper used is the type that has holes running up each side. The holes are used to feed the paper into the printer. Dot matrix printers have the perception of being loud, in my expirence they are not that loud, although they are louder than a normal laser or ink jet printer. Advantages: Quick reliable dot matrix printer
Disadvantages: Just remember it is a dot matrix

...I have used these printers on and off for over 12 years. They are generally reliable and good for a 9 pin dot matrix. Some early ones had problems with weak drive gears, but later ones are fine. I had to go through about 50 of these looking for dodgy gears and replacing them!!!!! They support both IBM and EPSON control codes and have an easy to use menu which prints as it goes. They are available with both Centronics and RS232 sockets. Extras include various tractor feed modules. For business use with pre printed stationary they are excellent and are my favourite DMP. Scoring Picture Quality, well it is a dot matrix hence poor. it is also mono. In general OKI printers are very good, we have a colour laser at work which is very good and I will review it and the bigger version we get our customers to buy. My only concerns... Read review

...The OKI 380 is a dot-matrix 24 pin monochrome printer. We make use of a number of these printers at the company I work for. They will retail for around the £250-£300 mark, depending on the supplier you use. Dot-matrix printers have been around for many years and this type of printer was really the first kind that most people would have seen in offices, appearing along side the early desktop computers. However, technology quickly moves on and these printers were superseded by the invention of the laser printer. These days it is rare to see this type of printer in a normal office environment as the laser printer is a much more flexible machine. However, the technology although old still has its uses. The reason why dot-matrix printers have not yet gone the way of the Dodo is because for certain uses they have one distinct advantage... Read review

Advantages: Errmmm....leave me to think for this one

...I believe that most OKI microline printers are used for business purposes, as are most other dot matrix printers. The microline can be seen in Airports and Hotels all around the country. I have used them in a business capacity for several years and always found them to be outstandingly reliable. I have now been fortunate enough to pick one up for home use. It is second hand with quite a few miles on the clock but is ideal for my uses since I send out a lot of letters and type up reports etc. for my college course. Make no mistake, dot matrix printers are for text only, don't even consider printing graphics on one - it just looks crap. But as a text-only printer the Microline 520 is very hard to beat. Advantages: Supurb looks and great feel too. Fantastic prices available.
Disadvantages: Wear easily.

...for their wedges, these clubs do not disappoint here either. As standard the clubs come fitted with a supurb True Temper Dynamic Gold steel shaft and the usual Cleveland grip, neither of which I can pick a fault with. The head is made out of CMM (Carbon Metal Matrix, created especially by Cleveland) which is slightly softer than usual steel to give extra feel. Finally, the face and grooves are precision milled grooves for spin control and personally I have found that the spin given by the clubs are very good and consistant too. Next to note is Cleveland's bounce options. For those who are not aware the "bounce" on a wedge is the term that refers to the features making up the sole of the club. A low bounce is a low angle between the sole and the ground and is useful on firm turf to give a clean contact whereas a standard or high bounce is more suited... Read review

Advantages: Playing mp3s wherever you want.
Disadvantages: The price is not for everyone.

...I bought this product to replace the Diamond Rio PMP300 I had owned for a year. The Rio 500 is an excellent product as it holds 64 megabytes of memory, allowing 64 minutes of near-CD quality playback or two hours and eight minutes of FM Radio quality playback, and so on. The most usefule feature is the dot-matrix MP3 title scroller at the bottom of the LCD display, which is backlit, may I add (a VERY useful feature that most of the otehr MP3 players do not have). I beleive that anyone that either has a lot of liesure time, is a jogger/walker/biker, anyone else that can benefit form this should buy it. It was worth the money I paid for it (about $300 US in most stores) Considering the prices of memory these days, 64 megabytes is $200 US any way you look at it, and the other $100 is worth the product alone. Advantages: The special effects that have never been seen before.
