...I've had this product since it's initial release in September 1999 and she is still working wonderfully with me. This unit it not like usual TV/VCR combos. She has a 4 head Hi-Fi VCR and not to mention tons of inputs and outputs which makes it real easy to add a mini-theater or dvd player to this combo in the future. I currently have an Aiwa NSX-MT321 mini theater w/2 subs and a Proscan PS8680Z DVD player hooked up to this TV and she really shines. The quality of the picture is excellent and the on screen menus are easy to use as well. The only flaw with this set is the remote. The remote is sorta confusing to use and it is not universal remote. Besides the remote this is a great TV/VCR combo unit and I recommend it to anyone. I haven't had any problems with it so far. Right now would be a good time to get it b/c Aiwa is comming out... Read review

...We are very pleased with this TV / DVD combo. This was bought for a bedroom and runs off an indoor aerial, even so the picture and sound quality are excellent. The set was easy to set up and took just a matter of minures to auto tune the TV channels. The DVD part of the combo is easy to use, the DVD loads easily and produces great sound and picture quality. in addittion to playing DVD, DIVX, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-RW and Kodak picture discs can also be played. This set can also be linked directly to a PC, being very untechnical I haven't done this but I thought it was a good additional feature. The set also has teletext. Just a couple of disadvantages The first is that the user guide is not a step by step guide - which is what we needed in using the DVD facilities. ...I decided to buy a DVD/VHS combo unit to save space and the family could still watch our large collection of videos. My basic needs were a nicam VHS and DVD player that would play many formats for a good price and this machine seemed perfect. I bought the unit from a local dealer for £89.99 and was impressed as the machine had the same specifications of more expensive units. It was east to convert to region free from an internet search which took about 10 seconds using the remote. After 3 months of daily use i am more than happy with this unit and i have not fully discovered most of the technical things it can do according to the instructions, though i do use it for showing photographs and slide shows with discs burned on my computer. ...I have always been a big fan of Sony products, right from my TV to my Digital Camera, and this combined DVD/ VHS combo has kept with the good name of Sony. On initial set-up from taking it out of the box, to plugging it in takes a matter of minutes, and cater's for the less technical abilites. There is a double scart socket on the back, which allows for connecting to the back of a TV or for connecting secondary devices such as a satellite decoder to it for the purpose of recording Sky programs. When it is connected up and switched on it automatically tunes into the television programs saving the user any hassle tuning in the channels. It also has 'VideoPlus' allowing you to type in the number of the program you want to record. ...Toshiba External USB 2.0 Combo Drive INTRO Along with my recent office purchase of the R200 laptop and seeing as it was minus a CDROM I bought an external CD unit. I originally made the mistake of buying the DVD ROM version and at £85 that was next to useless. So I returned that and got the Toshiba External USB2 Combo Drive. There are a few different ones out there, this one wrote CD's and read DVD's. IMPRESSIONS When you open the box up your greeted with what first looks like an MP3 player. Size wise its not much bigger than a CD. The finish of this one was brushed aluminium to match the R200 laptop. Quality is easily very high, just like Toshiba's other offerings. ...I have recently purchased the Toshiba D-VR16SB combo unit, and am initially very pleased with it. It is a neat looking unit, and I found the initial connecting and set up relatively easy.The unit has an auto tune facility to find the terrestial TV channels, and scart connection for satellite, and facilities are there for s video or audio/video cables if required. For DVD recording it has a choice of six modes, giving up toa max of 600 minutes on a 12cm DVD disc, down to the highest quality level of recording, giving 60 mins of very high quality.I have used the recorder on the standard setting, which gives 120 mins at a fairly good quality level.
