...How refreshing is it to know that England posseses a national side that has the capacity to beat any other team on the planet on their day. England under the coaching of Clive Woodward have evolved into a dominant force in world rugby that is only too obvious to anybody who has seen England play recently in the six nations tournament. England do not have a weak link in the team and the names that were left on the bench for the Italy game is a testament to that - Jason Robinson, of Sale, is certainly no pushover and is considered one of the hardest tacklers in our backline - no surprise given his rugby league roots. ...Iam from Germany, please be patient that my english might not be very good, iam stil learning and this is my plane, that i can get a better english here. All say England is the home of football since 100 years with a big tradition, but anyway they won "only" 1 time the world cup. So they had the plane to win in korea/japan too, but there group was hard, really super hard, sweden,nigeria and argentina, all thought england and argentina will do it, but nigeria is good too. All the world wondered that sweden won this group, england was second cause they won vs argentina. Next round in KO mode they had to play against denmark, but not really anyone thought england could lose, and at all it was an easy game and england won 3:0. ...England had a fine win against Pakistan it was a great follow up against their win in England against West Indies. However, with Sri Lanka the pressure will be on. The world media now expects of England to win comfortably against them, and that’s when England have to remain focused and try to put in the same worth ethic as in the test versus West Indies and Pakistan. It wasn’t so long a go that England were the worst Test nation but with the excellent leadership qualities of Nasser Hussein, it looks like they’ve come through. They have some good players not to mention a fine bowling attack with the likes of Gough, Caddick, and Giles, England could go a long way. It will be hotter in Sri Lanka and the pitches may even be flatter, but I can’t see any reason why England can’t win. They will have... Read review

...Why is it that England Internationals invariably send you to sleep? Tonights game was no exception. It was obvious from the team selection that this was going to be team in the typical Howard Wilkinson mould - 'hard working but very short on talent'. While it has to be said that England were unlucky to have the Parlour disallowed, lets remember we were playing Finland and really should have stuffed them! I was also abit disturbed to see Brian Kidd sat on the England bench. Why the hell bring in someone who has such a poor managerial track record? It seems to me that nobody is really going to want the England job, now that they only have a marginal chance of qualifying for the world cup.... Read review

...England have not been the most consistent team of recent times. However England have recently shown a small bit of promise. Through players like David Beckham and Michael Owen. There is also promise of new players coming through such as Joe Cole and Gareth Barry. We may not be able to win the world cup just yet but maybe we could turn a few heads. All the England team and management can do is try a get a group of the best players in England and keep producing from the youth teams.
