Another Epson Stylus Photo?!!!!!!!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1290S by
jdeacon_162
Advantages: 6 colour printing
Disadvantages: price of cartridges, appearance
...Be honest, how many of us can tell the difference between a stylus and a stylus photo? or between a R800 and a RX620? I for one cannot. When looking at this printer you could easily be mistaken for thinking it was one of its earlier counterparts. After all the design hasn't changed much over the last few years. But suprisingly the technology has. Ok i guess i shouldnt "judge a book by its cover", but how can you be impressed when it look identical to the stylus photo 810 - and goodness knows how old that is!
The desgin aside, the printing quality is excellent, can't really be faulted. Although i'd recommend you use the real Epson printer cartridges as the cheap ones often leak and clog up your printer heads. In my case this situation is always followed by about half an hour of cleaning them with cotton buds and toilet roll! So if you...

Darkroom?
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R800 by
malekowie
Advantages: Excellent photo quality
Disadvantages: No USB cable
...I bought my new Epson Stylus Photo R800 in December last year, shortly before Christmas. Kind of present for myself! It was replacement for my old photo printer, as the name suggests - another Epson - Stylus Photo 890. It was a great printer, reliable, durable, making great quality prints until the day…
My promise to myself was to get another Epson printer as I knew the maker and loved quality of its printers and other "photo products". I own photo quality scanner by Epson - another great piece of equipment.
I ordered my new printer over the internet, as it was December had to wait 2 weeks for delivery due to big demand for this model.
Unpacking isn't difficult and rather exiting, the box contains:
Printer unit;
Power cord;
8 ink cartridges;
Setup guide;
CD with software;
And some...

Great printer.
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R800 by
reptilian_storm
Advantages: Print Quality, CD Printing.
Disadvantages: Price, Ink Price, Slow printing.
...I have owned an Epson R800 for about 12 months now and we have a bit of a love/hate relationship. The upsides to this printer are -
Print quality - Simply amazing. On highest DPI settings this printer will print photos as good as professional kiosks will. I really can't fault it.
Simplicity - When i bought this printer i expected to be over run with technical worries about how to get the results i wanted from it. The R800 comes with software like Epson photoquicker, Print cd and many others. These programs make using the R800 simple, more so than any other printer i have owned. There are some in depth setting under advanced settings but Epsons manual didn't quite give me the confidence to try them out.
Technology - I believe the R800 prints using the worlds smallest ink droplets of 1.5pl and printing at 5760 x 1440 DPI gives jaw...

Epson Stylus Pro 5000
Review of Epson Stylus Pro 5000 by

Advantages: Produces excellent high quality prints, Ideal for Professional Use
Disadvantages: Very expensive
...normal printers, but these are standard prices. You can recycle your old cartridges and have them filled up at specialist stores.

---------
The Epson Stylus Pro 5000 produces excellent ink-jet output and has high-end features, but it’s not exactly a speed demon when it comes to time. But that isn't a negative point. I would rather this printer took it's time whilst printing than rushing it through and producing a lower quality picture...

It prints.... money for Epson!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R800 by
underwurlde
Advantages: when it works the results can be stunning, photographic quality prints. Prints onto CDs / DVDs
Disadvantages: Extortionate cost of Ink cartridges which CONSTANTLY run out! Heads clog rendering the printer useless.
...In a nut shell, steer clear.
Epson have asked for this poor rating by trying to rip me (a CUSTOMER) off by thinking that it is OK to charge £14 per ink cartridge, of which there are EIGHT (yep, a HUNDRED QUIDs worth) and which empty like a leaking bucket. Do you get a lot of ink in an ink cartridge for that price? No. You do not. You get a measley miserly stingy amount of ink which will disappear faster than you'd believe!
You may be thinking that I do a lot of printing, that I am in an office, but sorry guys, minimal printing at home. Expect to be replacing 1 to 2 cartridges per month, i.e about 200 quid p.a. on 'proper' ink cartridges - that damn 'ink-has-run-out-time-to-get-another-mortgage-or-sell-the-kids' light is constantly blinking at you. (Oh and I took one of these ink cartridges apart just to see if it really was empty...

EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R265: SUPER, I LIKE IT!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R265 by
Hi-Spec-Tek
Advantages: BETTER DESIGN, QUIETER, GOOD PHOTO AND DVD/CD PRINTING.
Disadvantages: I HAVE FOUND NONE TO DATE.
...at the rear as the other one did and I wondered for a long time why that one would not print the DVD I wanted to try it out on. A few unsuccessful attempts and I was about to cry!! Then I realised that there was a metalic clank as the tray went into the machine to set itself in line to do the printing. THE TRAY WAS GOING OUT THROUGH THE REAR AND HITTING THE WALL BEHIND THE PRINTER!! I needed to pull it away from the wall by at least 5 inches and that meant losing some valuable desk space. NOW!! The R265 is so different in as much as the tray does not extend through the rear of the printer but is retained inside while it sets up position for printing the DVD/CD. That in itself, more or less convinced me that I had a much better machine here.
The Epson Stylus R265 uses 6 (six) ink cartidges. That is beneficial for a good photograph printer...

Epson Stylus Photo 1290S
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1290S by
china_wolf
Advantages: Prints like Cheetah on speed, quality is like 20/20 vision with vision enhancing glasses, decent value for money.
Disadvantages: Cannot use cheap alternative ink, has an arse bigger than my aunt May.
...Epson... what a bloody good printer company. Just when you think Canon has come out with the next best printer with all the magical implementations thrown onto it to make us users drool, along comes Epson with it's fat arse and a cheaper quality professional printer to quench it's fire. If I wanted to be crude, I could of said that the Epson Stylus Photo 1290S A3 printer was the Epson Stylus Photo 900 A4 printer, with an erection. Epson rocks my wok.
I was at Comet the other day, searching for my first A3 printer so that a lowly mortal, such as myself, could be given the powers of A3+ printing. I searched high and low, but could not find the printer I was looking for. And then, as I was giving up, a Comet salesman comes up to me with a smile on his face and a message on his forehead reading 'Buy something from me, I want a bonus...

Epson Stylus DX4050
Review of Epson Stylus DX4050 by
markyeadon
Advantages: Easy to use, cheap and good quality printing
Disadvantages: Does use quite a lot of ink whilst printing
...I have always gone for the Epson printers for some unknown reason and when my latest printer, an Epson Stylus PHOTO RX425 started playing up i thought it about time i upgraded, also the playing up of the printer was causing a problem with the childrens homework so needed to be sorted ASAP.
So off i went to my local PC World on the hunt for a bargin, not that you ever get any of those in PC World!! But i was in luck there was an offer on the Epson Stylus DX4050 at only £39.99 for an all in one printer. I was chuffed as i'd expected to be spending around £70 - £80 for a new one. Apparently this model is the European version of the Epson Stylus DX4000 which is the UK model, however you can buy the European model cheaper - typical that is for UK.
So i marched off down to the check-out as quick as possible without trying to attract any...
